View Full Version : 墾丁- Kenting
BODYholic December 25th, 2007, 07:59 PM Heh I heard its a beautiful place but so far, no one seems to post any picture of this place before. A seach on 墾丁/Kenting also did not yield any fruitful result.
Anyone has nice 墾丁 pics to share? (err .. preferably not those 'touch up' shots from the ads).
Thanks.

BODYholic December 26th, 2007, 02:02 PM Thanks.
I have to be frank that some of the shots were disappointing. As in they were all highways, roads, concrete houses, cement buildings, night market, nothing that makes me think of a relaxing beach resort or nature reserve. Those that one would associate with sun, sand and sea.
But your last few pictures were impressive and changed my view.
Are there any interesting beach resorts that have unique architecture or design in Kenting? (don't give me 5 star hotel names) :)
Merci beaucoup.

This is SKYSCRAPERCity, most photos here have to do with buildings, structures and urban development. I'm sure there are other forums out there that are more focused on environment which would have photos you're looking for.

Which was why I asked about resorts with unique architecture or design in Kenting.
I understand that you can't help, therefore other threads may need your contributions and post count more. Thanks.
pierre-laurent December 27th, 2007, 11:16 AM BODYholic, do you read chinese ? (moreover, do singaporan read chinese in general?)if you do, i invite you to read this web page. there is everything!

if you want something architecturally unique, i know a charming minnan style hotel complex near to the beach. in the past, it was a leisure center for youth run by the kmt's "young patriots group"(lol), but now it's a "normal" hotel, that everybody is welcome.

but if i were you, i'd choose a homestay 民宿, they often're cheaper and more "human". it's a pity, that i've lost the address of the homestay where i slept, because the room is perfect and comfortable and the boss is a very nice man...here is homestays' map.

and allow me to recommand you chia-ler shui/ 佳樂水 (east side of Hunchung peninsula), near to manchu township. but you 'd need a car to go there...

BODYholic December 27th, 2007, 01:35 PM Hi pierre-laurent,
I am really indebted to you. :)
The red roof, white wall buildings in 救國團活動中心 create a stark contrast against the blue backdrop but the overall harmony still maintains. c'est magnifique! :)
Oh ... your first picture makes me totally breathless (vraiment). I mean the view is priceless even we have to walk there. ^_^|||
The reason why I didn't ask for unique office buildings nor skyscrapers in Kenting because I thought it is a silly question (since this is not a business hub, unless I was misinformed).
But in any case, if you do come across any *special* or unique structure/buildings/skyscrapers in Kenting. Do share with all of us here.
Many thanks.
PS: Yes, I read, write, and understand Chinese language.
tr December 28th, 2007, 04:44 PM I would second the suggestion of staying at a smaller establishment. My favorite area for this type of accomodation has always been Banana Bay.
