Has this building a triangular ground? In that case it is a mix out of Empire State Building, Jin Mao Tower and Hong Kong Central Plaza.
But it's an interesting design though. :okay:

Why? You would like to be like Dubai Marina, with all buildings "glued" to each other?
Is great that it have so much green in it.

trees also block views..

Chicago, NY, HK, don't have 8 supertalls crowded togheter. Have tall buildings next to shorter ones. And no, I personally don't want to look out the window and see the other building window at 10 m from me, and nothing else. :ohno:

deepblue01 January 4th, 2010, 02:21 PM The cladding of this building still seems to be a mystery, i know that there are one or two renders floating around, but they don't look professional. Hopefully this will turn out to be better than expected.

The seventh shape January 28th, 2010, 02:09 AM Some talk disparagingly of this building's design as being 'old school', but China missed out on that period of architecture. The design is a novelty for China, which is good enough reason to use it.
deepblue01 January 28th, 2010, 04:29 AM I don't think the renders do this building justice, thats why people call it old school. I guess if they can use more brighter colours for the cladding, then they can pull off a Jin Mao, which certainly will look grand.
snapdragon January 28th, 2010, 03:10 PM I am sure they will . I honestly find this obssession of chinese to light up all their buildings to make them look good being quite pretentious and silly . It should be more natural as is the case with chicago
SilentStrike January 28th, 2010, 06:48 PM For that to work they really would have to build different style of buuldings.
For example, the buildings in Chicago would look weird if they colored red, green etc. The desgin of most buildings in china is different thought, that's why they looks good when they're lit up. I like them lit up, but Shenzhen seems to build the buildings a little like Chicago and not light things in colors.

Well it's over 40 stories high. The construction pace is pretty consistent on this one. With no setbacks or mechanical floors spaced throughout, it always appears to look the same. But it is getting taller.

Herzarsen September 8th, 2010, 10:43 PM This seems like a bridge walkway over the highway tunnels toward the island which would be behind the photographer. I believe the whole area should be park but have 4 themed squares along the way so some parts will be tiled.

Absolutely, the progress on the site has completely stopped, and this for at least 6 weeks. Asian Para Games are supposed to start this sunday and last one week.
Let's hope they will resume the construction straight after, without that break I guess the pinnacle and the guangzhou bank tower would have been topped out and the Leatop Plazza's cladding done or close to.

Well, I'm not so sure about that. The glass might be okay, but not the stone's colour on the side. That coffee brown is not a choice imo.

you mean the two white-blue ones? Well from that picture, and from far, not too bad, but in reality, they are a real eye-sore. Old, bad design, and empty on top of that. I saw big adds for renting offices there like on new buildings. I really wish the could get demolished

No, not the twin small towers that are of the same size, but the two sets of towers to the left of the twin blue white buildings. They are built with the one bigger than the other style, however they are identical in design. Those two sets of towers to the left of the blue and white towers look really nice and modern. A real shame that they aren't part of the new skyline as such.

Okay I like this better. The building is called Victory Plaza The towers look very good indeed, but they think their location is not a major problem. Would be sad to have a huge concentration of super talls in one area and only low rises elsewhere.
They are located in the first development phase of the CBD, just around the Stadium in Tiyuxi Road. It's a more commercial area that is building some taller buildings as well from time to time. 2 have been topped out this year.

deepblue01 January 4th, 2011, 08:16 AM wow, it seems like there has been some progress made to the cladding of these towers. \yeah, i think the pinnacle will be one of those towers that will look good but will not look new when finished, its mainly due to the color of the cladding i think.
