View Full Version : Israeli Section Extension
RoM August 25th, 2003, 10:10 PM Hey Folks ;)
As you can see we changed the Israeli section a bit! I hope you all like the Change! the Israeli section is built from 3 major subsections:
General-The General Section is basically where you are ATM, its a section for all the general things Israelis (or anybody) wants to say, this section can be used for threads which doesnt fit in the other two subsections.
Skyscrapers, cities and urban discussions -I think the title speak for itself, Everything City or skyscraper related can be posted here, as well as anything else which is connected to architecture in this way or another!
News And Events -Daily news, Israeli related, middle east related, or just anything that you like! can be posted here!
PS- The rules for any of these discussion will be specified in the future! please pay extra attention to the news rules!
Have Fun!

queetz November 2nd, 2003, 01:30 AM RoM's idea is so successful for the Israeli Forum me and the other A&MESF regional mods have started implementing the addition of at least one section within the subforums to help organize the threads and ensure that quality threads don't get buried, forgotten and disappear during the prunes. :okay:

Well the idea was and still is increasing amount of discussions when time comes ;)
It took me HOURS to orginze it all, it used to be all in one big discussion and i had to go through each thread and put it in its place....imagine doing that through 5 or 6 pages of forum ;) so yeah it was a living hell, but its perfect now and i like it!
Style™ January 26th, 2004, 01:08 AM That sounds like it took quite a long time! Going through all those threads, and the old ones! Well, all that hard work seemed to have paid off. Would you agree?
Come on Israeli posters! Rep your forum! :)

kyle June 3rd, 2004, 02:23 PM *A note: There are Palestinains who live in the west bank and Gaza, and there are Palestinians who are also called Israeli-Arabs, which live in Israel.
If you'd like me to answer the questions about Palestinians again, but about the Israeli Arabs, just say so.
Is the food in israel halal?(kosher)
There are some of these and some of these. In most places you can choose
do people understand english in public places? or in tourist destination?
They're supposed to. English is taught in school here.
is there any teror threat in tourist destination?
I don't believe so. Terror threats are quite general (areas, not cities and destinations)
in some of the pictures i have seen arabic written right beside hebrew! is arabic the second language in israel?
Officially no, but almost all signes are written in Hebrew, English, and Arabic
is arabic used in the government sector?
There are Arab Knesset (paliament) members
can arabic or other language beside hebrew is used for information postings?
Again - Hebrew, English, Arabic - almost everywhere
how would someone be able to define which area is israel or palestine, if both live together?
When people say "future Palestine", they mean the west bank and Gaza. You have to cross checkpoints to enter there.
is it possible to see some palestinians roaming around in the israeli area?
yes, Israeli Arabs. In Jaffo, Haifa, Galil, Golan, and the Negev.
is there a visible border between the two nation?
This is only one nation right now. As I said, checkpoints are like some sort of a "border" between the Israeli and the Palestinian areas.
is it possible for a palestinian to come to israel?
If he has the right documents, and he's not carrying something he shouldn't
is it very possible to have a gun or bomb attck in the main isreali city?
In the last few months not so, thanks to the pressure that the IDF puts on the terrorist organizations
are israeli people a little nervous to go out where they could possibly get killed by an attack?
Most are in a feeling of "no surrender to terror", or they just avoid too crowded areas.
are palestinians allowed to live in israeli area?
Palestinian from the territories? I don't believe so...
are palestinain allowed to work in israeli area?
I don't think people would want a Palestinian from the terrotories to work in his factory... But Israeli Arabs, yes.
is the general labour force in israel palestinians?
No
are there any rich palestinians?
Of course
does palestine have its own airport or do both colonies use the same airport?
I think that before the intifada there was an airport in Gaza
does the israeli build train run through the palestinian area? any stations in palestinian area?
There are not many train lines in Israel. Only along the coast, and to Be'er Sheva. Even the old line to Jerusalem is inactive.
is there any border crossing between two colonies?what is required to cross the the border, passport or visa or is the border open?
colonies? What do you mean?
do israeli & palestinians people drink alcohol? legal or illegal? culturally considerered okay to drink?
Like in any other nation. considered not good for your health :D
is it safe to go into palestinian area?
I wouldn't go...
can people in israel and palestine talk english? understand english?
As mentioned before - English is taught in Israeli schools, about the Palestinians - I don't think so.
for job involving oral cummunication, is it required o speak both languages hebrew and arabicto speak fluently, or is it only hebrew?
Hebrew is enough, unless your jod requiers you to speak also to Arabs.
if a student graduates from a university, could the person hope to find a job in israeli sector?
Why not?
iif someone lives on a border city like jerusalem, is it possible to hear vioces of gunfire? or military activities at night?
Jerusalem is not much of a border city. You can take for example Shderot - near Gaza strip - they probably hear the actions in north Gaza, and they also get a Quassam rocket from time to time, but no one died of those yet...
is it possible to get a gunshot if walking closeby to the border?
no actuall border, but it's more likely to get killed in a car accident
how would someone be able to identify if a person is israeli or palestinian?
I have no idea... You can tell somehow.
do palestinian have a passport? do they have there own national identity or do they also have a identity and record in israeli statistics?
I believe so.
does palestine have some high levels job?
In Palestinian society?
is a possible to suddenly enter a palestinian or israeli area without knowing? or are there signs posted?
No. You'll know. probably by seeing a checkpoint
is there any palestiny area in the north of the country?
You probably mean the Druze. But these are not "areas" that they have, these are just places that you know Druze live in.
do any muslim live in the israeli area?
Yes
do any jews live in the palestinian area?
Yes
