This complex will be impressive when completed in 4 years or so. Seachange at the southern end of Southport. 1000 residences here, four towers.
There will be a 40storey/120m, 2 x 90m/30storey and an 18storey/60m towers.
Developer MERITON are currently designing the complex. Work should start soon!

Yeah, this is a big development, like costs half a billion, that render makes the towers look a bit smaller than what they will be but then it's a place holder, I hope Meriton come up with some nice designs, the tallest tower will rival Pivotal Point on the Southport skyline.

Demolition of the Seachange shopping centre has already been going on for a month:)

well had a chat to meriton & GCC and its good news about the Seachange project. The first tower which will commence this year will be a 30storey tower. the 4 towers will be built over next 5 years with the tallest-40storey the last to be erected.
Meriton will lodge DA within 6 weeks.

It's the Culwulla and Ray show on the Gold Coast forum these days.
This is a great development. I'm guessing this thread will get more replies once actual renders of the towers have been released.
Keep us posted guys. I think the scale of this project really suits it's location.

Meriton will soon be releasing their huge redevelopment of the former Sundale Shopping Centre site, to be called Brighton on Broadwater.

This first tower will be known as "Shores", and will be approximately 30 storeys. Looks great I think! A really different style for the Gold Coast! Some general promotional info on the development is listed below the rendering:

http://www.meriton.com.au/brighton/brighton_lge.jpg

Welcome to Shores, the first stage of Meriton's radiant, new, beachside development, Brighton on Broadwater.

Walk to the beach or the cafes and cosmopolitan attractions of Main Beach and Tedder Avenue, with the area offering a variety of tourist attractions and entertainment options.

Shores will offer residents a range of lifestyle options including a gymnasium, sauna, spa and indoor heated pool, expanses of lush green space, a convenient retail precinct and an onsite Caretaker/Manager.

Views are a panorama of the vibrant Broadwater, Main Beach and the dazzling waters of the Pacific Ocean. Other apartments overlook the tranquillity of the Nerang River.

Shores offers 30 floors of oversized apartments, in a range of dynamic layouts with superb aspects to suit any lifestyle. Choose from a range of one, two or three bedroom apartments, with or without studies, or opt for Meriton’s signature floorplan, the versatile, Soho-style one bedroom home office.

Indulgent extras within your apartment are synonymous with all Meriton developments; stainless steel European appliances, stone/granite benches, generous outdoor areas, internal laundries with dryer, air conditioning and visual security intercom. Many apartments also boast walk in wardrobes, media alcoves, wintergardens and family or breakfast rooms.

Make a lifestyle choice.

I think it looks fantastic! Any word on the who the architects are? Looking at it closely it seems the building follows the following formula...

1 "Altair" + Roof Element of "Proximity" + slightly angled balconies of "World Tower" = Brighton on Broadwater

This thing is going to Date very quickly if it gets up. It kind of looks like they got their inspiration from 60s style buildings. The side looks a bit like the Perth city council building and that was built in the 50s or 60s i think. Then again it is just a rendering.

Despite what some of the above forumers think of its design, if only Meriton took the intiative to build something like this in either in the inner city suburbs, satellite CBDs or the suburbs of Sydney.

**BTW, is this the first Meriton development in QLD?

No. Cul would have all the details however I'm aware of a couple of Meriton projects built on the Gold Coast including The Meriton and Xanadu (I think) and another one I can't recall the name of, but all in Main Beach.

yeah ,Meriton has just ventured into the Mainbeach area for now but i mentioned recently that they have bought a 45storey DA on Ferny Ave which Bob Nation is designing!

There first was "Meriton on Main" in 1994.

The massive site is littered with machines, there is a giant hole being dug towards the back, big Meriton signs everywhere, some small cranes about the place.

So off it goes!:)

OK, this thread has been languishing at Page 2 of the GC forum for over half a year so I think an update is WAY overdue! Anyway, the floorplates are currently at level 9 or 10 so it's going up nicely. Check out

http://www.prdnationwide.com.au/goldcoastprojects/

Also noteworthy are:
Nexus Towers - core about 5 levels above ground
Air on Broadbeach - floorplates at level 18??
Chevron tower 3 - racing up..will be finished very soon
Wings Resi - Looks better from the back

Anyway, it's nice to look at some of the lower profile stuff happening on the GC (instead of watcching Q1 go up by a floor every week)

Stages to come are Marina, Coral, Regatta, Azzura, Portia, Oceania & Dune. Does anyone have renders of the entire complex, or the next big tower?

This one is actually already built...
