Designed by AC Martin Partners, the twin 1,181,000-square-foot towers sheathed in forest green granite and glass flank a central plaza and a three-story, 62,115-square-foot Bank of America office. Floors in the towers are column free allowing for flexible space configurations and several have higher-than-usual ceiling heights, from eleven to twenty feet. The project also includes 221,773 square feet of retail beneath the center on two levels, and an 11-story parking garage one block north. Topping the garage is the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles, one of the largest and most active YMCAs in the country.
Encompassing an entire city block bounded by Figueroa, Flower, Fifth and Sixth Streets, the project was built in 1972-1973 as the world headquarters for Atlantic Richfield Company and the Southern California headquarters of Bank of America. Since Arco was acquired by British Petroleum in 2000, it no longer occupies space in its namesake tower. The southern tower, named Bank of America Tower, continues as the bank's Southern California headquarters.

4/10...I usually like boxes but not this one. It's not consistent, the facade is too sloppy, all the windows are not the same size. It also isn't as good as other black boxes, it seems too light or dull.

O.K. towers..... but no one tower deserves (these kind of ugly, oversized) logo's.
The building looks a bit dirty....needs a clean-up.

Yeah it is not that large of a tower, does it really need three levels of mech floors???

Also, savethewtc pointed out, the windows just do funky stuff...if you are going to imitate a Rohe, do it repectfully please

I thought it was green but difficult to tell from some of the pics. Respectable tower whatever color it is

Ghastly. LA's flat rooftop rule will forever prevent it from ever being taken seriously as a world city. (form a skyline standpoint)
