Awesome thread, great trip. Must say that Skyprince's travel reports are always the most enjoyable to read in Skyscrapercity.

Obrigado Edmundo :)

Boa vinda ao fórum de Bangladesh.

I've always been a fan of Jazz from your country, Antonio Carlos Jobim and Eliane Elias are my favorites.

To me hilsha is the tastiest of all. If bones is a problem, try cooking it in pressure cooker. That makes it much more manageable. What you will be missing is tasty "ilish maachh bhaja".

Thanks Tanzir and clearsky, the fact is that all of us ( me, Mr. Mobassher and Mr. Faruk ) are travel maniacs and we share this special interest of meeting local people and to travel off-road to many undiscovered places.

Hmm.. my next destination is unplanned yet.... but I can tell you that among all places I've been to, my favourites ( till now ) are Oman ( I know what happened to you clearsky in Muscat Airport :D ) , UAE, Bangladesh ( no flattery here ) , and Thailand. I've been to other continents but it turned out that Asia is the right place for me .

I think it was one of the best trip reports on Bangladesh on the net! Yes, there aren't very many.

Well, Malaysia is definitely on my list of countries to visit. Hopefully I will have better luck in Kuala Lumpur than Muscut. :nocrook:

hahaha what happened in Muscat??

Great ! I was in Oman for 3 times and didn't see any BDshis there. Muscat is boring ?? Definitely not in my eyes ! I really really enjoyed walking around residential areas in Seeb, Al Khuwair, Madina Sultan Qaboos, Ruwi, Al Ghubrah, Muttrah, Shatti al-Qurm, Muscat City Centre, LuLu etc. and visiting nearby beaches in Quriyat, etc. Should be boring for most people, but I love it.

Anyway, please pray so that I can visit BD next month, flights already booked but am very afraid there will be job interviews.

haha goodluck and wish u all the best in ur next BD trip.
but are u plannin 2 come to Oman again??

its actually NOT boring for tourists like u but expat residents like us find it very boring hehe! The only good place I like here is the City Center.

Im surprised that u didnt see any Bangladeshis here........there are about 200,000 Bangladeshis working in Oman........most of them are labour but there are also lots of professors, teachers, engineers, businessman, doctors etc......

Hope u come 2 Oman again and let me know please :)

thank u

Hmm lets see, I just graduated and already sent my CV to many companies in Oman, but none of them has given me replies. Securing a job is extremely difficult in Oman and it's very very hard even for local Omanis ( my Omani friends with exceptional results in SQU normally had to wait 8-9 months unemployed until companies phoning 'em for 1st interview ).

Seriously, I knew that there are many BDshis in Oman but I never met any single of them. I saw Indians and Pakistanis in every single angle of Muscat and Salalah though.
