Shot in Dresden, on my summer vacation last year. I went by a steamboat on the river Elbe through the world heritage listed Elbe Valley (http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dresdner_Elbtal). The mansions are situated in a luxurious residential part of Dresden, called Loschwitz (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loschwitz).

You can even find 3 charming castles which collocate, also the upsetting Saxon Switzerland (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saxon_Switzerland) isn't that far away, as well as the pompous Castle Pillnitz (http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schloss_Pillnitz). I'd be pretty lucky to spend my retirement there one day ;)
Really enjoyed that vacation, Dresden is just wonderful and definetely worth a visit.

the haunting isn't really expressed graphically, not at all... and mentioning it in the title only highlights this failure, not compensate for it.
