Thanks for the pix. Now I know what Lodz looks like. My great grandparents emigrated from Lodz to Chicago shortly before World War One. I guess Lodz was still part of Russia then.

Skyline? 6 (it looks a bit like provincial US midwestern city). Streetscape, 8 or 9. Very impressive older urban architecture. Also Im surpirsed on how stratight the streets are. Is Lodz laid out as a grid.

Lodz is a city I'd love to visit someday along with Wroclaw and Poznan. I heard that of all the cities in Poland, this is the most violent and dangerous. I also read an article that ambulance crews would rather let people die and rob them, then help them honestly? I've also heard from my Polish friends that there is a growing gangster and thug culture in Poland and muggings are common place, especially in the South. Is this true or blown out of proportion?

Thanks for the photos, they are a great mix of old and new. The architecture is excellent, like in most of Poland.
