Durbsboi January 23rd, 2008, 09:00 AM Is this in Houghton? I see they trying to do the whole Hilton thing with the "H"
joburg January 23rd, 2008, 10:03 AM It's more in what's called Houghton Estate, which is considerably more high-rise than neighbouring Houghton. It's not far from Grant Avenue in Norwood (where all the restaurants are), and it's also close to the Victory Theatre. A good position me thinks.
SA BOY January 23rd, 2008, 10:19 AM where is the space to build a golf course in Houghton?
joburg January 23rd, 2008, 12:38 PM ^^ On the existing golf course in Houghton.
They must be reducing the size of the original golf course. It's currently in shreds.
Durbsboi January 23rd, 2008, 01:11 PM I must go up there, my dads friend just moved into his newly built 60 million rand house. I heard its freekin awesome.
dysan1 January 23rd, 2008, 07:00 PM yeah saw this in dec, must be totally destroying the existing golf course tho cos it did look a mess. But this development has a load of class. only thing that seems a bit funny is that it will be very close to homes that are only 1F in norwood...surprised there was not a wave of objections.
But looks nice
joburg January 23rd, 2008, 10:49 PM ^^ Surprises me too... Although I'm sure this development will go a long way towards upping the value of the area as a whole. I've also heard that a public park is part of the development, which will be very nice! I'm glad they're keeping the golf course, and not doing what they did in Kensington - ripping up the entire golf course and planting a big fat residential estate in it.
Jakes1 January 24th, 2008, 11:29 PM Grand, and new life for Norwood and surrounding area.

Durbsboi February 19th, 2008, 09:51 AM Awesome stuff, thanx Marco
Jakes1 February 19th, 2008, 09:52 AM funky indeed.
Luf February 19th, 2008, 03:12 PM Looks great thank you. Read in the paper today that the project may be delay due to water problems, the site has been flloding badly due to a river that runs below.
joburg February 19th, 2008, 03:30 PM Yup heard that on 702 the other day too. Apparently there is a hidden waterfall coming down Houghton Ridge that leads into a river which runs below Houghton. It would appear that someone didn't do their EIA properly...
Jakes1 December 2nd, 2008, 04:27 PM Construction is in full swing with some blocks already being up a couple of floors. This is a huge development - floating in a sea of cranes.
Inertia December 3rd, 2008, 04:37 PM Nice. Is the golf course still a muddy mess?
goliath01 November 24th, 2009, 06:12 PM Has this one been completed, or is it still stalled?

still stalled mate. The actual club house is now being built (nearly done i think) for the golfers but the rest is still standing still.

Thanks. What a shame, this really is a nice development
Durbsboi November 25th, 2009, 08:24 AM Ya this one had such good prospects, love the area.
