The HSBC tower is located in Canary Wharf, London. It is the joint 2nd tallest building in Britain, with the Citigroup tower, also in Canary Wharf.

If Canary Wharf can do something right - is that it can make excellent bosih type scrapers. I can't really deny that all the three large towers at CW are classic examples of creating a box - but without being overly bland or ridiculous.

One of Europe's best skyscrapers in my opinion, and probably the best of the Docklands towers. From photos, it's easy to dismiss this as a simple "box", but when you actually go there and see it, you realise just how great the cladding is and how smooth it looks, especially the curved edges around each corner.

I love the symmetry with nearby 1CS and 25CS, the three towers seem to integrate perfectly with each other.

i'd still have preferred something a little more spectacular however. this is the 2nd largest bank in the world's international hq!

BUT - the horizontal striping doesn't help the height, and so help me, I'm getting so TIRED of dull, flat roofs.....!!

Why cant those bloody Canary Wharf felers do something else rather than a box!!! It is an amazing looking building though. You dont normaly see curves on the side of a building like that. Most New York highrises are big boxes and have no perticular personality except the Empire state and Crysler! :)

The streamlined form and glossy appearance make the otherwise bland form have a subtle class. The glowing top is just superb, generally looks better when at night with more animation in the façade. Disappointing when compared to the innovative and icon previous Foster’s designed world HQ in Hong Kong.

This is certainly one of my all-time favourite office towers. It looks really sleek and has that classy, business look about it. The curved corners are definitely an interesting feature and the facade automatically says office. This building is great.
