Fahdingding May 15th, 2011, 01:23 PM Guys, Let me correct my statement above.
GOOD NEWS!
Ngayon ko lang nalaman that the FIESTA CARNIVAL will stay in Butuan until the month of August for the ADLAW HONG BUTUAN celebration.
I also heard (correct me if I'm wrong) that the company (who owned that Carnival) is renting that lot for 1.5M for the whole duration of their stay here which is from the month of May until end of August. They are also paying Amusement Tax to the city.
Entrance fee is 20.00/head. Rides I heard is 50.00. I am not sure if this amount applies for all the rides, I hope someone can give us info on this :)
::
Hope they will remain in BXU nalang and develop it into a full - fledge carnival...

This enclosed lot is located beside Caraga Square along JC Aquino.

those new bulbs in Osmena Blvd in Cebu City and now in Montilla Blvd here in Butuan are LEDs (light emitting diodes)....they are brighter (white and warm) yet consumes electricity almost half cut of an ordinary sodium (orange/white) bulb.....and emits lesser carbon imprint
the city will surely save much on electricity costs with this new street lighting technology
hopefully our traffic lights will also LEDs just like now in some intersections in Davao and in Metro Cebu

the city is paying 500,000 a month in rental fees to the province of Agusan del Norte (being a provincial property). This move however has earned the ire of a few critics. That the city could have saved 500,000 in rental fees by just utilizing its existing city playground near ANHS without costs to the taxpayers
The plan I believed is for the carnaval to stay til June in time for the Araw ng Agusan Norte

I'm sorry Bob ha, but whoever these "critics" are, they're bitter lang kay na compare na noun ang BIG difference sa previous na mga Carnivals natin. This year is the first time in the history of Butuan that a Carnival has drawn such huge crowd
The message is loud & clear, ayaw lang talagang "Baratin" ni Mayor Amante ang mga Butuanons that is why he gave us the best Fiesta Carnival experience ever and at the best location pa :)

If chowking's transfer will push through in that new location, they will have the advantage over Jollibee & Mang Inasal since they will be the nearest to MJ Santos Hosp.& Prince hotel.

yes Reg......that huge lot fronting Fatima Foods along Baan Km3 is one of the Plaza properties together with the one fronting BDO-JC Aquino......pero SM was more keen on acquiring the JC Aquino Ave property.
pang future SM na lang daw na sa Baan.
grabe ang foresight sa mga high caliber na negosyante like SM, very foreward looking and with foresight...that's why the Baan property is still in their radar screens

coffeeworld May 16th, 2011, 06:07 PM Guys, Let me correct my statement above.
I am not sure if this amount applies for all the rides, I hope someone can give us info on this :)

nope. It's 1.6M ma0 kun0 na gibayad, acording to my mom...nindot man diay ang carnaval binili pa galing korea...

May I ask if the Robinsons lot in Butuan is still idle? June is already rainy season, not ideal to start constructiion. One time there was a talk here about groundbreaking, so what happened to that? Thanks.

if you're in caraga, the month doesn't matter when it comes to construction coz we only have 2 seasons here. WET and VERY WET. no pronounced dry season.
how about in zamboanga? nag-groundbreaking na ba?

wow....the earlier version of the Jabee in bayanihan was that near Dotties.....
the Estacio version is much better.....much nearer to a school and a hospital....an ANECO office plus a big upper middle class subdivision right smack at the door step
so Dr Estacio's plan to build an extension BDC and BDH building to that corner lot is scrapped to give way to a Jabee development?
jsl_bxu1206 May 17th, 2011, 10:29 AM we don't know what their plan is. it's possible that they will push thru with that school building with rentable spaces just like in FSUU Main Gym.

they SHOULD push thru.....considering the return of investment on rentable space can bring to BDH coffers.
Right now, the source of income of BDC and BDH are just the hospital and school and the rents of clinics by the MDs...
what the top management need to realize that growth is coming right their way.... they need to cash in on that by pushing thru with their plan

jsl_bxu1206 May 17th, 2011, 02:18 PM Presence of 2 Phl Azkals football team members add color to Balangay Festival in Butuan
by Robert E. Roperos
BUTUAN CITY, May 17 (PIA) – In time with the Balangay Festival celebration of this city, two members of the Philippines Azkals football team graced the opening of the Balangay Football League held Monday at the city’s Sports Complex in Barangay Libertad here.
Azkals Kim Relucio and Jerry Barbaso arrived in Bancasi Airport Monday (May 16) to grace the football sports competition, the first to be held in this city, which is also held in time with the annual feast of the city in honor of Patron Saint – Saint Joseph the worker on May 19.
According to Butuan City Vice Mayor Lawrence Lemuel Fortun, the first Balangay Football Festival aimed to promote football in Caraga Region as the said sports discipline is becoming popular here in the country because of the successful undertakings of the Philippines Azkals Team.
Fortun also said the league sponsored by the city government of Butuan and the Butuan-Agusan del Norte Football Association where he is the President has gathered around 50 participating football teams from other cities and provinces in Mindanao, including Davao, Bukidnon, Cagayan de oro City, and the host region-Caraga.
Further, the official said big cash prize awaits the winners which will be awarded tomorrow during the closing and awarding ceremonies.
Meanwhile, to promote the history and culture of the city, a river cruising on board “Sam Tawi-tawi,” a replica of the ancient boat balangay will be conducted daily at the famous Agusan River here, the longest river in Mindanao.
In an earlier press conference, the city tourism office said the river cruising is one way of promoting the rich culture and tradition of Butuan City by tracing the journey of the Balangay in Agusan River where according to local historians here, the river played significant symbol to the richness of culture and heritage of the city.
Further, tonight, nine candidates will vie for the title of Mutya Hong Butuan 2011 where according to Therese Fortun, Executive committee chairperson, the pageant will evolve on the history of the journey of Balangay.
The Balangay or Balanghai is the first wooden watercraft ever excavated in Southeast Asia. Also known as the Butuan boat, this artifact is evidence of early Filipino craftsmanship and their seamanship skills during pre-colonial times.
The Balanghai Festival is also a celebration in Butuan, Agusan del Norte to commemorate the coming of the early migrants from Borneo and Celebes, on board the Balangay boats.
When the first Spaniards arrived in the 16th century, they found the Filipinos having a civilization of their own and living in well-organized independent villages called barangays. The name barangay originated from balangay, the Austronesian word for "sailboat". (PIA-Caraga)

msbunnybxu May 18th, 2011, 07:08 AM they SHOULD push thru.....considering the return of investment on rentable space can bring to BDH coffers.
Right now, the source of income of BDC and BDH are just the hospital and school and the rents of clinics by the MDs...
what the top management need to realize that growth is coming right their way.... they need to cash in on that by pushing thru with their plan
sayang ang opportunity if dili nila dayunon
Estacio also owns that property & building rented before by NAPOCOR/National Grid in JCAA.

Higit 2,000 tricycle operators sa Butuan City, nakabenisyo sa Pantawid Pasada program

http://www.bomboradyo.com/index.php/news/more-news/53119-higit-2000-tricycle-operators-sa-butuan-city-nakabenisyo-sa-pantawid-pasada-program

Int'l peace group to conduct forum on jury system in Butuan City
05/13/2011 | 10:42 AM
BUTUAN CITY — An international non-government organization seeking to propose a judicial system that would help poor Muslims get immediate justice is set to conduct a forum on the so-called jury system in the city.
Southern Philippines Muslim Unity and Development Association (SPMUDA) said the gathering entitled “Public Forum on the Introduction of Jury System and Empowerment" is tentatively slated on June 12.
The forum, themed “Matuwid Na Hustisya laban Sa Katiwalian at Kahirapan: Daan Tungo sa Kapayapaan at Kaunlaran," will tackle how a jury system works in the country and how it will advance Muslims' search for justice.
Lawyer Bertini Causing, founding president of the Hukumang Bayan and Movement of the Jury System in the Philippines, will be invited as one of the speakers of the forum.
SPMUDA organizers said Causing believes that the jury system would speed up the trial of cases in the country, and that it is pro-poor making it suitable to most poor Muslims involved in several legal cases.
In the jury system, decisions are made by a set of jurors, which are not appointed by public officials. Jurors are randomly picked based requirements imposed by a lawful authority.
In an article on its website, a group advocating the jury system in the Philippines said that in a democratic form of government without a jury system, justice is monopolized by those who are in power.
"We may call it [present justice system] as the "Personalized Justice System," specially by the President who appoints all judges, justices, and prosecutors," the group said.
SPMUDA National Development Office director Aliasgar Solaiman said the target participants to the forum are representative from the various sectors, human rights groups, members of the judiciary and academe, and officials from the Integrated Bar of the Philippines.
Solaiman also said they are expecting Butuan City Mayor Ferdinand Amante, Jr. and Vice Mayor Lawrence Fortun to grace the event.
Founded in 1986 with over 375,000 members worldwide, SPMUDA has been promoting the rights and welfare of Muslims in the country. — Ben Serrano/Karlitos Brian Decena/LBG, GMA News

Butuan City gov’t pushes nat’l tourism recognition
By ARJAY S. FELICILDA, Caraga Regional Bureau Chief
http://www.businessweekmindanao.com/2011/05/butuan-city-gov%E2%80%99t-pushes-nat%E2%80%99l-tourism-recognition.html
BUTUAN City — The Balangay Festival 2011 that all started on the 14th of this month, continues tomorrow with the Mutya Hong Butuan Coronation Pageant, topping the list of events.
Chair Rema Burdeos-Erigbuagas of the City Tourism Council said the brain and beauty competition is taking place tomorrow evening at the Father Saturnino Urios University (FSUU) Gym, with representatives from different sectors of the community vying for valuable cash and in-kind awards.
Preceding the pageant is the ABS-CBN Kapamilya Show, with the ‘Mag-TV’ Group from Cagayan de Oro City and singer-actor Sam Conception.
Earlier in the day, the ‘Kaliwatan’ Fun Run will take the Rizal Park-to-City Hall route. Another event that is expected to draw a good crowd tomorrow is the fancy drill exhibition of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) troopers of the Philippine National Police and the Philippine Army.
Lined-up for Wednesday, May 18, are the following events : motocross at Purok 6 Barangay. Malalag; Down to Mars Concert at FSUU Gym; and a sports academy at the Libertad Sports Complex.
All of these are preparatory to the more crowd-getting events highlighting the annual city fiesta, May 19, such as the Balangay Theater Float Parade Competition, Manobo Street Dancing, Agusan Youth Congress, Boxing Engkwentro sa Kapitolyo and the SMB Fiesta Party/Bar Tour at the DBP area.
Completing the month-long Balangay Festival 2011 are the Christian Music and Dance and the grand alumni homecoming of Butuan Central Elementary School (BCES) and Timber City Academy (TCA), May 20.
Dinner-for-a-Cause at Balanghai Hotel, May 27; Miss Silka Caraga at FSUU Gym, May 28; and the 1st Mayor Jun Amante Taekwondo Friendship Games at FSYY Gym, May 29; and the Santacruzan and Flores De Mayo, from the Rizal Park to the St. Joseph Cathedral, May 31.
City Mayor Ferdinand Amante Jr. will also officiate the groundbreaking for a low-cost Gawad Kalinga – Balangayan City Build housing project in Brgy. Pagatpatan.
The festival concludes with the Partners’ Night, May 31, recognizing those who have extended their respective contributions to the celebration.
The Balangay Festival 2011 is one of the tourism-oriented projects of the Amante administration, through the City Tourism Council, chaired by Attorney Rema Burdeos-Erigbuagas.
In a pre-festival conference with the local media, Attorney Erigbuagas quoted “No matter how slow or fast we row, as long as we continue rowing – we can all achieve our aim… that is to make Butuan City one of the top cities in the country.” (with report from Jennifer P. Gaitano, PIA Caraga)

The soon to RISE Building in that vacant lot (photos shown above) she heard will house commercial spaces & a Restaurant. So regjeex's info is correct afterall.
She just couldn't be sure if the owner is Eduhome or Desmark. Basta it's between these two. But we will find out soon :)
She also mentioned that the lot sandwiched between Forever Living & Motorstar will be ONB's site soon. This confirms the info romix shared to us.
Here's the best part
She also revealed that the whole 2,000sq.meters lot where Caraga Square is standing is now put on sale for 50M bucks. Yipeee! finally, mapulihan na gyud ang Caraga square!

http://old.ph.news.yahoo.com/gma/20110517/tph-may-19-a-special-non-working-holiday-ce44f36.html
BUTUAN CITY — Malacańang has declared May 19 a special non-working holiday for Butuan City.
The move came ahead of this city’s annual celebration of the Feast of its patron saint, Saint Joseph the Worker, according to the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) in the CARAGA Region.
May 19 also marks the Balangay Festival here.
According to the PIA, Executive Secretary Paquito N. Ochoa Jr. signed Proclamation No. 166 which declared Thursday, May 19, 2011 a special non-working holiday.

BOB-bXu May 18th, 2011, 11:28 AM GOOD NEWS! ...that enclosed area near Caraga Square is NOT a Gasoline Station! Thank God my brother was wrong when he said he saw the logo of Shell:lol:
Here are my snapshots this morning:

My source of info is one of the in-laws of the De Castro family, owner of the Caraga square Building. Here's what she told us:

Best Pasalubong from Butuan City
Last month, I visited the lovely City of Butuan and discovered the best Butuan pasalubong treat, which is the Ube Biko. The Ube Biko is not your typical rice cake. It exquisitely combines the sweet taste of biko, or rice cakes, and the distinct flavor of ube. You might be wondering why I’m writing this blog, and there’s only one reason: I’m addicted to it!
For many years, my Aunt has always given me pastillas, suman, and other native rice cakes as pasalubong from Butuan. But when I discovered the Ube Biko, boy was I instantly hooked! This was not like the other delicacies that I have tasted. This ube biko is definitely one in a million! It tastes like creamy ube jam combined with the traditional biko. Plus, it has cheese toppings, with the native “lunok” right on top of it! The result is an exquisite mixture of flavors that truly melts in your mouth.
The ube biko is created by Butuan Something Special. Butuan Something Special is a homemade business, with Herminia Faeldo as the main proprietor. She has definitely turned her hobby into a flourishing business, and people just can’t get enough of her pastries! Butuan Something Special is the home of a variety of other desserts, such as chocolate cakes, blueberry cheesecakes, and delicious cookies and cupcakes.
According to the owner, more and more people order the ube biko as Butuan pasalubong treats. Some even take these treats to foreign countries, including the United States, Canada and Australia.
The ube biko has definitely become one of Butuan’s best delicacies. So if you are looking for the best pasalubong treat from Butuan, visit Butuan Something Special for your very own ube biko treat. Trust me, this is one treat that you’ll never forget.

May 18th, 2011
Expects 3 brand-new Airbus A320 in October
The Philippines’ largest national flag carrier, Cebu Pacific (CEB) will increase domestic flights in the 4th quarter of 2011, making available 33% more seats compared to the same period last year.
CEB will take delivery of 3 more brand-new Airbus A320 aircraft in October, allowing the airline to offer the lowest possible fares in the market and mount more domestic flights.
“This is in line with CEB’s continued commitment to promote tourism and economy in the destinations it flies to. Foreign and local travelers can book CEB’s lowest fares to explore the Philippines’ top beaches and diving sites, and attend the country’s most popular fiestas,” said CEB VP for Marketing and Distribution Candice Iyog.
“We currently already offer the most flights and the lowest fares to Cebu and Davao, two key cities in the Visayas and Mindanao, compared to any other airline. Tourists will have faster, easier access to the most extensive route network in the country,” she added.
With this flight increases, CEB will also continue to have the most flights to popular tourist destinations such as Boracay, Coron, Dumaguete and Cagayan de Oro. CEB will increase flight frequencies in the following routes:

coffeeworld May 20th, 2011, 10:28 AM Robinsons Land lists shares for
rights offer
GMANews - 7 minutes ago
Property developer Robinsons Land Corp. (RLC)
on Friday listed P13.6 billion worth of shares on
the local bourse to cover the two-for-one offer to
shareholders as of mid-April.
RLC director, president and chief operating officer
Frederick Go said the rights offering, totaling 1.364
billion shares, was oversubscribed with a
number of local and foreign investors taking
additional rights on top of their entitled shares.
Proceeds for the offering will be spent on buying
new sites, building new malls and office buildings
in key cities, and expanding the company’s value
hotel chain gohotels.ph.
At the sidelines of the listing ceremony on the
Philippine Stock Exchange, Go told reporters at
least half of the offering proceeds are for land
acquisition, especially for more sites in the
provinces.
"The intention is to deploy capital as soon as
possible so we can generate cash flow and
income for the company," he said.
One particular development in the pipeline, Go
said, is the construction of a 200-room hotel in its
five-hectare property in Mactan Island, Cebu, also
the site of AmiSa— a prime leisure estate it is
developing.
In talks with hotel brands
Go said the company is currently in talks with
international hotel brands to operate the hotel in
Mactan. In case none of the deals materialize, the
hotel will be part of the company's "Summit"
brand, he added.
"Currently, we have Summit Ridge in Tagaytay,
and Cebu Midtown Hotel in Cebu, which is
currently undergoing massive renovation," he
said.
Go, however, disclosed that the gohotels.ph
business is at a standstill at the moment, while a
franchisee is looking into opening 20 of such
hotels in the next five years.
"We want to do more than 10 [branches], but the
intention of the company is [for the gohotels.ph
branches] to number at least 30 in the next five
years," he said.
RLC's hotel business accounts for at least 10
percent of the property operations, or the same
contribution as its office buildings division.
At 50 percent, however, shopping malls
dominates RLC's business.
Soon, Go said its office buildings division will
outpace RLC’s other divisions with the rapid sale
of office spaces to business process outsourcing
companies.
RLC said its net income rose almost 17 percent to
P1.01 billion in the first three months of its fiscal
year ending December as revenues increased
almost as fifth to P3.18 billion.— VS, GMA News

DPWH rushes flood control work
By MIKE U. CRISMUNDO
May 21, 2011, 5:33pm
http://www.mb.com.ph/articles/319276/dpwh-rushes-flood-control-work
BUTUAN CITY, Philippines – Thousands of inhabitants in this region’s capital city of Butuan and nearby areas will be benefited and protected as soon as the nine flood control and drainage structure projects are completed, it was learned Saturday.
The Butuan City District Engineering Office (BCDEO), covering the 1st legislative district of Agusan del Norte comprising the City of Butuan and the Municipality of Las Nieves, is working overtime to be able to finish the flood control projects before the rainy season this year.
Region XIII DPWH Regional Director Danilo E. Versola directed BCDEO District Engineer Nicolas Alameda to meet their timeline completion as the rainy season is fast approaching.
The projects were funded under Fiscal Year 2010 General Appropriations Act or Republic Act No. 9970.
The total cost of the projects is P4,708,000.
These projects include the Sosompit Lower Doongan Waterways.
Constant heavy rains and typhoons in northeastern Mindanao have caused flooding incidents in the city.

I have been to Boy's Wine Bar last saturday....despite the downpour that night....the place was packed.....until 1:30 AM....good thing we went there at 9:30 PM..... nice ang crowd and the beer ( a good choice of thai, HK, sighapura etc etc) drinks served very chilled
asian inspired ang wine lounge.....faces of thai Buddha in silhouettes of light offers an ethereal ambience in contrast to the upbeat background music
and most especially, very very affordable ang drinks^^

jsl_bxu1206 May 23rd, 2011, 12:51 PM DepEd-Butuan Division launches Brigada Eskwela today
by Robert E. Roperos
BUTUAN CITY, May 23 (PIA) – The division office here of the Department of Education (DepEd) kicked-off the Brigada Eskwela program today with a motorcade this morning from the Division Office to the Baan Riverside Central Elementary School.
In an interview with a local radio station here, Prof. Israel Reveche said all schools in the division of Butuan City are already prepared for the conduct of the weeklong activity.
“Thus, I am optimistic that the Brigada Eskwela will be successful here as majority of the parents are also giving out their full support of the nationwide program of the education department,” Reveche said.
Meanwhile, DepEd-Caraga also reported that same support was given by parents and schools in the other divisions of the region.
“As early as first week of May, division offices in Caraga have reported that the schools have already started their preparations to see to it that everything will be put in place,” a DepEd official in the region said.
Over the years, the Brigada Eskwela effort has evolved from a week-long cleaning-up and beautification exercise to a festive coming together of students, teachers, school officials, parents, community members, local government officials, non-government organizations, church groups and the private sector.
It, too, has become one of DepEd’s major initiatives in enjoining local communities to respond to the needs of public schools and be part of a nationwide effort towards improving Philippine basic education.
This was made possible by the hard work and determination of school heads in finding innovative ways to bring children to school, keep them there, and ensure that they will learn.
Brigada Eskwela, also known as the National Schools Maintenance Program will not be what it is today, if it were not for the strong leadership in our public schools. (PIA-Caraga)

CCTV camera to help deter crimes, Butuan solon says
by Robert E. Roperos
http://www.pia.gov.ph/?m=1&t=1&id=30227
BUTUAN CITY, May 2 (PIA) -- Congressman Jose S. Aquino II of the first congressional district covering Butuan City and the municipality of Las Nieves in Agusan del Norte recently said the use of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras may help in deterring crimes in a progressive city like Butuan.
PSupt. Francisco Dungo, Butuan City Plice Office (BCPO) Deputy City Director for Operations said CCTV cameras have helped the Philippine National Police (PNP) in other big cities in Metro Manila, Cebu and Davao in monitoring crime incidence.
Cong. Aquino, said he will propose to the city government that they will collectively purchase some 15 cameras to be installed in conspicuous places in the city before the end of this year.
“The introduction of such technology in our locality, I consider, would prevent the occurrence of hideous activities and significantly enhance business opportunities,” Cong. Aquino said.
Closed-circuit television (CCTV) is the use of video cameras to transmit a signal to a specific place, on a limited set of monitors.
It differs from broadcast television in that the signal is not openly transmitted, though it may employ point to point (P2P), point to multipoint, or mesh wireless links.
Though almost all video cameras fit this definition, the term is most often applied to those used for surveillance in areas that may need monitoring such as banks, casinos, airports, military installations, and convenience stores. (PIA-Caraga)

jsl_bxu1206 May 24th, 2011, 08:05 AM DepEd-Butuan to maximize classrooms’ usage as enrollment expects to rise this school year
by Robert E. Roperos
BUTUAN CITY, May 23 (PIA) – With the number of enrollment in the public elementary and high schools expecting to rise in school year 2011-2012, Department of Education (DepEd) Butuan City Division ordered school administrators and teachers to maximize the utilization of classrooms.
DepEd records show yearly increases in enrollment. Thus, the official said school need to maximize their classrooms. “By maximizing, we mean that those classrooms which were not used during the previous years must be cleaned and repaired if needed, so that it can be used by the start of the classes in June,” DepEd-Butuan City Division Public Information Officer-designate and Values Supervisor Prof. Israel Reveche said.
Also, Reveche said the regional office has already set the plan for the construction of additional school buildings. In the meantime, school administrators and teachers should ensure the existing facilities are cleaned and repaired.
Reveche further said this must be included in the work scope of the Brigada Eskwela that is currently conducted this week in preparation for the opening of classes in June 2011. (PIA-Caraga)

http://www.journal.com.ph/index.php/news/provincial/5530-26-undocumented-chinese-held-in-butuan
POLICE arrested the other day 26 undocumented Chinese nationals in two villages in Butuan City.
Supt. Martin Mercado Gamba, Public Information Officer of Police Regional Office (PRO) 13, Caraga Region, said the illegal aliens were arrested by joint elements of Butuan City Public Safety Company and Butuan City police.

jsl_bxu1206 May 24th, 2011, 03:11 PM how about that U/C gas station beside ANECO? di ba kaha na shell? nibalhin lang siguro, hehehe.
Permanent na jsl. That SHELL Station is out na for good, as in forever & ever
That lot where shell station is standing is now up for sale. Guess who owns the lot? tantararan....the De Castro's, same owner of Caraga Square :)
Speaking of Caraga Square's 2,000 sq.lot, I heard they offered it to Manny Pacquio. Sana bibilhin ni Manny, 50M lang naman hehehe...

Same ra man ang owner ng Shell in JCAA & Shell Otis. Basing on the proximity ng ANECO & Otis, I don't think so. But it's possible if iba ang owner.

From what I know, their lease contract expired December 2010 pa and the lot owners didn't want to renew it anymore. Mag-concentrate na lang cla sa Bayugan. (Hai... my second main down).:bash::bash::bash:
jsl_bxu1206 May 24th, 2011, 04:41 PM how did you know about this?

fredrich85 May 24th, 2011, 05:15 PM Guys, am planning to visit your city early next year, any suggestion for interesting sites to tour?
jsl_bxu1206 May 24th, 2011, 05:55 PM here's my suggestion:
1. Butuan National Museum
2. Banza Church Ruins
3. Bo-od Promontory (Site of the First Mass)
4. Balangay Cruise
5. Diosdado Macapagal Bridge
There's a newly opened adventure park which I haven't tried yet. It's called DELTA ADVENTURE in Bonbon. I dunno how to get there but what I know is they have ziplines, ATV rides, pool. You can check on previous pages of this thread to view the photos.
For places to eat or to shop, just browse the "Butuan City Shop and Dine Thread"
if you'll be visiting our place in January then you will be in time for the Kahimunan Festival. The highlight of this festival falls on the 3rd Sunday of January.:)
