Green Summit to save Taguibo Watershed set in Butuan

BUTUAN CITY, Nov. 28 (PIA) -- Partners and stakeholders in the protection and preservation of Mother Earth will convene in a one-day Save Taguibo Watershed: Green Summit on December 2, here.

According to Rev. Fr. John Christian U. Young, lead convenor of the Save Taguibo Watershed Network (STWN), the summit aims to share and consolidate environmental programs/projects/activities (PPAs) of the different agencies, organizations, and institutions and pooling of resources in relation to the protection and preservation of Taguibo River Watershed.

Young also said the event is a venue for the stakeholders to share relevant stories and experiences in the implementation of PPAs related or similar to the Taguibo River Watershed for better appreciation and possible replication of good practices and strategies.

The summit will also present the concept of the proposed pilot comprehensive project in the Taguibo River Watershed area and enjoin the stakeholders to take part in its realization, he added.

The one-day activity will be done at the mini-theater of Fr. Saturnino Urios University Archbishop Carmelo Morelos Campus, Libertad at eight o’clock in the morning.

The STWN was organized in 2009 to protect the Taguibo Watershed Forest Reserve from illegal logging and mining and to help rehabilitate the deforested areas. (NCLM/PIA-Caraga)

BUTUAN CITY, Nob. 28 (PIA) -- Negatibo sa sakit nga malaria ang dakbayan gikan niadtong buwan sa Enero hangtud ni'ng bulana.

Ang maong assessment gipagawas subay na usab sa pagsaulog sa Malaria Awareness Month karong bulana kondiin kabahin lamang kini sa mga nakahan-ay na nilang programa alang sa maong kasa-ulugan.

aircraft's breaking distance depends on several factors....like if the aircraft has a bigger mass due to a full capacity : it has a greater inertial velocity....thus a longer breaking distance from the runway's safety landing zone..... it also depends on runway conditions : a wet runway takes a longer breaking distance to full stop due to lesser frictional opposing forces by the wet runway......asphalt overlaid smooth run way too takes a bit longer breaking distance than concrete ones....

other factors are wind conditions....after winds (wind speeds in front of the aircraft) and behind winds...

the video obviously showed ( aside from showing the city's nice urban sprawl ) the aircraft using the ends of the runway precisely the ends are wider....thus easy to make a u turn-to taxi-to apron maneuvers

it over shoot...but according to investigators...that was due to wind shear...a crosswind phenomenon (not due to runway length) when planes miss the safety landing zones...thereby a much shorter breaking distance.

3. Police visibility increased particularly in Gaisano because of high influx of people
4. The capitol is studded with christmas lights. The fountain is fully functional and is illuminated by lights.

My aunt who happens to live in Barangay Libertad is a school teacher in BCES, so everyday she commutes to go to downtown. One day, she passed by the site of Robinsons and she saw a team of experts from RLC nag survey2x ug inspect sa site. She described what they look like: mestizos, mga pogi ug mga Spanish looking. Robinsons will come very soon na gyud!

guyz, i just noticed that they are now using brighter bulbs for the street lights along JC Aquino Ave....these are of the same kind of bulbs used in Montilla Blvd street lights. this shows how serious our city government is in implementing "greener" initiatives.....from street lights...to watershed rehab....to 1B tree planting, biogas production and more....

Wow, LED na rin ang lights sa JC Aquino.

last year they used some kind of blue led lights....(im not sure though of the technical name of that light)....the effect was nice because they installed the lights side by side the cables.....the blue lights contrast to the yellowish light coming from the street bulbs adds to dramatic effect and makes the Macapagal bridge more magnificent...

saw from our place the fireworks show by the Provincial Capitol....it was simply spectacular and lasted for a couple of minutes....^^.... that was i think the Capitol's way to officially open Christmas and their Christmas lights/fountains....heard the lights were very as grand as the fireworks show they had...we will post the pictures soon....

all that i can say for the Provincial capitol's fireworks display is ''WOW'' the fireworks last for 10 minutes, narec0rd nako ang tanang fireworks du0l ko sa fireworks kaya clear tlga cya na walang harang at ang subrang lapit ko tlga ...i have a pictures of capitol in different c0lors also i have a pic sa fountain....chui gyud kaau ang capitol..mag cge lahi lahi ang 'kolur'...many people were amazed sa beauty sa capitol kar0n...,
