nice kay 2 storey sya... nice og additional nice structure sa downtown... at last mawala gamay ang maut nga mang inasal... na until now naa pa gihapon kabilya ga barog sa taas...:bash:

its very refreshing to see businesses like this still sprouting in the downtown despite the upcoming big commercial magnets in the city's outskirts like Rob Mall in the west and SM City in the east side^^

Here's the GOOD NEWS!

From the corner road passing AVRM Supermarket,the Van Terminal, including the vacant lot where the old Medical building once stood (shown in the last 2 pics), all the way near PNP Sub Station is NOW cleared of bukot-bukot vendors & illegal settlers. As you can see in the photos above, this part of Langihan is now almost looking clean & hopefully green pud once completed. :banana:

Thanks sa inyo and those lurking/surfing the pages. I'm just happy to share the greatimprovements and new business establishments sa atong city through pics.

Pareho tang tanan excited kay nagdungan ang mga constructions and I have been praying for things to happen especially ang rotunda kay I was there when the City Engineer presented the plan didto sa City Tourism Office in 2001 pa! 11 years ago! Ms. Lily Esguerra was then the city tourism officer. I learned in that meeting that there have been visits in the past years by representatives from mainland China and the Chinese Embassy for this project in the name of Friendship between our people nga na establish more than a thousand years.

I thought jud na dili ni matukod for political, bureaucratic and economic reasons. Or matukod man after two hundred years. And now, nasugdan na, I hope matapos ni in about two hundred days from today.:cheers:

Technically it's called a TRIANGLE ROAD JUNCTION or triangulo as we call it.
I tihink there are 5 triangulo sa urban Butuan.

of City Hall. The workers told me it's a project daw of the Freemasons Agusan Valley Lodge. Somebody kindly confirm this. Its a nice marker.

Butuan vice mayor slams local mining board for permit fiasco

BUTUAN CITY, Philippines -- The vice mayor of this city said the city council is set to withdraw a recommendation to allow operations of an ore processing plant after discovering the local mining regulatory board allegedly misled Mayor Ferdinand Amante into erroneously granting a permit to a mining firm the plant listed as its ore supplier.

Vice Mayor Lawrence Fortun said Arc Mindanao Ore Mineral Processing Plant in Barangay Maug is required to have a source of ore before it can be granted a permit to operate.

After vainly trying to find a supplier for several weeks, Arc Mindanao returned to the city council and presented a small-scale mining permit for Mindanao Lixin.

But Fortun said Councilor Virgilio Nery Jr., chairman of the committee on environment, wondered how Mindanao Lixin could have obtained a permit when his body had never deliberated on it.

“We were baffled how come this company has a permit when in fact we don’t remember passing a resolution on that,” Fortun said.

The vice mayor clarified that in fact it was councilor Dr. Councilor Virgilio G. Nery, Jr chair of the committee on environment who first manifested that he did not remember any Mindanao Lixin Company that passed through the environment committee.

“As the father of the Sangguniang Panglungsod I cant allow the SB as a legistative body to be undermined, its authority and integrity. Mindanao Lixin obtained a permit without any resolution from us,” he said.
Fortun said they were not blaming Amante for granting a permit to Mindanao Lixin.

He said the City Mining Regulatory Board had probably told Amante that the firm had complied with all the requirements for a permit, including a city council resolution.

But, Fortun added, as head of the city council, he could not allow the local legislature’s authority and integrity “to be undermined.”

“My point is that if Mindanao Lixin's permit was irregularly obtained then it would follow that the processing plant does not have a legitimate source. So I am pushing for the SB to withdraw the recommendation for the Arc Mindanao Ore Mineral Processing Plant,” he said.

Yesterday Joeric's pics showed only one black cylinder/tube for pile driving but this morning, when I passed by the site, they erected a second black cylinder/tube pero it's much taller than the first one. ^^

per the original plan/time table,the project will be completed by August this year......with the little delay,maybe they will finish it within 4th quarter this yearIf not for some delays, taas taas na unta ang progress sa construction as of this time. Hopefully they can still meet
the target date completion of this project next year.

They are still into site development for now. The house designs offered are much like the 60's - 70's with a neo/techno touch to it. Sleek and elegant.

Butuan to host Student Gov’t Leadership Training program on May

Monday 26th of March 2012 TweetFacebookYahooEmailShareThis BUTUAN CITY, Mar. 26 (PIA) –- This city will play host to this year’s Philippine Higher Education Student Government Leadership Training Program (PHESGLTP), slated on May 5-7 in one of the local convention centers here.

In a press statement, Asian Network of Youth Volunteers (ANYV) Philippine coordinator and United Nations Youth Association of the Philippines (UNYAP) National Vice President for External Affairs Rex Ybañez said the nationwide gathering of student leaders aims to enlighten student government officers on the various roles and responsibilities in handling student governments.

Ybañez also said the training will serve as a venue to attune the student leaders to the concepts of school development and diplomatic endeavors, train them on various leadership strategies, and to address conflicts in student governance.

The 2012 PHESGLTP will highlight the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on Caraga - Iraq Youth Friendship Commitment, an initiative to establish friendship with the Iraqi government through the Iraq Embassy in the Philippines for youth developments.

PHESGLTP is also inviting foreign students through their respective embassies to observe the training for comments, evaluations, and appraisal of training instruments, Ybañez said.

He added that the training creates a country-wide directory of student government for speedy delivery of information on development programs, exchanges, projects and advocacies.

“Once your organization is accredited, it is automatically entered to the registry,” Ybañez added.

Meanwhile, Ybañez said the event builds a Student Government Accreditation System. This is a system of the Institute for Youth Development Affairs of the Philippines that accredits student government organizations in the higher education institutions (HEIs) of the country to establish relationship among them for the promotion of Filipino values, good citizenship, principled leadership, good governance and in the quest for excellent education.

To be accredited, Ybañez added, interested organization must submit two copies of the resolution from the organization duly noted by the advisers/consultants, student affairs director and school president expressing intent to be accredited by the Institute. They must also submit a complete list of officers with their corresponding numbers and addresses, as well as a copy of mission, vision statements and objectives; a copy of the duly ratified Constitution and By-laws or Charter or its equivalent instruments; a copy of this year's Project and Activity Plan; and a copy of the latest Accomplishment Report. “This must be submitted during the said training,” Ybañez said.

This year's theme is "Preparing Student Leaders to Excellence in Service and Commitment" which hopes to prepare student leaders to excellence in service and commitment through various useful instruments on leadership and volunteerism. (RER/PIA 13, Caraga)

Guys, a sub-contractor of FF Cruz of the RobPlace Pangasinan project told me today that he thinks that Rob BXU is more than 2 floors based on the pile driving activities. Kung 2 floors dapat matting lang daw. Sa tan-aw nako considering na wetland na nga site for hundreds of years, mao tingali nag pile drive bisan 2 levels. I dunno, what do you think guys? Nag pile drive coz of the multi-storey hotel?

I would love to see a sprawling yet multi story edifice there.....I think thats the reason why they use those kind of long pile drives....

they can also use the method of deep excavation, removing the loose top soil......then use concrete pour matting of the foundation just like what happened to SM City cebu which directly sits above a reclaimed land from the sea

Mas una gyud daw ang pile driving that can usually takes 4 months according to @ marcjeff03 of Malolos Rob thread.He got this info from some of the workers @ their Rob site. After that mag groundbreaking na daw ayha pa ang official press release from RLC.

Ang ilalagay daw na piles sa site nila ay 1,000. Grabe ang dami naman nyan ano?

A big help to ease the volume of rainwater that has plagued this side of the boulevard during rainy days. Across this is the old, bigger open drainage canal. Sadly, it's congested with (but not full of) trash, I just wanna make that emphasis lest I may be misquoted.

Tuesday 27th of March 2012 TweetFacebookYahooEmailShareThis BUTUAN CITY, March 27 (PIA) -- In preparation for the opening of classes for school year 2012-2013, the Liga ng mga Barangay of this city is fast tracking the construction of the two-building Liga College which is expected to be finished this summer.

The Liga College which is constructed in a two-hectare lot in Barangay Pigdaulan here was established because of the initiatives of the 86 barangays in the city through the Liga ng mga Barangay headed by its President, Brgy. Capt. Nestor Amora of Brgy. Banza.

The project is also supported by the city government through Mayor Ferdinand Amante, Jr. who approved the allocation of some P2 million for its construction.

Accordingly, the fund comes from the 20 percent of the city’s economic development fund. Last year, said project was also allocated with some P1.1 million from the Community Development Assistance Fund (CDAF) of the city last year, while P1.5 million was allocated this year of the same assistance fund.

Meanwhile, Abante Mindanao (ABAMIN) Party-list Representative Maximo Rodriguez has also extended some P1 million when the latter visited the city early this year.

It was learned that business and entrepreneurship courses will be initially offered by the school this coming school year to mold young businessmen and entrepreneurs of the city.

The Liga College is the first institution in the country established through a Liga ng Barangay. It aims to help poor but deserving students to receive college education with scholarship grants given to those who will qualify. In an early interview with a local radio station here, Brgy. Capt. Amora said the school will offer scholarship to more than 600 students in the city.

This is one of the priority projects of the Liga ng mga Barangay here in support to the Social Development Agenda on Education, as embodied in the Regional Development Plan of Caraga Region. (PIA-Caraga)

Ganahan but they still have alot of work to do. Dapat butangan pud ug drainage ang uban part sa siyudad nga dali ra malubog sa baha in just a few minutes with strong rains. Pagkahuman ana, i-aspalto na dayon ang boulevard. I have observed nga very "bitin" ang ilang pag aspalto kay gikan sa PMDC building hangtod sa kadtong vulcanizing shop atbang sa CESIA Building (DFA Regional Consular office/Bank of Commerce). :bash:

power barges produce diesel generated power...ANECO has now a plan to tap the supply of a coal fired power supplier from Saranggani for its back up demand for Butuan

Ug nganong diddto man jud sa suok ang DOST Reg office nga arang kalayo man.... BTW, duol ra ang office sa DOST og sa Agricultural Technology Institute or ATI.... og ang Carabarao Regional Center...

no worries Romix. dli lang man ang building ang importante... though nice tan-awon sya kung glass building or whatever.. pero ang importante diha ang quality education... sooner or later mabutangan ra nag mga nice buidling... kung tagaan og budget sa government.. :bash:

Yep! naka agi nako diha nanguha mig bayabas padulong sa balay sa akong classmate sa una... layo jud... naa man boundary fence (barb wire).... padulong sa brgy lemon ang lain na part sa boundary og apil na ang brgy basag...see? ana ka lapad ang CSU.... :bash::lol:
