Power from irrigation system scan ease Mindanao crisis
THE government is now looking into the possibility of using irrigation systems to ease the power crisis in the Philippines particularly in Mindanao. The Department of now in talks with the Department of Energy to finalize a project which will use irrigation systems to produce electricity. “Irrigation systems could supply 15 megawatts of electricity in the country daily. [Power produced from irrigation] could be cheaper than that produced by private power generators,” said Agriculture Secretary Proceso J. Alcala in a statement. The National Irrigation Administration (NIA), an attached agency of the DA, noted that Japan is already using irrigation systems to supply electricity.
NIA Administrator Antonio Nangel said the system is easy to set up since it will require the installation of a turbine engine in an irrigation canal to turn it into a “mini-hydro powerplant.” The government noted that Japanese investors are keen on undertaking a project which will make plans push through, Filipino families could start getting electricity using this scheme by May 2013.

sooner or later this floating resto will become synonymous to butuan.....^^
Heard over 88.7 Real Radio this morning....
Mayor Jun Amante revealed that this resto barge is just for the fiesta. The barge is borrowed from Equi-Parco Const., and this project is just a pang 'kati' or prime or example to any prospective businessman that such a business will click. It's like a feasibility study the kamikaze way. Guys, this Resto theme is GREATand doing very well. For now, kung moadto ka by 8:30pm hurot na ang food. Beer and soda na lang.
Joeric May 2nd, 2012, 03:57 AM i appreciate aneco's effort to make public the curtailments skeds...i think it is the 1st if not the only electric coop to do this...it manifests their high value for accountability and commitment...this is also the least they can do to appease the angry consumers
I think so too, murag ANECO ra nag extra effort to publish a curtailment sked. Good job despite the bad news it brings.

BROADCASTER GMA Network, Inc. is seeking a permit to put up a television station in Butuan City, documents from the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) showed.
The broadcaster on April 23 applied for a certificate of public convenience to install, operate and maintain a five-kilowatt ultra high frequency TV station in the Agusan Del Norte city.
“It is respectfully prayed unto this honorable commission that the foregoing exhibits be admitted in evidence and that the corresponding order be issued as may be proper under the circumstances,” GMA Network said in an NTC filing.
Already, the company has an affiliate station in Butuan City. However, affiliate stations are not owned by the company, they are usually owned by local Filipino businessmen who rebroadcast the broadcaster’s originating signal during specific time block for negotiated fixed fees, according to GMA Network.
The company, as of 2011, operates a total of 74 TV stations throughout the country, 35 of which are in Luzon, 18 are in Visayas and the rest are in Mindanao, according to the network’s annual report.
GMA Network ended the previous year with P1.715 billion net income after tax, down by 39.01% from P2.812 billion recorded in 2010 due to the absence of political advertisements seen in the 2010 election year.
The company is looking to spend P650 million this year, largely for two regional stations in Ilocos and Bicol.

Joeric May 2nd, 2012, 11:10 AM SP employs Biometric Facial Recognition for Time Keeping
IAMJHAZZ ♦ MAY 2, 2012
The Sangguniang Panlungsod of Butuan City is now the only office in the City Government which is employing a biometrics using facial recognition in the employee’s daily time keeping.
Already commonly used worldwide, the system has cut down administrative works with less human intervention in the processing of the employee’s daily time keeping. “Biometric face recognition works by using a computer to analyze a subject’s facial structure. Face recognition software takes a number of points and measurements, including the distances between key characteristics such as eyes, nose and mouth, angles of key features such as the jaw and forehead, and lengths of various portions of the face. Using all of this information, the program creates a unique template incorporating all of the numerical data. This template may then be compared to enormous databases of facial images to identify the subject. It is typically used in security systems and can be compared to other biometrics such as fingerprint or eye iris recognition systems” (Google). With its high-tech features, it is also seen to curb unscrupulous employees who logs in and out of the office through other employees even if they are not physically present. Additionally, the SP has also installed closed-circuit television (CCTV) in its office mainly to enhance the security and surveillance purpose of the office. These systems are just some of the many reforms initiated by Vice Mayor Lawrence “Law” Fortun since he assumed Vice Mayor and head of the SP in 2010.

Joeric May 2nd, 2012, 12:40 PM Hydropower Plant In Caraga Up
By MIKE U. CRISMUNDO
May 1, 2012, 6:01pm
BUTUAN CITY, Philippines – Residents of the Caraga Region have something to look forward in terms of having a sufficient power supply after a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed here Monday between a local company and a Japanese-based firm for the construction of a run-of-the-river type hydropower plant in Agusan del Norte.
The Wikipedia site describes the run-of-the-river (ROR) hydroelectricity as a type of hydroelectric generation where little or no water storage is provided. Run-of-the-river power plants may either have no storage at all, or a limited amount of storage, in which case the storage reservoir is referred to as pondage.
The significant signing was witnessed by top local government officials led by City Mayor Ferdinand Amante Jr., Agusan del Norte Governor Erlpe John M. Amante, and Butuan City Chamber of Commerce president Omar Andaya.
While the main signatories of the MOA are Asiga Green Energy Corporation (AGEC) under project implementer Equi-Parco Construction Company (EPCC) led by its president Engineer Ronnie Vicente C. Lagnada, Chodai Co. Ltd. led by its president Yasuji Nagaya, Twin Peak Hydro Resources Corporation (THRC) represented by its vice president Motohide Takano, and Hydro Resources Management and Consultancy Inc. represented by Hendrick R. Manegdeg.
Under the MOA, the signatories agreed to help one another for the construction of an initial eight-megawatt run-of-the-river type hydropower plant at a portion of the Asiga River in Barangay Pangaylan, Santiago, Agusan del Norte.

The frequencies that GMA/Republic Broadcasting System have in Butuan are:
1179 kHz DXYK-AM "Super Radyo" - for some reason wala ni dayon, pero ang structure sa Brgy Baan naa pa.
99.7 mHz DXYK-FM "Campus Radio" - high ratings with poor local sales, di pwede, so stop oprations.
TV-29 DXYK-TV "GMANewsTV" - nag test broadcast in 2010 kadtong "Q" TV pa.
None of these frequencies are 'alive' for now. The article above might mean GMA will take Ch17 or Ch27 as there are few channels left in the UHF Band in Butuan.
SJIT owns Northern Mindanao Broadcasting System, NMBS Inc. currently airing GMA7 programs since 1992, and surely will soon look for other programs to air.
Trivia: Did you know there are at least 17 NTC-registered TV stations in Butuan?

I agree with xtian87.. dili man bukot2 ang abs cbn sa butuan. Im not sure kung asa ang gipasabot ni Franz-bxu ang bukot bukot..
We are lucky enough that we have TV Patrol Caraga stationed in Butuan. Mas updated na ang mga Butuanons sa current affairs and issues happening in Butuan City and Caraga Region as well. Sa una, mu rely ang mga tao sa am radio stations just to keep updated on the local event. Pero sa mga bagong generation karon, kinsa man ang maminaw na sa radyo? Naa man gihapon maminaw pero dili na ang tanan. Masnindot man ang tv.. db? hehe
I hope that in the near future, mas i update lang guro ang facilities sa TV station sa butuan para mas nindot sa ang service ang ila pwedeng ihatag sa ato.

They dont need to construct a multi storey building for a regional TV station. As long as their station can transmit a big area, okay na. Like here in Cebu, di baya ingon nga dako ang stations sa GMA and ABS.. Naa silay compound pero their infra is not big. Gamay ra man gani..

Di man guro welcome back.. Murag wala pa man jud GMA ang Butuan before. Like what the news article said, naay mga receiving stations sa butuan na dili owned by the TV stations. Kadtong naa sa SJIT, mao na ang receiving station sa GMA, which is not owned by GMA.

I am just wondering why ABS CBN Butuan has no TV airtime that feautures culture/community/events in Butuan.....there used to be SILIB and other TV mag programs but was not continued....I am also wondering why ABS CBN does not feature a full coverage of any festival here in Butuan considering its length of operations here in Butuan.....they also do not have a full studio....and no FM nor AM station for that matter
what they broadcast instead are usually festivals of some far flung city which residents in Butuan have no pakialam about whatsoever tsk tsk

BXU-GCP May 3rd, 2012, 07:38 AM So they will construct their own building. :cheers:Unta multi-storey aron ma-cover ang tibuok Caraga. Mosunod na dayon ang ABS-CBN.
Bisan dili sila motukod ug building, the planned GMA UHF TV Station in Butuan will be 5 times stronger ang power with that of ABS-CBN Channel 11. 1K lang ang sa ABS, GMA will put a 5K station.
There is also a possibility that this new station will carry the feed for GMA News TV or pwede ang NMBS Channel 7 will relay GMA News TV and the new station will broadcast the mainstream GMA channel.
I agree that once the company owned TV station of GMA goes on air, their Radio Stations (DXYK-FM 99.7 and DXYK-AM 837 or 1179) will be resurrected next.

As of the moment, we are keeping the plans among ourselves. :) ABANGAN! Naay special programming this month for the Silver Anniversary of Balangay Festival.. and MORE! Dili sah nako ispoil. All happening this month of May. Only in ABS-CBN! This proves ABS-CBN's dominance in the City of Butuan.
SILIB was dissolved to give way for MAG TV NA, ATO NI - produced in CDO and aired over CDO, Iligan, Dipolog and Butuan stations. Conflict kung mag air mig 2 ka magazine show. Recently nianhi man sila sa CARAGA to shoot. Naa pa gani mga wala na air. Permi man sila galibot sa northern Mindanao.
For events in Butuan, we can always watch TV Patrol CARAGA for updates.
Also, what do you mean by "full studio"? Our studio has always been serving its purpose very well for TV Patrol. Not as big though compared to our primary stations.
Dili lang sah nako matubag ang question about sa FM. But for the AM, ABS-CBN only has AM stations in Manila, Cebu and Davao - the key cities in each geographic location. :)
mm17 May 3rd, 2012, 07:41 AM GENERAL SANTOS CITY—The SM chain of shopping malls is opening its largest mall in Mindanao in General Santos City early next year, Hans T. Sy, president of SM Prime Holdings Inc., said on Monday.
Local businesses and mall owners who feel threatened by the P2.5-billion shopping center were assured by Sy that the SM mall would “enlarge the [local] pie and would not saturate the market.”
He said SM’s presence as a retailer would enlarge the retail sector in the city, citing its experience in Pampanga and Baguio, where SM “brought in the businesses from the nearby areas to the host city.”
“It’s not really a question of saturation; it’s about bringing excitement to local business,” he said.
As for fears of terrorist bombings that occasionally hit this southern city, Sy told reporters, “If we wait for the peace and order to be ensured, we would not be here now.”
Sy turned over to the city government an additional two lanes for San Miguel Street, which traverses the back portion of the mall, and spans 466 meters long. SM has also installed a P53-million drainage system, which would benefit a section of the city at the side of the SM mall in Lagao district, north of downtown GenSan.
The mall structure, now nearly finished, covers 150,000 square meters, bigger than the two SM malls in Davao City and the one in Cagayan de Oro City.
Sy said SM would also hire 8,000 personnel, which would help bring additional revenue for this city, which, Mayor Darleen Antonino-Custodio boasted, is the center of economic and financial activities in the region that includes Sarangani, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat and North Cotabato.
Sy also said the SM mall would be designed differently, compared with its first mall in Ecoland, Davao City and in Cagayan de Oro City.
Aside from anchor stores that are common in most SM malls, new stores would be invited to display their products in the new mall. “The common stores would consist of 20 percent of store renters; the new ones 80 percent,” he said.
“We would be bringing in the lifestyle of Manila here, with the same price and style,” he added.
SM is eyeing two more malls in Mindanao within the next three years, he said, citing Zamboanga City and Butuan City as the most likely locations.
He said the acquisition of the land was yet to be concluded in Butuan City.

The answer is MONEY, MONEY, MONEY! ABS CBN is making money out of disasters, calamities, festivals and other events. Even kanang interviews within TV Patrol Caraga is paid. Police, politician, NGO, businessmen and anyone else willing to sit and pay for an appearance disguised as news, pwede!
Pero dili ta ka blame. Negosyo man na. Otherwise jobless si @xtian87.

in fairness to ABS CBN...I do not totally agree on this
BXU-GCP May 3rd, 2012, 07:51 AM The frequencies that GMA/Republic Broadcasting System have in Butuan are:
I disagree that DXYK has poor local sales. I have several friends working with the station before and palaging puno ang ad spots nila. What really happened was a lapse on the GMA admin to renew the temporary permit it got from NTC which resulted to the closure of its stations in Butuan and Zamboanga.
DXYK-AM was on its test broadcast on 837Khz although its approved frequency was 1179Khz. The problem they encountered with NTC resulted to the management decision to put off the air its AM stations in Iligan, Butuan, and CDO na nakapagtest broadcast na. Di man lang sila nakapagregular programming. They already dismantled the towers of these stations located in Baan(for Butuan) and Buruun(for Iligan).

BXU-GCP May 3rd, 2012, 08:00 AM Moreact jud ko coz i work in ABS-CBN. In northern Mindanao, CDO is our mother station. Butuan station is our regional station. In comparison to our primary stations like CDO and Davao, mag differ man jud for many factors. Dili jud pud intawon bukot2 atong ABS-CBN. We are lucky we have our own TV Patrol, Some stations dont have it. Just like any company, we have plans as well. :)
ABS-CBN Channel 11 Butuan is an originating station having local programs like TV Patrol Caraga and Silib. I totally disagree that it is a bukot2 station. Yes karamihan ng ABS stations are merely relay stations and their Butuan station is not one of them.

Just like MAG-TV, mao ra gihapon ang strategy gigamit for Pamahaw Espesyal. Gi-cluster nila ang mga areas for some reasons like the production aspect. In the northern Mindanao area, ABS-CBN has 4 stations, CDO Iligan Dipolog and Butuan. Sa 4 ka station, good enough jud nga naa jud tay TV Patrol CARAGA every afternoon. Joeric May 3rd, 2012, 02:26 PM More than 70 airports nationwide to increase ‘obsolete’ terminal fees
Posted on April 29, 2012 10:39:20 PM
BY CLIFF HARVEY C. VENZON, Reporter
REGULATORS are planning to hike the terminal fees of more than 70 domestic and international airports in a bid to generate funding for their development, an official said.
Abner B. Bondoc, the chief financial officer of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), said the government wants to increase the “obsolete” terminal fees for airports, which are under the CAAP’s watch.
“For instance, the P20 terminal fee in Puerto Princesa have been the terminal fee for the past 20 years, if I am not mistaken,” Mr. Bondoc said in an interview late last week.
“So, we are planning to increase that by P200 or P180. We have conducted the public hearing last April 26,” he said.
Based on the public hearing, Mr. Bondoc said tourists have been asking for improvements in the airports, such as air-conditioning facilities.
Aside from the Puerto Princesa airport, he said the CAAP has also set the hearing schedule for other airports.
“Every airport has a different proposed increase in terminal fee. We are also considering the opinion of the local politicians there while looking at how the purchasing power has changed,” he added.
Mr. Bondoc said there are 82 domestic airports that are under CAAP.
Only the three terminals of Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Diosdado Macapagal International Airport in Clark, Mactan-Cebu International Airport, and Subic Bay International Airport are not under the CAAP.
Transportation Secretary Manuel A. Roxas II earlier announced that the P550 terminal fee for international flights in Ninoy Aquino International Airport might return to P750 per passenger amid the repairs in the airport, which have been described as one of the worst airports in the world.
Meanwhile, the following are proposed passenger service charges in various locations in the county that have airports:
• Puerto Princesa, Busuanga, Romblon, Cuyo (Up to P700 for international flights and P200 for domestic flights);
• Cagayan De Oro, Butuan, Ozamiz, Siargo and Surigao, Camiguin and Iligan, Malabang and Wao in Lanao del Sur (Up to P150 for domestic flights);
• Iloilo, Kalibo, Bacolod, Roxas and Antique (Up to 700 for international flights and P200 for domestic flights);
• Tagbilaran, Dumaguete, Ubay and Siquijor (Up to P150 for domestic flights);
• Zamboanga, Dipolog, Pagadian, Sanga-Sanga, Ipil, Jolo and Siocon (Up to P700 for international flights and P200 for domestic flights);

More than 70 airports nationwide to increase ‘obsolete’ terminal fees
• Puerto Princesa, Busuanga, Romblon, Cuyo (Up to P700 for international flights and P200 for domestic flights);
• Cagayan De Oro, Butuan, Ozamiz, Siargo and Surigao, Camiguin and Iligan, Malabang and Wao in Lanao del Sur (Up to P150 for domestic flights);
• Iloilo, Kalibo, Bacolod, Roxas and Antique (Up to 700 for international flights and P200 for domestic flights);
• Tagbilaran, Dumaguete, Ubay and Siquijor (Up to P150 for domestic flights);
• Zamboanga, Dipolog, Pagadian, Sanga-Sanga, Ipil, Jolo and Siocon (Up to P700 for international flights and P200 for domestic flights);
• Davao, General Santos, Cotabato, Tandag, Bisilig, Allah Valley and Mati (Up to P700 for international flights and P200 for domestic flights);
• Legaspi, Naga, Masbate, Virac, Daet, Bulan and Sorsogon (Up to P150 for domestic flights);
• Laoag, Tuguegarao, Basco, Baguio, Cauayan, Itbayat, Palanan, Bigan, Bagabag, Lingayen (Up to P700 for international flights and P200 for domestic flights.);
• Tacloban, Catarman, Calbayog, Ormoc, Biliran Hilongos and Maasin (Up to P150 for domestic flights);
• San Jose, Marinduque, Alabat, Jomalig, Lubang, Plaridel, Mamburao, Iba, Pinamalayan, Wasig, Calapan, Baler (Up to P150 for domestic flights).

BUTUAN CITY -- The Rotary Club of Sebastopol, California, USA and the Rotary Club of Metro Butuan have recently joined hands in a Rotarian way to serve and adopted Barangay Tag-abaca, this city, to implement its livelihood assistance projects.
Rotarians husband and wife team Frank and Kathleen Mayhew and Rotarian Barbara Beedon, all members and officials of the Rotary Club of Sebastopol, California, USA have recently flew in here in Butuan City from U.S. to see for themselves Barangay Tag-abaca.
In a press conference here Wednesday evening held at the Rajah Kulambo Function Room of the Mazaua Island Resort here, Garcia said one of the identified projects so far for the initial livelihood assistance was dispersal of about 60 piglets and ten cows for breeding which will be distributed to identified family-beneficiaries.
“We are only replicating our success in Barangay Nongnong here in Butuan City amidst all trials we overcome as the Rotary helped to make a difference in people’s lives in the area through livestock dispersal and construction of Barangay Water System in the area” Garcia said.
Kathleen Mayhew who is former president of the Rotary Club of Sebastopol, California, USA, with her husband, Frank, are Rotarians who have also engaged in similar projects in Uganda.
Under the Adopt a Village Program, a Rotary club in the developing country like Philippines selects a village, assesses its needs, and designs a project with health, food production, and education components as priority areas of concern.
The American Rotarians said during the news conference that in the Barangay Tag-abaca adopt a village project, the Rotary Club of Sebastopol, California, USA with the Rotary Club of Metro Butuan will implement the project that will usually cost in the estimates of $30,000.
Joeric May 3rd, 2012, 02:45 PM CCTVs to be installed soon in Butuan City streets, commercial areas
By Ben Serrano, PNA and U.S. News Agency / Asian
Close circuit television (CCTV) will be installed soon in major Butuan City thoroughfares and busy commercial areas, says Caraga PNP regional director Chief Supt. Reynaldo S. Rafal.
This developed after Butuan City Congressman Jose “Joboy” Aquino, II signed Memorandum of Agreement with the Philippine National Police (PNP) Caraga regional office for the CCTV project.
Rafal claimed the CCTV project aims to provide close security monitoring system to all major thoroughfares and commercial areas to deter crimes.
“The CCTV will conduct 24/7 monitoring and quick respond system that will enable our Butuan City cops to respond as quickly as possible to specific areas and specific targets because they are now identified by our close circuit monitoring system” Rafal said.
Rafal thanked Congressman Aquino for providing funds from his PDAF for the project.
“Here in Butuan Ciity most CCTVs only confined inside every business establishments, banks and other offices but there is no CCTV available outside establishments” Rafal said.
Rafal added that installing CCTVs will not only deter crimes and help police investigation, “It will also let criminals think twice in their sinister plots to rob, steal, other crimes against properties and individuals or whatever criminal acts criminals plan”, Rafal said.
However, Rafal asked public support and cooperation for the project, saying without public awareness and involvement in the fight against criminality, the aim for installing CCTVs is fruitless and meaningless

We are lucky enough that we have TV Patrol Caraga stationed in Butuan. Mas updated na ang mga Butuanons sa current affairs and issues happening in Butuan City and Caraga Region as well. Sa una, mu rely ang mga tao sa am radio stations just to keep updated on the local event. Pero sa mga bagong generation karon, kinsa man ang maminaw na sa radyo? Naa man gihapon maminaw pero dili na ang tanan. Masnindot man ang tv.. db? hehe
I hope that in the near future, mas i update lang guro ang facilities sa TV station sa butuan para mas nindot sa ang service ang ila pwedeng ihatag sa ato.
With the wide coverage of ABS-CBN Butuan, it really deserves an independent, separate modern facility with modern equipment. Dako kaayo ang market share sa ABS-CBN diri. By the way, are the Iligan and Dipolog stations located in Bayantel Buildings too? :)
Joeric May 3rd, 2012, 03:04 PM Cokaliong acquires new ship
By Ehda M. Dagooc (The Freeman) Updated May 03, 2012 12:00 AM
MANILA, Philippines - While passenger-cargo business still poses promising outlook in the Philippines, shipping giant Cokaliong Shipping Lines, Inc., added another ship to its fleet, as it recently acquired the (more or less) 3,000 gross tonnage M/V “Ferry Nagasaki” from Nagasaki City, Japan.
The company, which shelled out about US$2 million for the acquisition of the boat (excluding renovation), targets to have the boat’s commercial maiden voyage by end of February next year or early March of 2013.
In an interview with Cokaliong Shipping Lines, Inc., Founder, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chief Operating Officer (COO) Chester Cokaliong, he said M/V “Ferry Nagasaki” is the 9th ship of the company’s fleet, after it sold the M/V Filipinas Surigao recently to Roble Shipping Lines, Inc.
Cokaliong said the company had to give up the M/V Filipinas Surigao together with its franchise route Cebu-Baybay, Leyte, as the ship was too small for the company’s average operations.
The entry of M/V “Ferry Nagasaki” to the Cokaliong’s fleet will fill the void of the lack of passenger boat transportation services specifically in potential routes in Mindanao, such as Cagayan de Oro City, and Nasipit, Agusan del Norte (for passengers bound to Butuan City).
The M/V “Ferry Nagasaki”, is a twin-sister of the company’s 2011 acquisition, M/V Filipinas Iligan, although M/V “Ferry Nagasaki” is four-years younger, Cokaliong said.
Just like the M/V Filipinas Iligan, the M/V “Ferry Nagasaki”, which has a cruising speed of 15 knots, is so far one of the very few ships in the Philippines that have three auxiliary engines—as most ships only have two back-up auxiliary engines, to aid in case of breakdown of other engines.

netpal May 3rd, 2012, 04:43 PM i commend GMA's move to operate their own station in Butuan....this is good news for Butuan in many respects.....this will generate employment,harness local talents,promote the city and elevate the city's status in the philippine media mapGMA readies Butuan station

http://www.bworldonline.com (http://www.bworldonline.com/content.php?section=Corporate&title=GMA-readies-Butuan-station&id=50965)
Shares of GMA slid by 1.96% to P9.98 on Monday. -- Cliff Harvey C. Venzon
netpal May 3rd, 2012, 05:00 PM i definitely agree with most of you that our ABS CBN Butuan is not bukot2x.....it is dynamic,creative,competitive and produces programs that are even comparable to productions of bigger stations despite the resource constraints.....and it continues to dominate.....with GMA's bold move in Butuan,it needs however to become more aggressive....xtian tell ur team and higher mgt in Manila to improve your facilities and give you more resource to produce or upgrade programsMoreact jud ko coz i work in ABS-CBN. :)
Kung mag materialize ang local version sa 24oras, unsa kaha ang ipangalan sah? Hehe.. Dire cebu kay Balitang Bisdak man. Hehe
any plans for an early morning TV show that is purely Butuan and around Caraga? the current Pamahaw Espesyal from CDO has no relevance and use to Butuan and Caraga whatsoever.....what they plug about Caraga or butuan are just short clips...but not fresh news but rather just run down history of events for the week.
very sayang especially that one of the managers in ABS CBN Normin happens to be from Butuan tsk tsk tsk
in fairness to ABS CBN...I do not totally agree on this
Business is business. But i beg to disagree that every news item that we have is paid. We place paid materials or features on the commercial gap. Our news people always refer any client to me as their account executive. They dont even do the voice overs for paid features. Otherwise, unsaon nalang ang credibilidad nila. We have proper ethics. :)

netpal May 3rd, 2012, 05:32 PM what an increase..... from 20 to 150..... when is this effective?More than 70 airports nationwide to increase ‘obsolete’ terminal fees
• Puerto Princesa, Busuanga, Romblon, Cuyo (Up to P700 for international flights and P200 for domestic flights);
• Cagayan De Oro, Butuan, Ozamiz, Siargo and Surigao, Camiguin and Iligan, Malabang and Wao in Lanao del Sur (Up to P150 for domestic flights);
• Iloilo, Kalibo, Bacolod, Roxas and Antique (Up to 700 for international flights and P200 for domestic flights);
• Tagbilaran, Dumaguete, Ubay and Siquijor (Up to P150 for domestic flights);
• Zamboanga, Dipolog, Pagadian, Sanga-Sanga, Ipil, Jolo and Siocon (Up to P700 for international flights and P200 for domestic flights);
• Davao, General Santos, Cotabato, Tandag, Bisilig, Allah Valley and Mati (Up to P700 for international flights and P200 for domestic flights);
• Legaspi, Naga, Masbate, Virac, Daet, Bulan and Sorsogon (Up to P150 for domestic flights);
• Laoag, Tuguegarao, Basco, Baguio, Cauayan, Itbayat, Palanan, Bigan, Bagabag, Lingayen (Up to P700 for international flights and P200 for domestic flights.);
• Tacloban, Catarman, Calbayog, Ormoc, Biliran Hilongos and Maasin (Up to P150 for domestic flights);

The American Rotarians said during the news conference that in the Barangay Tag-abaca adopt a village project, the Rotary Club of Sebastopol, California, USA with the Rotary Club of Metro Butuan will implement the project that will usually cost in the estimates of $30,000.
netpal May 3rd, 2012, 05:37 PM this is timely and very relevant project...i hope they will install the cctv starting this monthCCTVs to be installed soon in Butuan City streets, commercial areas
However, Rafal asked public support and cooperation for the project, saying without public awareness and involvement in the fight against criminality, the aim for installing CCTVs is fruitless and meaningless

netpal May 3rd, 2012, 05:39 PM super nice news.... new boat and sked for butuanCokaliong acquires new ship
Just like the M/V Filipinas Iligan, the M/V “Ferry Nagasaki”, which has a cruising speed of 15 knots, is so far one of the very few ships in the Philippines that have three auxiliary engines—as most ships only have two back-up auxiliary engines, to aid in case of breakdown of other engines.

coffeeworld May 3rd, 2012, 06:53 PM As of the moment, we are keeping the plans among ourselves.
0h God! For the Mean Time Rapud Lagi ng Show for Butuan :bash:, galib0t lagi ng Mag TV na Atoni sa Caraga, Pero Gihatagan ba nila ug maayong Exposure??? Wala Dba? Back to CDO daun ang ginapakita sa TV... It's kinda Useless... Murag Giagihan rag dam truck... Naay pay TV PATROL "CARAGA" pero gabalita ug Balita sa CDO pareha ad2ng nagbuhat ug Small Tunnel sa CDO gi impil man Hinuon sa TV PATROL "CARAGA" este Northern Mindanao. :D :D:bash:
jsl_bxu1206 May 3rd, 2012, 10:22 PM and suddenly, abs-cbn butuan became the hot topic of the week, hehehe.:lol:

i definitely agree with most of you that our ABS CBN Butuan is not bukot2x.....it is dynamic,creative,competitive and produces programs that are even comparable to productions of bigger stations despite the resource constraints.....and it continues to dominate.....with GMA's bold move in Butuan,it needs however to become more aggressive....xtian tell ur team and higher mgt in Manila to improve your facilities and give you more resource to produce or upgrade programs
ABS-CBN Channel 11 Butuan is an originating station having local programs like TV Patrol Caraga and Silib. I totally disagree that it is a bukot2 station. Yes karamihan ng ABS stations are merely relay stations and their Butuan station is not one of them.
any plans for an early morning TV show that is purely Butuan and around Caraga? the current Pamahaw Espesyal from CDO has no relevance and use to Butuan and Caraga whatsoever.....what they plug about Caraga or butuan are just short clips...but not fresh news but rather just run down history of events for the week.
very sayang especially that one of the managers in ABS CBN Normin happens to be from Butuan tsk tsk tsk
Moreact jud ko coz i work in ABS-CBN. :)

Posted under mindanao,news,regional by leo on Friday 4 May 2012 at 6:00 am (RMN Butuan)

My guess is that these guys will work even during fiesta, May 19!:applause:
The picture insert serves two things. I think it was Franz who mentioned about this tarp in the previous pages so here it is, and second I covered a politically-tainted tarp of my cousin. :nocrook: Complete with greetings and of course a not-so-pogi pic.

It seems like this will be another drive thru. By looking at the pics, naay drive thru nga word nakabutang sa Golden Arches para sa pylon.
We can actually solve the puzzle as long as we have all the pieces. Murag naa pa wala naapil sa photo nga imong gi-post.

The design is for the store sa McDo from interior to exterior. Lahi man ang design sa McCafe coz its separate. ^^

Kit-an nako ning tarp gaina around 7pm pagliko nako sa Jabeeli. It's a long tarp. Already dark na for a nice shot. Try nako ugma Franz. Nice gimmick pud ba. Tile-puzzle. But with the heavy traffic, walay time to "solve' it. :)
