jsl_bxu1206 April 16th, 2009, 08:47 PM Cops nab two alleged extortionists in Butuan
abs-cbnNEWS.com | 04/16/2009 3:52 PM
Police have arrested two men for allegedly extorting money from a businessman in Butuan City.
Nabbed were Sostenes Romano and Regalado Situng, residents of Barangay Lingayao, Las Nieves town in Agusan del Norte. They were arrested in an entrapment operation in Barangay Tungao Tuesday morning.
The entrapment operation was set up by police due to the complaint of a copra trader. The trader said the suspects told him they were members of the New People's Army and that they would hurt him if he would refuse to give them P10,000.
Police said the two tried to escape and fired at policemen during the entrapment operation. Situng sustained a gunshot wound to the leg during the encounter.
Seized from the suspects were a .38 revolver with live ammunition and P10,000 marked money.
Charges of robbery and extortion will be filed against the suspects. An additional charge of direct assault to an agent or person in authority will be filed against Situng for trying to resist arrest. With reports from Richmond Hinayon and Trini Velasco, ABS-CBN Butuan

jsl_bxu1206 April 16th, 2009, 08:48 PM Gov’t seizes illegally cut logs in Agusan del Sur
By MIKE U. CRISMUNDO
April 16, 2009, 3:36pm
Talacogon, Agusan del Sur – The government’s anti-illegal logging operation is gaining headway in this region’s timber province with the apprehension of some 1,445 pieces of illegally cut logs that are now temporarily deposited in two designated depository areas here.
Agusan del Sur Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer (PENRO) Sixto C. Badua of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) directed team leader Carmelito A. Dalumay to secure the seized forest products and asked assistance from the police and military so the confiscated forest products will not be stolen by the illegal loggers. At least 1,207 pieces of illegally cut logs are temporarily deposited at the Tamalictic area in San Agustin, while 238 pieces are also deposited at the nearby DENR satellite office in Barangay San Agustin, both of this town.
The seized forest products were jointly apprehended by anti-illegal logging task force led by team leaders Dalumay and Danilo Busa.
The police and military in the area and the “Save Agusan” led by Gov. Ma. Valentina Plaza had also thrown their full support in the forest protection campaign in the province.
Early this month, joint forces of the DENR, local government units (LGUs) and the church also apprehended more than 5,000 pieces of illegally sourced logs from various tributaries of Agusan River.
The seized forest products were immediately brought to the designated depository area in Butuan City.
All the seized forest products were abandoned by the illegal loggers and timber poachers because of the continuing no non-sense anti-illegal logging drive in the two provinces of Agusan.
The big volume of confiscated forest products were also believed cut by the tree farmers and some indigenous people in their lands some time late last year in preparation to make their farmlands into tree plantation.
The seized forest products only came out from the upper stream of Loreto when flash floods hit the province early this year.
The seized forest products is in the final process of scaling and documentation in preparation for public bidding by the Natural Resources and Development Corp. (NRDC), marketing arm of the DENR.
“Our forest protection drive will continue without let up and we also expressed out heartfelt gratitude to Governor Plaza, the church, the LGUs and media for their continuing full support,” said Badua.
Meanwhile, the anti-illegal logging task force is currently checking the alleged sightings of an estimated 700 pieces of illegally cut timber floating along the side of Casilayan River here. Badua ordered the immediate seizure of the said illegally cut forest products if the information is affirmative.

The government must be serious with this matter..There was a speculation that by 2070, we will no longer have safe air to breathe and water to drink.Water is much expensive as gold. Thsi is due to the harmful effect of global warming..I do hope that we can change and act to save mother nature ..

regjeex April 17th, 2009, 10:02 AM well, IMO, filipinos are very concerned about the global warming. I remember sa world economic didto sa Davos, pag speech ni Aroyo, if im not mistaken ingon sya nga you will learn kung giunsa daw pag dala sa economic nga wala man maapektuhi sa recession... standing ovation oi...hehehe basa mo didto sa thread... diba some sort of good news...

jsl_bxu1206 April 17th, 2009, 07:41 PM Filinvest Land Inc. reports P1.87B net income for 2008
Thu. April 16, 2009; Posted: 10:07 PM
FLI said its total revenues amounted to P5.27 billion last year, or nine percent higher compared to P4.77 billion in 2007.
Real estate sales comprised 67 percent of the total revenues amounting to P3.51 billion, or equivalent to an 11 percent growth year-on-year.
FLI reported its rental income likewise grew by 11 percent to P1.13 billion during the same period.
The growth is attributed to higher lease rates on renewed leases, as well as the full-year contribution of two business processing outsource (BPO) buildings that were added in 2008, Plaza D and Building 5132, and the start of the contribution of iHub 1 and iHub 2 during the second half of 2008.
As of Dec. 31, 2008, the real estate developer?s total assets amounted to P53.19 billion, while stockholders? equity stood at P37.96 billion.
FLI?s leverage continued to be very low, with debt-to-equity ratio at only 18 percent and net debt-to-equity ratio of 12 percent
?Despite the current global economic crisis, FLI?s core business of residential housing for the socialized, affordable and middle-income markets, continue to remain robust. Total residential sales reservations for full-year 2008 reached a record P6.6 billion, 32 percent more than the previous year,? the company added.
A significant portion of sales reservations were from FLI?s newest product line ?medium rise buildings (MRBs). MRB projects are inner city projects with several five-storey buildings clustered around the project?s central amenity area.
It also reported that the company currently has four MRB projects, namely: One Oasis Ortigas, Bali Oasis Marcos Highway, One Oasis Davao and One Oasis Cebu.
FLI said another MRB project is in the pipeline, One Oasis Sta. Mesa in Manila.
The real estate developer also reported that it has launched a total of 25 new projects and phases with an estimated sales value of P6.6 billion.
This brought to 71 the number of ongoing projects FLI had as of the end of 2008. New projects include FLI?s first project in Butuan City, Agusan del Norte, called Filinvest Homes Butuan, as well as a new MRB project, Bali Oasis Marcos Highway,? it further stated.
For 2009, the company is targeting to launch 29 new projects and phases with an estimated sales value of Php7.4 billion, across all market segments.
New projects in the pipeline include FLI?s first high-rise project, The Linear, which is ideally located in Makati City.

speaking of protecting mother nature, Butuan is very proud of its citizens who are the primary shakers and movers of the reforestation of Butuan's most natural landmark Mt. Mayapay. For the pst 3 years, the citizens have an increasing and strong awareness of the need to preserve this Butuan icon...and have launched several massive community wide participation in its preservation.
I must say that no place comes close to Butuan for now in terms of this magnitude of involvement as far as environment preservation is concerned.

mike durero April 18th, 2009, 07:34 AM speaking of protecting mother nature, Butuan is very proud of its citizens who are the primary shakers and movers of the reforestation of Butuan's most natural landmark Mt.

Ebdane inspects P995-M bridge project in EV
By: Jess V. Antiporda
PUBLIC Works and Highways Secretary Hermogenes Ebdane recently inspected the P995 million bridge project in Eastern Visayas which is considered as one of the vital road network in the region.
Secretary Ebdane Jr. was accompanied by DPWH Undersecretary for Visayas Operations Rafael Yabut in inspecting the Agas-Agas Bridge project which is now at the stage of near completion.
During the said inspection, Ebdane discussed with the contractors and consultants the possibility of providing a bridge view deck and other additional works such as parking area, rest house, bridge bituminous concrete surface course, bridge electrical provision and other related works.
“Because it is one of the considered engineering feats in the country, the Agas-Agas Bridge has the potential to become one of the tourist spots in Eastern Visayas.” Ebdane said.
DPWH Philippine Japan Highway Loan Project Director Vicente Perez said that the project is now 87% complete, ahead of 8.17% compared to its scheduled accomplishment rating.
“The contractor has completed much of the programmed works because of the good weather condition in the area, if the good weather prevails contractor will complete the project ahead of schedule,” Perez added.
This P995 million bridge project is jointly funded by the Japan Bank for International Cooperation and the government of the Philippines. It is expected to be completed by August 2009.
This bridge project includes the construction of 350 meters of cantilever pre-stressed bridge and 1.15 kilometers of port land concrete cement pavement, improvement of drainage system and construction of slope protection and other structures.
In another development, the DPWH has started the construction of the P 1.7 billion Butuan City-Las Nieves-Esperanza-Bayugan Road, Contract Package VII of Rural Road Network Development Project, Phase III.
Secretary Ebdane Jr. said this project would provide the needed infrastructure facility in the agricultural community and developing industrial center in Butuan City, Agusan del Norte and Agusan del Sur.
This road project includes the connecting of 61.107 kms. of Portland Cement Concrete Pavement. It passes thru the City of Butuan and the Municipality of Las Nieves in Agusan del Norte and the Municipalities of Esperanza and Bayugan in Agusan del Sur.
The project also includes the reconstruction of 6 bridges; 4 bridges for repair and retrofitting; 3 for super-structure replacement and 3 for asphalt overlaying of deck slab.
To date, survey works, clearing and grubbing activities, surplus excavation, fabrication of Reinforced Concrete Pavement Culvert, and erection of concrete batching plant are on going.
The contractor will purchase the additional equipment to speed up the scheduled program of work the report said.
This road project is funded by the Government of the Philippines is expected to be completed by June 2011.

So can we now call BXU as the City of Great Bridges and Highways?
hmmmm.....probably...let's wait until those highways are done
we have 2 major highways ongoing within Butuan catchment area...the
1.) Butuan-Las Nieves-esperanza-Bayugan Project...
2.) Surigao-Davao Coastal Road
and coming in the pipeline
1.) 2nd Phase By-pass Highway
2.) Butuan-Tandag Road
complementing to these is the ongoing airport project and the pipeline port expansion projects of Masao and Nasipit..plus the equally important social infras all over the region
If all these are accomplished in the next 7 years...clearly they are expected to spriingboard Butuan's growth to match those of the primary tier cities in this country

Ka notice ka nga it's the same area where kadtong SunCellular Cell Site is located just behind that house? Kadto gani gi-post nako nga photo before sa previous thread nga cell site beside Habit Pure?
Kanang house behind is not included in the on-going U/C. Residence na siya sa mga Montilla's who originally owned the U/C front lot and the one rented by suncell sa likod sa house.
Just by looking at the fenced perimeter hangtud anang naay gamay nga balay diha sa kilid at the left side, daku baya siya. tan-awon no?

BXU AngelC April 19th, 2009, 02:00 PM speaking of protecting mother nature, Butuan is very proud of its citizens who are the primary shakers and movers of the reforestation of Butuan's most natural landmark Mt.

What is wrong with a private person hiring PR people and media support? All I know he is not using the taxpayer's money in his travels and media exposure. Why we would condemn a man for doing that.
On the other hand, GMA, with all her advantage, could make use as alibi, her acts of governance to camouflage her papogi points.

At least Erap is honest of his intention that he will run in 2010 if the opposition will not unite.

and what is Erap's reason why he is doing that as early as 2 years from the scheduled elections...yet he remains lucky because nobody from the governments camp is even lifting a finger to what he is doing
re GMA's....and what would be the reaction of the people if she just remain in her palace in Malacanang (inorder to avoid of making papogi)
regjeex April 19th, 2009, 03:51 PM ramdam nya because thats what her project. bisan sa gamay nga project or madaku naa jud naa achieve meaning umunlad pa rin.
Again the same with GMA. Gakos gakos kunohay sa mga bulingit nga bata, and then putting huge billboards saying ramdam ang kaunlaran.
Bisan simple road opening or bridge opening to be attended by no less than the President. Over kaayo.
There is no other purpose except to get exposure. Well we cant do anything about it because she is President now.
regjeex April 19th, 2009, 03:54 PM its full of shame kung talagan tatakbo sya.. a convicted ex president of PI will run again for the higher seat :bash::bash::bash: full of SH**T... kakaawa tayo lahat... kakaguilty pag na rinig ng ibang lahi..lalo na dito.. pinagtatawanan ng buong mundo... :bash::bash::bash:
At least Erap is honest of his intention that he will run in 2010 if the opposition will not unite.
On the other hand, GMA remains pa cute on her plans. Even if it is clear that she wants to remain in Malacanang beyond in 2010, be President or Prime Minister through Con Ass, she still keeping her silence as if waiting to catch people unaware.

one for sure I am not voting for Erap...his THEME is the same as that of our trapos today...
there are clean choices out there who are silent, off camera and off press yet diligently working with their responsibilities as public officials

regjeex April 19th, 2009, 03:56 PM me neither... I'd rather vote Miriam than Erap... I dont vote Legarda either and lacson ETC... well see other things about Teodoro...

Who is not a trapo? Look at our SK's. So youg yet so corrupted by the ways of traditional politicians. Do you expect the to rise up and not follow the footteps of their elders.
Its only right for a person to condemn a trapo if the other politicians around are not trapos. Otherwise, it would be awkward to condemn a trapo yet support another trapo.
Ibex April 19th, 2009, 04:09 PM Iba si GMA "happy all" kanya kanyang diskarte lang masaya lahat kaya walang angas. (i hope you got my drift)

its not because too that just beacuse the legs are immeresed in mud, the whole body should be immersed in the mud too..
this is not an exercise whether who is evil and who is the lesser evil...
there are good choices out there...we are just simply lost going around the doldrums and going the easy way taking sides all for mere comfort rather than true ideal convictions

I guess this is the end of the cityhood road for Tandag, Bayugan and Cabadbaran (as far as Caraga is concerned).:ohno:
regjeex April 20th, 2009, 07:05 AM that's OK maybe next requisitions... that's what our local government will have to be careful of making proposals. Dili baya basta basta ang chowking nya kiosk ra ilang gi butang sa Gmall... dapat unta kanang dating bowling center atbang sa Gmall dapat diha sila nag butang no....
