Somehow I have the feeling you'll say that :hilarious Don't you know guys, that camote is responsible for Gretchen Barreto's "body beautiful"?
BOB-bXu August 15th, 2009, 10:33 AM oo amante na sila msbunny Franz... hehhe no wonder nga mo dagan jud ni si Angel Amante pagka mayor...
I am sorry to say...the Amantes...all combined....has a poor development track record... it is quite absurd really somebody coming from a low income class province of AgNor and with a high poverty rate at that...would set sights on Butuan....a first class and highly urbanized city at that....
think of it....its just like allowing a third world leader...manage the affairs of a first world country...how messy that woud be....if I may put it in analogy
BOB-bXu August 15th, 2009, 10:35 AM Somehow I have the feeling you'll say that :hilarious Don't you know guys, that camote is responsible for Gretchen Barreto's "body beautiful"?

regjeex August 15th, 2009, 10:35 AM speaking of villa kananga, diha man diay nag puyo ang Area manager i think whole mindanao area... nickname nya is Semy... spelling? kay ang iyang new hubby man gud is dating brgy captain sa Tiniwisan si Avelino Tabelon... hehehee plugging ni... hehhehe nice diha iyang mansion ba...
Franz-Bxu August 15th, 2009, 10:36 AM What I remember of Mrs.Daisy Plaza was that time when the Butuanons got angry at her when she showed up "DAW???" at Otis Mall supporting that so called "people power" of the Otis family to stop GMALL to enter Butuan? Mura'g kataw-nan sab no? I am not very sure though how true this is but that had been the TALK of the town for quite sometime :ohno: Should she decide to run, basi makabawas "Beauty points" na sa iya? hehehe...Some people might think, basi there'll be another "rally" to STOP ROB??... ...:bash: Guys, tinuod ba gud ni at that time? or tsismis lang?
Are you campaigning now Franz for Joboy? hehe
Nope.. okay ra sa ako kung siya ang mayor. mao ba? kung ingon ana si Daisy, ayaw nalang oi hahaha.. ganahan ko ug mayor nga dako plus nindot ug paglantaw sa atong siyudad as in naa siya'y vision and mission ba.. like vision niya, dako kaayo ang potential nga mahimo ug Metro ang Butuan, so ang iyang mission is to realize the Butuan metropolis... and in order to realize that metropolis, siyempre projects projects projects!!
:hilarious:

I don't know kung nagpa-convert siya. I've met her up close a few months ago.. murag citizen gyud siya ug dating
BOB-bXu August 15th, 2009, 10:49 AM wow... murag atbangan jud nila ang Butuan Doctors huh! og ang FSUU.. diba dugay naman ang medical course sa FSUU? wala jud sila plano mo put up og FSUU hospital?
no plans of a FSUU Hospital Reg

Franz-Bxu August 15th, 2009, 10:54 AM wow... murag atbangan jud nila ang Butuan Doctors huh! og ang FSUU.. diba dugay naman ang medical course sa FSUU? wala jud sila plano mo put up og FSUU hospital?
FSUU has no plans of putting up a hospital. Murag codeshare ang M.J. Santos Hospital and FSUU in terms of the Development of the Nursing Program. And why construct a hospital? FSUU has adequate facilities and equipment inside at the Main and South campus buildings.
BXU-GCP August 15th, 2009, 10:58 AM I had my flight from Manila to Davao last thursday early evening. We passed directly above BXU and you can see the span of the city through the lights you see from above. Yesterday, I took the 2PM King Long Bus bound for BXU. Ang tagal pa rin ng biyahe, dumating ang bus sa BXU around 10PM na.
I had the chance to have a short stroll this morning. I passed by a new branch of EVER BILENA along E Luna St. August 8 pa pala ito nag-open with no less than Francine Prieto as the Guest of Honor. Hindi ito napabalita dito sa SSC kasi puro Mang Inasal ang news during that day. he he he
Opening day naman ng NATASHA sa Libertad. Yes open na ang FORD CDO Butuan Sattelite Display Center occupying the old NISSAN Butuan display Center.
Am having coffee at Cafe Caliente now. I just finished a meeting with somebody from SRBC Bank. In a few minutes I will have another meeting here with another group.
Guys, okay na okay ang Cafe Caliente for coffee, meetings or simply if you want to spend your idle time. he he he he
Leaving for Manila tomorrow afternoon hope i will still have time to dine at ISLAND Restaurant.
Franz-Bxu August 15th, 2009, 11:15 AM no plans of an FSUU Hospital Reg

Yup. The CBE will be renovated into a brand new building. Maybe FSUU Bookstore will use a part of the building as it's office. Ang mga classrooms diha kay ginagamit man gihapon sa college dep't for subjects like Economics, Philosophy, etc.

Yup. But adding his name to the list doesn't mean he's my "pambato" hehehe...

Ate bunns, correction lang gamay, if you count the lanes of Montilla Boulevard, there should be 8-lanes. Pero 4 lanes lang ang nagamit kay gihimo ra ug parking area ang 2 lanes on the left ug 2 lanes on the right.

Franz-Bxu August 16th, 2009, 03:23 AM What's that multi - storey building construction along south montilla blvd.?
Prince Condotel mana imong pasabot, Fahdingding. Actually that was Carl Patrick's Hotel constructed in 1997 but closed down after a few years due to Financial problems and was bought by Metro Bank later on and then bought by a real estate, now they're re-constructing that building.

There's still enough space pa for your mga bitbit. Siguro mas masikip pa yung bandang likuran nung trike :)
Here's a pix to show you.

Ate bunns, correction lang gamay, if you count the lanes of Montilla Boulevard, there should be 8-lanes. Pero 4 lanes lang ang nagamit kay gihimo ra ug parking area ang 2 lanes on the left ug 2 lanes on the right.
Here's what I've edited using Photoshop...(re-installed Photoshop just yesterday)

You're right! kung tingnan xa, 8 lanes pero based sa width nya 6 lanes lang... 4 lanes if you consider the last lane as parking space...

Approx. 8,000 but I'm not sure. Pero igo man diha ang tanan college students sa FSUU.

the width of each lane is a standard sized lanes as this boulevard is a part of a secondary national road system (Butuan-Bukidnon Road) ...

I confirm...any questions?
for a start...Urios Gym was built for the school consumption ...while that of Lagao was built for use by the city with 400 T souls..
the difference is that their height is almost the same...but Urios Gym is a single class seating (no dividers)....while Lagao's bleachers is divided into 3 class level seats...the floor area space in Lagao to the court itself seems narrow....while that of Urios Gym...lapad pa gamay from the bleacher side up to the marked court proper...

If you have time also, if you can stop by at NORMISIST for an update sa ilang universityhood...
wala jud diay sila kapasar sa March AACCUP Accreditation. Daghan kuno gipang-otro ang present admin nga medyo wala makatabang sa pagpasar sa accreditation. The head of the evaluating team was the same head when NORMISIST was evaluated in 2005. All praises sila in 2005, karon mura daghan negative nakita.
BXU-GCP August 16th, 2009, 02:58 PM BXU-GCP is a high profile in Butuan.. hehehehe
ayaw saba rex basi moto-o sila. am back in manila now.
BXU-GCP August 16th, 2009, 03:02 PM Fahdingding,
the 6 lanes sa BXU ay isa lang... ung national maharlika highway from Brgy Ampayon up to bancasi i dont know kung pila na ka kilometers... basta as far as i know from Tiniwisan to BXU proper is 7 klm man cguro.. pero kining Ampayon to Baan soon pa na sya.. hehehe ang U/C is JCAA to Bancasi... so, taas kaayo na nga 6 lane highway......

Have you noticed nga naay gi-construct tapad sa RMN DXBC?
Franz-Bxu August 16th, 2009, 03:13 PM Montilla Boulevard was originally 8-lanes as seen in those pics pero gihimo nalang ug parking SPACE that's why you can say nga 6 lanes lang or 4 lanes. Upat ra jud ka lanes ang ginagamit.

This was the news since 2005, 2006, 2007 & now when sa senate ra jud mosango kay pangayoan dayon Level III Accreditation. Dili na sila mopirma kung naa pa kulang sa requirement. But for me dapat lang. pareho sa nahitabo sa mga gihimo nga city pero bagsak pa sa uban criteria balik lang gihapon sa pagkamunicipality.

dali ra kaayo ko sa BXU. as usual dili jud ko kalimot hapit sa BodynSole pag-abot nako around 10PM last friday. I checked in sa HotelKaraga. Sad to say mura kinahanglan na sila ug refurbishment sa ila mga rooms. Tapos dili tanan rooms naa wifi signal (including my room:bash:).
Wala ko kabantay sa construction tapad sa DXBC. I was in Cafe Caliente for 3 meetings. I arrived there mga 3:30PM yesterday with only 2 tables occupied and left the place mga 8PM with all the tables in the aircon section occupied and half of the alfresco with customers. Despite the expensive food, medyo dinadayo na ang Cafe Caliente.
I did notice many buildings being constructed all around the city pero kadaghanan small scale with a few medium scale. Maybe the Prince Hotel can be considered a large scale reconstruction.
Am crossings my fingers, ROBINSONS will start it's construction within 1 year time from today.
I took the 2PM flight kanina ang it is good that the runway asphalt overlay is ongoing. Soon dili na magontol-ontol ang mga plane sa ato airport. he he he

Guys, are you sure it's okay to start referring the former CP (to be a condotel soon) now as PRINCE? Let me remind you, that this condotel's name is just an insider's info. No confirmation yet. My concern lang here is that, what if bigla nalang they'll change the name? . Naku, papano yan? nasanay na tayo sa PRINCE? :D

Still, Caraga Region remains optimistic with tne new developments now unfurling. Under the Rural Road Network Development Project-III (RRNDP), the construction of the Prosperidad-Lianga Road with a total cost of PhP389.9million covering a total length of about 15 km. started in March 2009 under Package 8 of RRNDP. The completion of the road is expected to promote and sustain industries such as wood-based industries and agricultural activities in the area. Another package of the RRNDP, the construction of the Butuan City-Las-Nieves-Esperanza-Bayugan Road had also started in the same month. With a total project cost of Php1.7 billion stretching a total length of 61 km, the road will serve as an inter-provincial link connecting the Provinces of Agusan del Norte and Agusan del Sur and will further connect to the Province of Bukidnon at the junction of the road in Barangay New Gingoog in Las Nieves.
regjeex August 17th, 2009, 12:38 PM OTOP-Agusan del Sur showcases LGU initiatives
by Irene B. Lavilla and Corazon dela Peña
Prosperidad, Agusan Del Sur (14 August) -- Having identified the "winning" product for each of their towns, the local chief executives have continued to work to collectively push the One Town One Product [OTOP] program in this province, even taking in more products to support.
The OTOP products decided for each of the municipalities are - 1]Sibagat – abaca ; 2] Bayugan City – banana; 3] Prosperidad – rubber; 4] San Francisco – processed food; 5] Rosario – integrated poultry; 6] Bunawan – tourism services; 7] Trento – organic products; 8] Sta. Josefa – organic products; 9] Veruela – rubber; 10] Loreto – rubber; 11] La Paz – rubber; 12] Talacogon – wood products; 13] San Luis – rattan; 14] Esperanza – tilapia.
Abaca in Sibagat is expanding to Prosperidad and Rosario. This is triggered by the high demand on tinagak that the former's production volume could not meet. Bayugan's banana chips is getting into the market with improved packaging and label. It is making sales at the trade fairs.
In support to San Francisco's OTOP, the municipal LGU conceptualized and packaged a P110.6 million "San Francisco OTOP Terminal Complex" project. The facility will serve as the trading center of the town's priority products. As a component, the LGU has also allocated working capital fund assistance to micro-entrepreneurs. The beneficiaries have been provided trainings and assistance on business plan preparation to qualify for the fund.
Tahay and silvercraft of Bunawan are the products developed related to its OTOP – tourism services. Product development assistance has been provided for the tahay and silvercraft. The silvercraft producers were sent to training in Manila and provided materials to execute product prototypes.
Trento LGU has been very aggressive in expanding the product lines they are producing. Inspired by the recent study mission to Thailand participated by Mayor Irenea R. Hitgano, a series of skills trainings on food processing has been conducted. This include: calamansi, meat, banana and coco-sugar.
Recent updates and opportunities inspired the municipalities of Prosperidad, Veruela, Loreto and La Paz to have rubber as their priority product. Thus, Prosperidad issued a resolution changing OTOP from kaong to rubber. Veruela, La Paz and Loreto [though no resolution yet] are changing from banana, palm oil, palm oil-tilapia, respectively. regjeex August 17th, 2009, 12:40 PM More jobs for Agusan del Sur eyed thru SPINby Irene B. Lavilla
Prosperidad, Agusan Del Sur (14 August) -- "We should not be afraid of the global crisis, rather we should be prepared how to cope with the upturn of the economy," says Mr. Jenifer Cruz of 33 point 3 Exports, Inc. to the handicraft weavers/producers in his visit in the province in April this year.
Cebu-based 33 point 3 Exports, Inc. with business experience of more than a decade is now one of the buyers of Talacogon Weavers Association [TWA]. This engagement is the output of the Sub-contracting Partners Innovation Program [SPIN] implemented in the province.
SPIN is a bold initiative of the DTI Region VII, the objective of which is to trickle down the export earnings of the region to the other parts of the country especially in areas that are wanting of government assistance. It is a program that links the local producers to exporters based in Cebu that is expected to provide more income to the handicraft producers aside from farming.
In his visit to the two [2] handicraft producing municipalities; Talacogon and Sibagat, with the DTI, DILG and Provincial Government personalities, Mr. Cruz expressed his appreciation on the quality, price and craftsmanship of their produce which he said is at par with his other suppliers.
TWA was the first to close an order with the company. It had already delivered its first transaction of 500 sets. In its 1,000 pieces follow-up order TWA initially delivered 664 sets worth P 219,120.00. It is now currently completing another purchase order worth P 330,000.00. TWA employs 40 weavers from the different barangays in Talacogon and is expected to employ more in the coming months.
Sibagat, the province's leading abaca producer, is also seen to have a good future with the company thru the placemats and sinamay currently produced by the Sibagat Weavers Association.
SAFRAADAP, a group of differently-abled persons which is a recipient of DTI's product prototyping is also being eyed as future subcontractor under the SPIN. Its new product lines, placemats and wooden trays are being considered by the exporter. Execution and mass production will start after the recommended enhancement is done and transaction order is finalized.
regjeex August 17th, 2009, 12:43 PM Emergency hirees help DTI-Agusan Sur expand services
by Nestor A. Sobrepeña and Ana Roselyn A. Colima
Prosperidad, Agusan Del Sur (14 August) -- The Department of Trade and Industry in Agusan del Sur [DTI-AdS] has expanded its services in response to the need to provide alternative means of livelihood to those affected by the economic crisis.
This the office did with the help of personnel who are themselves part of the group of targeted beneficiaries.
DTI-ADS was given funding under the agency's Comprehensive Emergency Employment Program [CLEEP] to do emergency hiring of seven [7] personnel. Two were hired as training personnel for the agency's alternative livelihood assistance program, one as Financial Analyst to help beneficiaries source funding for their IGPs, and four were assigned to help out the Consumer Welfare Division in conducting weekly price monitoring and reporting on basic and prime commodities in key towns of the province.
The additional price monitors who were deployed in San Francisco, Trento, Talacogon and Bayugan City allowed the provincial office to do extensive monitoring of business establishments. About 459 business establishments were also checked on the compliance of price tag, business name registration and product labeling. This contributed to the increase of business name applications filed in the office.
The CLEEP training assistance on the other cover both skills and management "how-to" packages including "starting a business", basic recording and costing, business plan preparation and micro-financing. Offered as well were trainings on skills and technology demonstration on food processing, flower and handicraft making especially directed to the women, agrarian reform beneficiaries and other would-be entrepreneurs.
Management trainings were given to individuals, farmers, food processors and enterprise bank clients in the province. The local banks believe that with this type of business management assistance, their clients will be guided in using their borrowed funds more wisely.
As of end of the 1st semester, DTI- AdS has already conducted 57 CLEEP trainings to 1,560 participants. (DTI-Agusan del Sur/ PIA-Caraga)

Green Bank Chief Executive hailed RBAP’s New President for 2009-2010
There is another good reason to celebrate especially when you’re a Green Banker. In the recently concluded annual convention of Rural Bankers Association of the Philippines (RBAP) on May 14-15,2009, our very own President and Chairman of the board was elected as the new President of the renowned association. It goes to show that Green Bank Inc. made a huge impact not only in Butuan City but all throughout where it has its branches in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao totaling 46 branches and 70 kiosks.
During his speech in the convention, the incoming RBAP President outlined the direction and programs of the new board. He also stated that he will work with the incoming board to pursue further strengthening of the rural banking industry and will seek to push it further along the technology frontier. He also emphasized the importance of the continuing support of the Micro Enterprise Access to Banking Services (MABS) program which provide technical assistance to the rural banking industry as it assists in the introduction of new financial products bundled with novel micro-insurance products. Further, the MABS program also has collaborated with other institutions like Globe Telecom in exploring new delivery channels like mobile phone banking to bring down the cost of fund delivery in the countryside.

jsl_bxu1206 August 17th, 2009, 06:25 PM BCWD Privatization: Creating Equity to Butuanons Access to Cheaper Water Rates, Better Service
August 15, 2009
by: striker_jem
Butuan – The struggle over water is certainly not a new phenomenon. A series of discussions, meetings, SP Committee hearings have been conducted by different agencies in the government including NGO’s in an effort to resolve the Taguibo Watershed Issue that allegedly affects the quality of water supplied by Butuan City Water District (BCWD).
However, in the morning of August 15, a press conference was held by People’s Movement for Socio Economic Development (PMSed) with Head Convenor Roberto Rosales who presented a whole new idea that will accordingly reduce payments of water bills benefiting BCWD consumers and could result to better management of the utility.
In a letter dated July 3, 2009 to Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) Chairman of the Board, Prospero Pichay Jr. the movement proposed for BCWD’s privatization allowing consumers to become stakeholders.
Under the PMSed proposed privatization plan, it was being offered to pay off the existing 1 billion peso loan obligations of BCWD to LWUA.
By allowing consumers to be stakeholders, it was also being proposed to convert their deposits into equity contribution and be accorded 35-45% of the total equity contribution giving the people of Butuan a chance to be members of the board, while the 55% will be offered to interested local businessmen.
With the contention that BCWD is to go up against privatization, instead of proposing a total overhaul of the top management level, PMSed Head Convenor Roberto Rosales said, “there will be an option of retaining them from their position as they are more knowledgeable of the operation.”
The Taguibo Watershed controversy have always posed a major challenge to the people of Butuan, but with the privatization plan it is now the local media industry that was being challenged by Mr. Rosales for the realization of said proposal.
The media, as catalyst for change will lead Butuanons in convincing the majority to support and lobby for BCWD’s conversion into a public corporation.
Rosales revealed, PMSed’s letter to LWUA Board Chairman Prospero Pichay seeking his support for the privatization proposal has something to do with BCWD’s 1 billion total loan to LWUA.
During the said press conference, part also of the revelation is LWUA’s alleged disclosure of more than 140 million loans for BCWD’s mechanical filtration plant which includes the installation of 7 micro filter projects contrary to what has been divulged to the public which is only 83 million.
Said micro filter supposed to be BCWD’s solution of providing continuous water supply despite turbidity in its water source in Taguibo River.
Another revelation according to Mr. Rosales is the fact that BCWD is not in the position to get hold of a new loan outside LWUA.
IMG_0180“Acquiring another multi-million loan to purchase from Israel the 7 micro filters now installed by BCWD according to LWUA Board Chairman Prospero Pichay can put them in jail,” said Mr. Rosales.
As the technical advisory service and financial provider of water districts n the Philippines, LWUA’s policy states that a waiver has to be executed first to grant authority to water districts to obtain loans from other lending institutions if the funding requirement is not available from LWUA or the project being endorsed for funding was not approved.
In BCWD’s case, it needs such waiver after LWUA disapproved the granting of additional funding requirement of the micro filter project in which it did not obtain.
The challenge of PMSed to the local media to build an alliance in an effort to get the public’s support to convince LWUA Board Chairman Pichay to let water consumers become part owners of BCWD and in the hope to be replicated in other areas in the country gained favourable response and was put into action right after the press conference.

Through the bank's pioneering efforts in offering non-collaterized micro loans and savings services, it has touched the lives of the market vendors, small sari-sari store owners, small service shops and manufacturers, even those who are engaging in agricultural type of business such as farming and livestock projects. With more than 36 established branches and 56 kiosks all over Mindanao, Visayas, and Luzon regions, Green Bank has grown and expanded its banking operations to reach and delight the valued clients.
Green Bank's thrust of serving the over-growing needs of its clients is aligned with its vision as the Premier Countryside Financial Institution. This vision constantly guides Green Bank and its people with mission to provide fast, customer-driven products and services exceeding clients' expectations.
GREEN BANK: History
Green Bank (formerly the Rural Bank of Nasipit) was registered at the Securities and Exchange Commission on June 20, 1974 and started operations on April 5, 1975 .
During the Marcos regime, the bank availed of the Central Bank's rediscounting program called Masagana 99. Shortly after, the economy started to decline. Its lowest point was immediately after the assassination of Ninoy Aquino in 1983. During this entire period the bank suffered very high past due ratio because borrowers particularly the M-99 farmers did not pay their obligations. Thus, the bank's financial condition deteriorated rapidly.
In 1988, Central Bank issued Circular No. 1172 designed to help ailing rural banks through a capital build-up and conversion scheme. The Bank's arrearages with the Central Bank amounted to P15 Million inclusive of interest and penalties. It was then required to infuse fresh capital to cope with capital deficiency.
Because of the poor response from the stockholders and the enormity of the arrearages the implementation was delayed. Only the Andaya group initially put in money followed by Engr. Dompor who was convinced by the Chairman, Ismael Andaya to infuse some cash.
In 1989, the Board of Directors appointed Rufa C. Suan as manager. During her administration measures were instituted which turned the bank around.
In 1993, the Securities and Exchange Commission approved the amendment of the Articles of Incorporation increasing the capitalization from P/2,000,000.00 to P/20,000,000.00. Lately the SEC approved the increase of Authorized Capital Stock from P/20,000,000.00 to P/60,000,000.00.Now the stockholders have opted to further increase the authorized capital stock from P60 Million to P500 Million with an initial paid in of P27,500,000.00
In the late 2000, Green Bank merged with the Rural Bank of Alegria and became the biggest Rural Bank in Caraga in terms of resources. It also became the first rural bank in CARAGA to have branches all over the region. To date there are 42 branches in Mindanao and the Visayas.
The program of the government to extend financial assistance to the poorest of the poor embodied in BSP issued Circular No. 340, dated July 30, 2002, authorized banks to establish branches/loan collection and disbursements points (LCDPs) that allowed us great opportunity for expansions for our banking services specifically in the countryside.

regjeex August 18th, 2009, 01:10 PM Coal is fuel of choice for power generation
MANILA, Philippines—Environment groups may be strongly opposed to its use, but coal is likely to remain the fuel of choice for power generation due mainly to its abundance and relatively lower price as compared to other fuel types.
The Philippine Energy Plan, which aims to reduce coal imports by 20 percent and encourage local production, projects coal demand to grow from 12.2 million metric tons in 2008 to around 15.28 million MT in 2014, of which 13.06 million MT are for power generation and 2.22 million MT are for industries.
In 2007, about 75 percent of coal consumed in the Philippines came from other countries (7.7 million MT out of 10.2 million MT). The country’s main source was Indonesia (4.5 million MT), followed by China (2.1 million MT).
In 2008, China almost completely stopped exporting coal to meet its own demands. This, coupled with rising fuel prices, pushed prices up at the wholesale electricity spot market, resulting in higher power rates for customers of Manila Electric Co. (Meralco).
Meralco customers had to pay an additional 67.17 centavos per kilowatt-hour in April 2008.
In the Philippines, coal comes from Semirara Island, Cagayan Valley and Surigao del Sur.
Coal areas up for bidding
In May, the Department of Energy offered contracts to explore and develop 30 prospective coal areas in the country under the fourth Philippine Energy Contracting Round (PECR) 2009.
PECR is a public bidding round aimed at encouraging companies to invest in the country’s energy sector.
The coal areas offered for bidding are located in 14 provinces: Cebu (Bolijon, Carmen, Naga and Asturias), Quezon (General Nakar, Polillo Island and Tagkawayan), Masbate (Cataingan), Albay (Rapu-Rapu), Catanduanes (Caramoran, Panganiban and Viga), and Zamboanga del Norte (Godod), Zamboanga Sibugay (Diplahan-Buug, Siay, Payao and Naga).
Davao Oriental (Manay, Tarragona), Agusan del Sur (Bunawan, Sibagat and Trento), Surigao del Norte (Kitcharao and Gigaquit), Surigao del Sur (Cagwait-Marihatag, San Agustin-Lianga and Tandag-Tago), South Cotabato, Sarangani, and Sultan Kudarat (Bagumbayan and Senator Ninoy Aquino).
Kitcharao is part of agusan del norte not Surigao del Norte... nag binugo nasad ang sulat ani...:bash:

alfechekarl August 18th, 2009, 01:35 PM Caraga region now has the highest number of confirmed Influenza A(H1N1) cases in Mindanao, with 22 confirmed cases.
Fifty patients with flu-like symptoms are also under observation.
This figure does not include those who are under self-medication and who do not know whether their fever is due to the A(H1N1) virus.
Two schools in Butuan City, the Agusan National High School and Rainbow of Little Angels School, recently suspended classes due to confirmed A(H1N1) cases.
Caraga Center for Heath Development records showed that since May the number of persons under observation rose to 50.
Yesterday, an employee at the provincial capitol of Agusan del Norte tested positive for A(H1N1) based on his throat swab test from the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM).
Of the 50 patients under observation for A(H1N1) flu, 28 were female and 22 were male with ages ranging from three months to 77 years. Most are within the age group 11 to 20 years, according to health department records.

regjeex August 18th, 2009, 04:40 PM USAID’s GEM representative visits NORMISIST
Mr. Michael Langsdorf of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) - Growth with Equity in Mindanao (GEM) visited the Institute yesterday and presented the Job Enabling English Proficiency (JEEP) program to NORMISIST’s key officials of Ampayon and Cabadbaran campuses at the Office of the President’s Conference Room.
Dr. Myrna Marieta D. Kuizon led all participants in the meeting in behalf of Dr. Joanna B. Cuenca. Also present in the meeting from the Ampayon campus were Dr. Esamel M. Paluga, Dr. Rolyn C. Daguil, Dr. Luisito I. Tabada and Ms. Merlinda C. Truzan.
According to Mr. Langsdorf, who is the GEM's Deputy Program Manager for Education and Governance, JEEP is a two-year program designed to help college students in Mindanao develop their English language skills so that the students increase their chances of accessing highly-favored jobs that require an advanced level of English proficiency. Those students who seek employment in the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), Hotel and Restaurant Management (HRM), Academe, Engineering, and Information Technology are desired for the project.
Generally, the GEM program is useful for students in a range of fields who want to improve their English to pass the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) en route to employment requiring English proficiency or further study.
The project is designed by International English language specialists and comprised of two courses:
The first year course known as the “JEEP-start” builds up the foundation of English skills through computer-assisted language learning.
The second year course (“JEEP-Accelerate”) prepares for entry into employment, developing specific skills needed to pass the various English language examinations, interviews, and tests required by employers.
Having mentioned the computer-assisted language learning, the project will provide recipients with 41 computer units with exclusive DynaEd software. GEM will pay for the licenses of the software for the first year for each of the computer units, but the recipients will have to renew them after the licenses expire.
In a handout provided by Mr. Langsdorf, JEEP began in June 2009 at six “partner schools” in Mindanao namely:
MSU – Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) in Iligan City
Bukidnon State University (BukSU) in Malaybalay City
Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) in Zamboanga City
MSU in Marawi City, Capitol University in Cagayan de Oro City, and the
Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology in Zamboanga City.
The Institute Officials will discuss the project internally to establish a feasibility and sustainability plan with respect to the “market” of the program in the Institute, cost of operation and the renewal of the licenses of the software.

Close this THE DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY IS considering awarding to investors all the 25 contract proposals it received for the exploration and development of 18 prospective coal areas in the country, according to a senior government official.
“We intend to award contracts to all the areas that those companies had applied for,” said Energy Undersecretary Ramon Allan Oca.
The DOE received the 25 contract proposals from at least 13 companies under the fourth Philippine Energy Contracting Round (PECR) 2009 for coal, wherein a total of 30 coal contracts were offered between May and June.
Oca said in an interview that the DOE was planning to start awarding the contracts this month or in September.
“We have made the evaluations and we are reviewing and finalizing these. We will submit (the evaluations) to Energy Secretary Angelo T. Reyes for final screening and evaluation,” Oca added.
Oca earlier said the proposals for the coal block systems that were offered under PECR 2009 were in Cebu, Quezon, Masbate, Sorsogon, Albay, Panganiban, Catanduanes, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga Sibugay, Davao Oriental, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Sur, South Cotabato and Sultan Kudarat.

GARDEN MEMORIAL ESTATE
Bancasi,Butuan City
Uraya Land Development, Inc. was established on March 8, 1994, the primary purpose of which is to acquire properties by purchase, lease, donation and to own, use, improve, develop, subdivide, sell, lease, mortgage, exchange, and hold for investment real estate of all kinds.
Established to be the flagship of the URAYA GROUP OF COMPANIES, its main thrust is the development of suburban communities to meet the housing needs of today’s growing population.
It has an authorized capital stock of P50 million and paid-up capital of P50 million. As of the year 2005, its total assets stood at P506 million, while total equity and retained earnings amounted to P113 million.
Its pilot project was undertaken in a 14-hectare subdivision lot in Mankilam, Tagum City. Known as Capitol Homes Subdivision, it has a total of 749 housing units, and was developed for the lower middle-income group of Davao del Norte’s biggest population sector.
Its second project, Elenita Heights Subdivision, is situated in Catalunan Grande, Davao City. It sits on a 50-hectare property with a total of 1,218 housing units and ‘lots only’ for Phase I and 1,014 housing units and ‘lots only’ for Phase II. To date, only a few units remain unsold.
Plans to expand the community within the adjacent areas are also underway. The Company recently launched its third phase, Elenita Heights Garden Villas. This involves the development of an 8.2-hectare property for an additional 310 housing units and ‘lots only’.
At present, Uraya Land is involved in the development of an 80-hectare property in Toril, Davao City. Its first high-end subdivision project, Villa de Mercedes will initially develop 16.6 hectares of the entire property, with 411 lots available for sale. It has been granted its License to Sell on November 16, 2004 and the Company has already sold a total of 271 units as of November 15, 2006.
Just recently, it has been granted its License to Sell for Phase II, which involves 23 hectares of the property, with 328 lots for sale.
Also in the pipeline is a 4-hectare subdivision project in Butuan City, which is being considered for development, as the growth in the Caraga region will entail a bigger demand for housing in the said area. Another project in the making is a high-end memorial park in Butuan City.
The Company has only been in the real estate business for almost twelve years but it has already made its mark in the industry. For four consecutive years, in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006, it has been awarded by the Shoppers’ Choice Awards as the Best Low Cost Housing Developer in Davao City.
It has also been awarded by the Philippine Marketing Excellence Awards as the Best Low Cost Housing Developer in Davao City in 2004, 2005 and 2006 and by the National Product Quality Excellence Awards in 2006 as the Best Low-Cost Housing Provider in Davao City.
In the years to come, Uraya Land will continue to pursue its objective of land and housing development and meet its commitment of providing more homes to more people in Davao City and in some parts in Mindanao.
