if you find Body and Sole sossy....you should check out even more Good Earth Spa along Aquino Ave...they are now undergoing expansion with their second level and at the back extension... try also checking MJ Santos Spira Spa

Will try to visit these two SPA's next time and will validate kung totoo ang claim ng SILIB na these are the best SPA's in the city.

BUTUAN CITY – Palm oil industry stakeholders are eyeing some 45,500 hectares of land in the Caraga Region to increase their production in the next five years, it was learned Friday.

Considering the marketability of the palm oil, the stakeholders are bent on making Caraga Region as a globally competitive producer of palm oil products.

The Caraga Business Council (CBC), Regional Development Council (RDC), Department of Agriculture (DA) and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) are closely monitoring these developments on the expected rise of the palm oil industry.

It was gathered that the member-producers want to achieve an increase in the income of palm oil growers and alleviate poverty in general by developing more potential areas for palm oil production as well as building strong partnership among stakeholders.

It was observed by Caraga Region business analysts that palm oil industry is the “sunrise” industry in the region.

Big companies and individual growers are now into palm oil plantation because of its high return.

It was also gathered that a hectare of palm oil plantation can produce between four to 5.5 tons of crude palm oil which is five to ten times greater that the yield of any commercially known oil crop.

NORMISIST conducts PMS – OPES training workshop

The Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) of the Northern Mindanao State Institute of Science and Technology (NORMISIST) conducted a one-day training workshop on the Performance Management System – Office Performance Evaluation System (PMS – OPES) on October 3, 2009 at the NORMISIST Conference Room.

The training-workshop was spearheaded by Ms. Rosario B. Heria, Administrative Officer V of HRMO of NORMISIST with Ms. Jennifer B. Perez and Mr. Meshach D.Dinyahan, representatives from the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Agusan del Norte Provincial Office. Ms. Perez, the Chief Personnel Specialist provided the orientation and conducted the workshop on the PMS – OPES.

The one-day activitiy was attended by the NORMISIST Officials and faculty members with designation. The participants were introduced to the PMS-OPES to be employed in the Institute.

Per the handout provided by the organizers of the training, “PMS is a set of processes for establishing a shared understanding of the goals to be achieved by managing the performance of personnel”. “OPES refers to the objective measurement of collective outputs”, the document stated. As discussed by Ms. Perez, the main unit of measurement for OPES is the point system where points are given to outputs based on the average number of hours it would take one person to complete a task. This would allow for comparison across the units. All outputs determined can be compiled into an OPES Reference Table and a work plan is anchored on standard target points.

According to the presentation provided by Ms. Perez, OPES ensures objectivity in:

- Setting work standards
- Evaluating various levels (individual, division, office, agency)
- Comparing across units
- Integrating plans and programs
- Rewarding performers

A follow-up training and workshop will be conducted to facilitate the appointment of the Champion for the PMS – OPES and to discuss other topics which were not covered in the one-day training. This was scheduled onoctober 19, 2009 on the same venue.
