View Full Version : Should the forumer 'EverTonian' support Tranmere instead of Everton?
Gareth February 1st, 2008, 02:44 PM Just thought for a guy who moved away to a completely different part of the country and is now very proud of being part of the Wirral Nation, it is strange that he doesn't support a football team from that land. I mean no proud Wirral Nationalist would be seen dead in an EFC or LFC kit, they're the enemy. Why doesn't he honour his 'Wirralness' and support Tranmere Rovers instead? Perhaps we should all support a football team which is resident in whichever artificial local authority we live in. So I guess for Knowsley, until Everton move, it's Prescot Cables. If Everton do move, then Liverpool residents will have to support LFC or move! And how good it would be if all of Sefton got behind Southport. It makes sense. You should be loyal to your area, whatever area you've been designated as part of by a bunch of pen-pushing civil servants, that is.
Gareth February 1st, 2008, 02:47 PM Duh, I missed out the 't' in 'Evertonian'. Sorry dude!
kung_fuzi February 1st, 2008, 04:13 PM Duh, I missed out the 't' in 'Evertonian'. Sorry dude!
Gareth.
Not only did you miss out the letter 'T' you also missed out a very important word regarding Evertonian and his ilk 'HYPOCRISY' :)
b4mmy February 1st, 2008, 04:15 PM anyone for T? :)
Gareth February 1st, 2008, 04:18 PM ^^ A Macclesfield Town supporter by any chance? ;)
b4mmy February 1st, 2008, 04:21 PM oh yes... can't beat em.
Well, you can, if you know what I mean....
Gareth February 1st, 2008, 04:24 PM They'd probably beat LFC at the moment, anyhow. :ohno:
Evertonian February 1st, 2008, 07:08 PM Why would I support Tranmere when i'm a scouser from Liverpool with no connection to Tranmere or greater Birkenhead whatsoever?
You're not making any sense.
JDN21 February 1st, 2008, 08:16 PM Maybe all those Danes, Swedes, Norweigans, Cornish and Irish folk should support teams in their respective areas too, rather than Liverpool.
paulmac35 February 1st, 2008, 08:44 PM Then its Marine for me (up the road in Crosby) being the Sefton nationalist that i am!
kung_fuzi February 1st, 2008, 09:55 PM I'm a South Liverpool (Holly Park) man myself.
paulmac35 February 1st, 2008, 10:04 PM Not a bad team kung. with John Aldridge and Jimmy Case as former players. god why did Liverpool let Jimmy Case leave so easily? His replacement Sammy Lee (though good and hardworking as he was), just wasnt in the same league. Who can forget that wonder strike of Case's in the 1977 FA Cup Final only for Liverpool to lose to the Mancs with the luckiest goal ever seen at Wembley (in off Jimmy Greenhoff's back!). We absolutely battered them that day. Should have been the treble that year.
Gareth February 1st, 2008, 10:15 PM Why would I support Tranmere when i'm a scouser from Liverpool with no connection to Tranmere or greater Birkenhead whatsoever?
You're not making any sense.
'Greater Birkenhead'? And there's me thinking that the Wirral was a single place with no relation to Liverpool whatsoever. I mean, you live in an entirely different part of the country, I just thought you'd sooner fit in, or do they appreciate that you're an expat? ;)
Evertonian February 1st, 2008, 10:23 PM What does the place where I currently live have to do with an emotional tie to a club based on my family going back many generations from LIVERPOOl???
I appreciate you're trying to be funny but you're proving what exactly with this sarcasm?
Evertonian February 1st, 2008, 10:28 PM ....and the thing that i really dont understand is you appeared to agree with me in previous posts and the last post you made in the other thread....that the tunnel tolls is unfair tax to business in merseyside and it should be abolished as it harms relations and the "city region" concept.
sloyne February 1st, 2008, 10:32 PM I think this thread is superfluous to anything skyscraper related and should be locked. From what I can deduce it was designed as a wind-up and nothing more. If Gareth has an issue with Evertonian he should have the good manners to restrict his inciting to the private mail facility and not subject the rest of us to his hate posts.

That's always been my stance. What I never understood with you is how you blamed the 'city region' concept for the tolls, when it is a lack of 'city region' concept that keeps them in existance. The anti-city region spin on the title thread also got on my nerves, when you could've just called the thread 'Tunnel Tolls Rise' or something along those lines.

For a start, this is the off-topic section. Besides, very few of your posts are ever skyscraper related and if we just talked soley about skyscrapers, this forum would be much smaller than it is. Oh and I don't hate Evertonian, he's alright. You on the other hand are not so alright.
kat2 February 2nd, 2008, 12:46 AM doesnt like football or understand it really very expensive though.
kat
sloyne February 2nd, 2008, 01:17 AM You on the other hand are not so alright. Which maybe a fair point but as you can see the thread has now degenerated into an insulting match. Well at least it is yourself, once again, who is doing the insulting.:ohno:
woody February 2nd, 2008, 11:11 AM . Oh and I don't hate Evertonian, he's alright. You on the other hand are not so alright.
Gareth, this might be the Beacon, were anything is up for grabs, but insulting others ! me thinks you should stay away from the pub:cheers:
Babaloo February 2nd, 2008, 12:02 PM ^^
I don't think that Gareth is saying anything offensive here.
The thread has a context - Evertonian's previous statements about the relationship between the two sides of the river.
Sloyne's intervention,

can be read in the light of HIS previous relationship with Gareth and can be seen as a deliberate attempt to whip something up out of nothing to serve his own agenda.

PS: For those who don't know what "HIS previous relationship" with Gareth amounted to; Gareth, while a mod, took offense at my correcting his misnaming Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LPL) as LJL and subsequently suspended me from the forum for my efforts. After this episode I ceased all activity on the forum until I learned that Gareth was no longer a moderator then I resumed my participation.

An accurate analysis, once again.
