Some seriously great photos there Tombs - I love these ones. You've got a good eye for offbeat alternative subjects.:okay:

Thanks fitz, your compliments are much appreciated.

A bit hard to tell whether you're being sarcastic or not... I hope my pictures don't insult you. All I try to do is show the London that I have grown up with. To you it may look crappy and poor, but to me this is London warts and all, and I love it all the same.

^^ I was being half serious, half sarcastic, half joking...or should that be one third....anyway, don't take it the wrong way, it's just that the last thread I entered in this section showed the grandure of the City of london, so this was a bit of a...change, that's all, I appreciate that you want to show where you grew up. :)

Great photos, I have a soft spot for photo's of grime and grit. You've covered some seriously rough areas, I mean Dalston is nasty but by contrast it's nice compated to Hackney Wick!

Cheers for the comments everyone.

GazKinz: Yep, Hackney Wick, as far as I can remember, has always looked like a warzone just after the dust has settled. In 10 years time though it'll probably be completely unrecognizable.

fitz44:  I always knew Jacqui Smith was a chav at heart.

Jack Rabbit Slim: No problem, I understand. Poverty and deprivation has always existed in London... It's not something to be celebrated, for sure, but it's interesting to me because of how strongly it's shaped and defined the character of the city.

A wonderful store, tell me what does it sell? Eggs?

It's an old Jewish shop dating back to the 50's, and by the looks of it, hasn't changed at all since. It mainly sells Kosher food, paper plates, etc.
