The middle tower is expected to top out at 40 stories, so I believe there are still 3 or 4 more stories left to go. The taller 53-story tower is currently at level 5.

Is amazing how fast is Astana growing! These towers will be an outstanding addition to Astana's skyline!!

Astana could become the Central Asian New York if it keeps this up. If only it wasn't so isolated from every other major financial centers with the exception of Moscow though.

You have to understand that Astana was never meant to become a major regional player. I would say that economically Almaty, the capital's southern neighbor, is well on its path to becoming an important financial center of Central Asia and beyond. Almaty has strong ties to the major urban centers in this part of the world, namely Moscow, Urumqi, Tashkent, Baku, Kiev, Istanbul, Tel Aviv, et cetera.

What business is in Astana to warrant all the growth and new towers aside from Government? I read an article while back on why Astana became the Capital (it said to move it further north from bordering countries) not sure how accurate that statement is. The article also stated that some people feel it was unnecessary to move the capital and it's a waste of resources also to mention that the weather (especially winters) are much harsher on the plains in that region.
Can any locals comment on this?

Astana buildings possess those Turkish kind of styles − from my layman observation.

What's so inherently Turkish about this Canadian-designed, art-deco inspired tower?

^^I am not referring to this building in particular!

I hope Astana doesn't get into the Vancouver habit of using the green tinted glass. I am already noticing a lot of the buildings are starting to look alike.
