Da Nang City authorities have given verbal approval to design plans for the 48-storey-Vien Dong Meridian twin towers, which are slated to be central Vietnam’s tallest buildings.
The US$180 million project will include a trading center, office building, hotel and serviced apartments.
The building will stand at 84 Hung Vuong Street, Hai Chau District, Da Nang City.
The three primary investors are Vien Dong Technologies Transfer and Investment Consulting Joint Stock, Trung Nam Construction and Investment Joint Stock, and Saigon Telecommunication Joint Stock Companies.
Nguyen Tam Thinh, Chairman of Vien Dong Technologies Transfer and Investment Consulting Joint Stock Company, announced the news of verbal approval Tuesday.
A design by Mooyoung Architects & Engineers had previously won a contest to formulate Vien Dong Meridian’s blueprints.
The South Korean company beat out nine other local and international architecture companies to become the chosen design firm.
Ground-breaking is scheduled for later this year.
Organizers aim to have the towers fully operation in three years.
