It's funny how quickly we expect things to happen. It's a symptom of the digital age.
valantino February 18th, 2008, 06:21 AM Perhaps
I also think fellow forumers expect commercial developments to be as forecoming with information and as expediant to breaking ground as our residential projects. It's a cheap pile and the city should of never allowed the hoarding to be up as long as it was however 10 years for a commercial/retail project the size of Toronto Life Square is not an insane amount of time as so many discuss.

The development pace is insane.

Taller, Better August 13th, 2008, 06:50 AM Golly! That is one handsome old Georgian style building; I am extremely glad it is being treated respectfully... and hope it survives the move. Does anyone know the history of that building?
yin_yang August 13th, 2008, 07:21 AM nice, i was just there for the open jam session they were having there...good to see the place isn't being shut down, lots of memories there! first date.

Taller, Better February 22nd, 2010, 04:25 PM Thanks for the update, Jason! Things are picking up steam on the development front.
jjippidy February 22nd, 2010, 11:59 PM Is the relocation of the heritage building the Fox?
Taller, Better February 23rd, 2010, 04:53 AM Yes. It will be very cool to watch it move!
jjippidy February 24th, 2010, 06:28 AM Nice.
I really like the look and feel of that place, only been there a couple times, more of a 'after work Friday pitcher' kinda vibe, a little mish-mash of clientele, with a touch of grittiness - which I like. Definitely deserving of preservation even if it were not designated a heritage building.
With all the recent development around it, I'm sure it'll probably become the local watering hole for a lot of new buyers, I mean, it's that or Hooters.

AndrewJM3D June 26th, 2010, 07:59 PM Wow, I really really love the simplicity of this one. The podium looks very promising as well. I want a North facing unit on the 5th floor for a nice view of Hooters rooftop patio, lol.

It looks like the angled plane at the northeast corner has been removed and spandrel glass has been generously added. It's not clear from this angle, but it looks as though the entire tower may have been boxified. I think my expectations for this tower have just about hit the floor. Though, to be fair, I shouldn't have expected anything particularly interesting from Pinnacle in the first place.

MysticMcGoo September 1st, 2010, 04:41 AM I'm sort of ambivalent towards either design. But I definately don't dislike either of them.
AndrewJM3D September 1st, 2010, 04:45 AM I wish the city and the OMB would say yes to height but stick to your plan. The roof element is terrible and the rest of it has been over done in this city.
Dino Domingo September 2nd, 2010, 05:43 AM I'm just pleased that this corner will be redeveloped. I like it.

there's a very good pub just up the road from there that I tried out on Saturday (with my wife!) the Town Crier...amazing selection of Beers, including Leffe Brun, my all time favourite. The food was pretty good too.

InTheBeach August 17th, 2011, 04:44 AM And it only took a few people to push it! They must have used those furniture moving disks that you can buy on TV (with that little lifter thingy).

Ktel House Movers!!
It appears that ants rushing around in circles waving their little arms created magnetic fields that actually pulled the house across the street!!
Dino Domingo August 17th, 2011, 06:48 PM Wow. I'm amazed. I don't get how they are able to move buildings without damaging the whole structure. In this case, there was no basement. I doubt they could've moved it if there was cuz it would've been connected to the foundation.

Mollywood February 17th, 2013, 08:59 PM ^^ That rendering depresses me. I hope one day, this city gets beyond this grey spandrel/glass box syndrome. I want to see some creativity, colour and a bit of flair. I know, that's a lot to ask in grey box city but we are getting the L Tower and 1 Bloor, so there is a tiny bit of hope.
