INFRES PROJECT SA AURORA, MAKASAYSAYON

Kontrobersiyal apan Makasaysayon, dili lang sa lungsod sa Aurora apan bisan sa Department of Agriculture ang nahitabong pagtapos na sa InFres Project sa lungsod nga pinakadaku sa tibuok rehiyon. Kagahapong adlawa, osa ka adlaw sa dili pa ang takdang pagbakwi niini,

hingpit na nga na turn-over ang maong proyekto sa Local Government Unit sa Aurora sa pamunuan ni Mayor Enrique Jun Cabahug taliwala sa daghanang babag ug kalisdanan nga naagian sa kontrbersiyal nga proyekto.

Tuig 2004 pa mitunol sa letter of intent ang LGU Aurora sa proyektong Farm to Market Road ug Water System alang sa daghanang barangay sakop sa iyang lungsod.

Apan sa pagdagan sa mga panahon, wala gayud malikaye nga nasakyan sa kolor sa pamulitika ang maong proyekto nga hinungdan nga nagpabiling gabitay sa panganud ang katumanan sa maong proyekto. Pipila pa lang ka bulan ang nakalabay, nakahigayon na gayud ang Sangguniang Bayan sa Aurora nga mapasar ang Appropriation Ordinance nga bugtong papel nga gihulat sa maong proyekto. Sumala pa ni Mayor Jun Cabahug, taliwala sa mga kalisdanan, wala gayud mawad-an sa paglaum ang mga opisyales nga maangkon gayud kini nga proyekto nga pipila lang ka lungsod ang nakapahimulos sa tibuok nasud.

Personal nga nasaksihan sa RMN ang maong 28 kilometros nga FMR nga mga patubig sa 9 ka mga kabaranggayan ug diin mismong ang mga residente misinggit sa ilang pagpasalamat sa tanang mitabang nga mapatuman niining maong proyekto. RMN-DXPR

Good to see these photos of Gaisano ground floor. Can't imagine this to be in Pagadian, looks expansive. Great choices of cuisine too, even having middle eastern food. Been a fan of that shawarma in SM Cebu way back, now you don't have to go very far to taste it!

Perhaps, you can call it an emerging shopping destination of the peninsula. To be fair, Zamboanga City still will have more retail per square foot by numbers but Pagadian does give additional options for people in the region.

she's really pretty. she's beautiful inside and out. i'm one of the many fortunate people who shared life with this talented journalist way back our college days in dumaguete. this lady was born an achiever. i remember one memorable introduction about her that says "her achievements surpass her height", hehehe. it's true!:)
Hard to imagine a lady from Pagadian at the fore front of the press with GMA-7. Normally, only those from the capital could land such coveted jobs in the media like this. By the way, seems like the city is all out in its beautification project for the upcoming Mindanao business conference. I hope the mayor can focus more on cleanliness on the streets which can probably be more appreciated that new structures sprouting around. Well, its good to know the fountains in the works at the plaza but the mayor can also do something to clean up some clutter on those temporary stalls within it. Hopefully the hotels are all prepared.

Good job Gwert, impressive photo of C3 plus the panoramic view of the city in the banner. That will even look better with the new Mardale Hotel. Must be nice to see the city now from Dao-dao with the new skyline, unlike before where you can only see Peoples sticking out. Its also amazing to see the widened road to camp abelon, now with centre island; big change indeed from 5yrs back!

Nice collection of the four big retailers. Should be enough for the city to sustain in the next 5 to 10 years. If the economic outlook will remain promising, then another major retailer will come to further anchor its billing as the emerging shopping destination of western mindanao.

This is indeed a very good news to the city taking into consideration that the local government was able to make a dramatic increase in the income of the city. Well, just hoping that it will be felt by our co-Pagadianons especially those who are in the marginalized sector. Perhaps the local guv can take significant slice of money from the income to allocate for the people who need it the most. While we are progressing as a city, we can't afford to see some of our co-Pagadianons being left behind. Perhaps by giving them livelihood projects or investing into scholarships, at least in the future, we can make use of those scholars as future employees or manpower to help maintaining and sustaining the progress felt in the city. We get lesser and lesser manpower each year because there's brain drain in the city, professionals opt to find a job elsewhere, we don't want to reach the point that we wouldn't have professionals here, do we? Just a thought. =)

As of now, Pagadian City is still heavily dependent on IRA allocation with almost about 4/5 or 80% of the total income for 2010... Locally generated income only accounts for 20% of the total but once C3 becomes operational expect the rise on the income generated locally plus increase on the IRA... In sum, Pagadian's income is on the RISE!

The whale was a focal point of the plaza way back until the city ran out of money for maintenance. Good to know another public attraction for the city has came to be!

Kadtong sa library wala pa napadayon, madayon pa ba kaha ang plano ato na lagoon.

The whale was famous during the time of mayor Filemon S Pajares, the father of Joy Pajares. During his time, the plaza was well kept and cleaned courtesy of the passionate wife, Luz, that's why the plaza was named after her. It was built almost same time as that Rizal monument with the half globe below. The photography business was booming that time because of that fountain, you know, digitals were non-existent yet and SLR cameras were expensive. So there were a lot of private "maniniyot" hanging around there ready to take your photos with that fountain at the background. So I would say that this new fountain is some kind of a revival of the glory days of the plaza!, way back I submitted a proposal to Joy for a grand fountain with stepped flatform so people can sit around it while watching the shows at the stage. There's supposed to be a semi-circular series of archways in the backdrop as a landmark as it reflected the design of the old city hall then. Unfortunately the city couldn't come up with a budget. I'm glad mayor Co got the vision now and finally its here!

thanks..........do you have any idea about the rumored sm savemore??where would that be located?lam nyo,bilib talaga ako sa dasmarinas,cavite.......they will be having an ayala mall soon.....i've seen the tarps along the highway when i traveled from bacoor to tagaytay three days ago.They already have both an sm and big R,waltermart mall,puregold.......and local malls.......and next is ayala.......nakakaamaze.......sa bagay....dasma is the most populated in cavite in terms of population.....kaka-city lang ng dasma last 2009 but very progressive siya in all the cities of cavite,dont know bout tagaytay........

Agree with you Omar, the rotunda should have been more landscape and just a single imposing landmark like a tower structure that can be appreciated 360degrees from a distance; perhaps a smaller version of the CN tower, Space Needle or an equivalent of the Eiffel tower, not sure what can be symbolize for Pagadian but anything iconic will be good. Add a play of light and some fireworks then you will have some spectacle up there that can be seen from below. Well, let's give the mayor the benefit of the doubt, maybe something good will come out of those 8 restaurants. We were all caught by surprise with this fountain so who knows.

Actually Mayor Co once proposed a Rotunda Convention Center..but I think they changed plans...A viewing deck-kind-of-tower is appropriate since the area is overlooking the future skyline of Pagadian...but restaurants weren't that bad either..since it will be somewhat a new hub for people..or.maybe they just can put a viewing deck on top of every resto..especially to the restaurant in the middle part (the one U/C right now)

@omar, yes, a monumental is also a good idea...
my pleasure avensis.....:banana:..Yes.just a second thought ,it would have been better if they at least build one a high-flown or a high-rise since it is overlooking.Restaurants are somewhat good also coz these could at least
add a new hub and a strange destination to strollers and wanderers since these are strategically and uniquely constructed uphill.

Actually, that U/C structure in rotunda right now is a 4 storey high and has a viewing deck on the top floor. And that is just one of the eight. Well lets just hope that those coming seven will be taller or even will hit the supertalls mark...:nuts::lol::bash:

PAGADIAN CITY, August 1, 2011–As an answer to the obstacles being posed by pro-RH goverment officials which prevent a culture of life from flourishing in the country, the bishop, the clergy and the lay people of the Diocese of Pagadian with Human Life International (HLI) Pilipinas organized the first Pro-Life & Anti-RH Prayer Rally in the city on July 30.

A crowd estimate of 8,000 pro-life rallyists trooped to the city’s public plaza to denounce the evils of the Reproductive Health (RH) bill.

The event in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur got going at 7:00 in the morning, starting with Holy Mass
at the Santo Nino Cathedral.

At exactly 8:30, thousands of placard- and streamer-bearing people–many of them, including students, coming from 24 different parishes–marched around the main streets of the city.

Similar to the marchers of the Dipolog pro-life rally just a week before, a huge number of participants came from as far as 160 kilometers away, riding in open cargo trucks just to be able to manifest their desire to be one with the Church in opposing the RH bill.

The march was followed by the rally which consisted of four major speakers shedding light on the issues at hand.
First was Fr. Rico Sayson, who spoke on the moral and spiritual evils of the bill and why this bill can never be acceptable to the Church.

Sayson reminded Catholics never to become traitors to the Church.

The next to speak to the crowd was Dr. Rene Josef Bullecer, director of HLI Pilipinas, who discussed the origin of the P3 billion-legislative measure, the anti-life and pro-abortion forces behind it along with the demographic consequences of enacting it into law.

Bullecer likewise showed why, based on the 1987 Philippine Constitution, the RH bill is unlawful on many levels. In addition, he enumerated the reasons why the Philippines remained poor despite the imposition of population control in this country as early as 1967 by then President Ferdinand Marcos, who advocated artificial family planning as a remedy to the so-called overpopulation and economic hardships.

Finally, he delved on graft and corruption–which involves nearly all branches and departments of government–as the main cause of the misery and worsening hunger being experienced by the people.

Encarnacion Blanchia, former town mayor, was the next to address the crowd, explaining the untold evils of the
RH bill, including the destructive effects of contraceptive use on women’s bodies–something to guard against considering that birth control drugs and devices are expected to flood the country in the name of “reproductive health” and “reproductive rights.”

A Muslim sultan then spoke to the thousands of rallyists, explaining why the bill is contrary to the teachings of Islam. He called on the Filipino people to be united and work as one so that the controversial piece of legislation will never be passed in this country.

Though unable to show up personally, Pagadian Bishop Most Rev. Emmanuel C. Cabajar, CssR. D. D., had his prepared message read to the crowd.

The bishop urged all Catholics to be good soldiers of Christ, ready to defend the faith, the sacredness of life and the sanctity of marriage, especially now that legislation on divorce and “homosexual rights” are also being filed in both Houses of Congress. (John Luke Evangelista)

Nice houses! Is Ramona a national real estate outfit?. The P620,000 house looks small and out of proportion in the rendering. I can't imagine this is how much you can make out from more than half a million these days. Understandably, inflation has taken its toll on construction anywhere in the world. Its good to see these variety of options being offered to people of Pagadian though. If I'm not mistaken, there's already an existing affordable housing there in Napolan which is owned by the same developer of the original one in Tiguma. This new one however I see is being marketed professionally just like any high end subdivisions. Will be a big bonus if this is situated with a view to the city.

City Commercial Center launches soft opening
PAGADIAN CITY, August 6 (PIA) -- The City Commercial Center (C3), Pagadian’s biggest economic enterprise investment had its soft opening on Wednesday to better serve the customers with quality products and services.

Mayor Samuel S. Co in his message delivered by city councilor Bienvenido Culve said Pagadian now rises to progress and development. “With the establishment of C3, the residents are jubilant as it is the only shopping mall owned and operated by a local government unit not only in Mindanao but perhaps in the Philippines,” Co proudly said.

Co announced that the start of the soft opening was also the start of the pre-grand opening activities which will run daily until the grand opening on September 23, 2011.

“There will be daily entertainment shows like live bands, singing and choral competitions, dance sports and hip-hop dance contests, and many more,’’ Co said.

The chief executive said there will be big events scheduled to be held at the C3 such as the Mindanao Business Conference on September 7-9, the biggest annual gathering of business and industry leaders, government policy-makers, and other stakeholders in Mindanao and the hosting of League of Cities of the Philippines’ National Executive Board Meeting on September 22-24, in time for the opening where 70 city mayors are expected to come.

C3 manager Engr. Arnulfo A. Garcia informed the public the salient features of the mall to include the most modern amenities, such as: 4 express escalators and elevators, fully air-conditioned stalls, lightings, pipings, redesigned mall entrances, and more. “ These are all the amenities that the C3 can offer you,” Garcia said.

Garcia said food chains like McDonald, Max’s, Greenwich, Red Ribbon, and Mang Inasal will open very soon. “ Our residents will no longer spend money to travel to big cities because we already have these food chains here, ready to offer their customers the best delicacies and excellent service ever,” Garcia said.

City administrator Rufino O. Amor said the project is indeed ‘very ambitious’ saying that he was still a member of the city council when the plan was already formulated thru the active participation of members of the 8th and 9th councils, department heads, and chief of offices.

Chris, no need to be amused on people's expectations that comes short, besides if it does happen, then they will have the the last laugh indeed. Thats what they did when Robinson's suddenly popped out from nowhere. BK and KK is for the odd market that has gotten thru the many McDo,Jollibee, MIster and Dunkin Donuts. have you eaten that burger and donut lately?, I have, many times, because they are just everywhere from where I am. few minutes walk in fact. Unfortunately the sweetness and heavy fat on KK didnt sit well in our market, they closed all their chains and fled back to the states. BK and DQ(dairy queen) are trying to survive from the onslaught of McDo's promos, they haven't aggresively expanded but simply modified their stores and so is the big M with a catch, more options for coffee with their Mc Cafe outfit. By the way, Krispy Kreme, is more expensive by standards. People will just end up back with Mister or Dunkin Donuts.

yes krispy kreme is really expensive.. sa manila P33 ang isa yun na ang pinaka mura yun may mga specail flavors P44 ata yun.. sa davao raw double the prise it means it ranges from P60 to P80 each sa regional prices.

wag na mag kontra mga tol. mayayaman ang mga tao sa ciudad nila or so they say. :)

Qwert, nahuman na ba ang Medical Arts building nga gitukod tapad sa Main Hospital? Maayo unta kung mahuman na to atleast dili na layo adtuon ang mga clinic sa doctor.

Wala pa kay dako man ang building pero paspas ra man sad ila trabaho. Ang gipaspasan karon ug trabaho kanang pag kural sa Dao Complex. 65 hectares man diay na. Kasayang sa kwarta na gigasto, ngano kuralon pa man. wa man gani gi kural ning pagadian.hehe
