wanderingjordanian February 19th, 2008, 10:33 AM they will not pass this stage
metal gear February 19th, 2008, 10:50 AM lost to north koria ? ..............................omg
so again we wont pass:ohno:
i mean we have to go through ...............before i die..........we just have to.
do we still have a chance ?
and if u saw the match .how was our team? why did we loose ?
yazm1991 February 20th, 2008, 08:32 AM yeh jordan still has a good chance
they just have to beat N korea away, try to not lose aganist south korea and beat turkmansten
they actually didnt play bad, and north koreas goal was pretty gud
metal gear February 20th, 2008, 09:11 AM i thought south koria will be more of a danger to us. i mean we should have beatin n korea easily .still its good to know we havnt lost all hope.
but this is the first phase of qualifications only ..........so lets keep hoping:)
wanderingjordanian February 20th, 2008, 11:17 AM north korea is a good team, two days ago they tied with japan (1-1) in a friendly match.
metal gear February 20th, 2008, 01:28 PM since when.?.................i think we used to beat them easly.but nothing stays the same .i really whish we go through this time . last time we wasted our excellent chance to go through .:ohno:
wanderingjordanian February 20th, 2008, 02:27 PM it seems that north koreans are good these days and our team is in its worst conditions.
yazm1991 March 28th, 2008, 01:24 PM Jordan has a much better chance now
they won their second game against Turkmenistan 0 - 2 Jordan
it was good because it was away, meaning they should hopefully beat them at home
and North Korea and South Korea Drew, making the competition closer
next game is against
Korea Republic, on the 31-5-08, Jordan would be hoping to draw
and they would be hoping to beat North Korea away
Omaro March 30th, 2008, 12:38 AM Well making it past the group stage is as far as the team will get, the only Arab team in Asia that has a realistic chance of qualifying to the World Cup is Saudi, and they will probably do it because all they care about is reaching the finals and hyping up the team so much before the tournament, making their own fans think that they can actually make it to the quarter-finals or something... Rant over here :D
yazm1991 March 30th, 2008, 01:47 PM if Jordan makes it past group stages ill be happy
thats probably as far as they will get anyway
yazm1991 April 10th, 2008, 01:03 PM Jordan up one spot to 105th in FIFA ranking
http://jordantimes.com/?news=7049
AMMAN (JT) - The national football team went up one spot to 105th and continued its slow upward climb when the FIFA Ranking was issued on Wednesday.
After maintaining a top-five spot among Asian and Arab teams two years ago, Jordan is now 15th in Asia, behind Japan (36), Australia (43), South Korea (51), Iran (44), Saudi Arabia (54), Uzbekistan (60), Iraq (70), Bahrain (71), Oman (80), China (82), Qatar (83), Thailand (96), the UAE (97) and Syria (98), and 13th among Arab teams, trailing Egypt (30), Morocco (46), Tunisia (53), Saudi Arabia (54), Iraq (70), Bahrain (71), Oman (80), Qatar (83), Libya (90), the UAE (97), Syria (98) and Algeria (101), while leading Sudan (107), Kuwait (116), Mauritania (123), Yemen (141), Lebanon (148), Palestine (176), Djibouti (179), Comoros (195) and Somalia (197).
yazm1991 May 19th, 2008, 01:42 PM National team leaves for China
AMMAN (JT) - The national football team left to China on Sunday to hold a training camp and play a friendly against their counterpart ahead of their May 31 match against South Korea in Group 3, Round 3 Asian Zone World Cup qualifiers for the 2010 World Cup.
Jordan’s squad is slated to play China on May 25 in what will be the final test for the lineup before their crucial match in Seoul.
So far, the national team lost 1-0 in a home match to North Korea, but scored an important 2-0 away win over Turkmenistan to revive their chances of qualifying. They are now third in Group 3 and will play return leg against South Korea in Amman on June 7, Turkmenistan on June 14 and North Korea on June 22. The top two from the group will move on to the fourth and last qualifying round.
South Korea lead Group 3 after they beat Turkmenistan 4-0 and tied North Korea 0-0.
In FIFA World Ranking, South Korea is currently the highest ranked Group 3 team at 50th, Jordan 104th, North Korea 125th and Turkmenistan 148th.
Jordan ended 2007 ranked 120th, the lowest ever since 1999 and outside the top 100, after ending at 40th in 2004, 86th in 2005 and 95th in 2006. The national team was one of the most improved sides on the world football scene with its ranking shooting up from 152nd in 1996 to the best rank of 37th in 2004 after their first ever qualification to the 2004 Asian Cup where they bowed out in the quarters. The national team won gold medals in 1997 and 1999 Pan-Arab Games and did not compete in the 11th Games in Egypt last November.
Following the defeat to North Korea, head coach Nelo Vingada revamped the squad, bringing in new blood and letting go of many veterans including captain Faisal Ibrahim, who retired from national duty, as well as Rafat Ali. The squad now includes pros abroad like Khaled Saad, Abdullah Theeb and Thaer Bawab as well as players from all clubs apart from Shabab Hussein and Ahli, unlike the previous lineup which mainly relied on players from Faisali and Wihdat.
Officials hope the national team will reach the world’s premier football centrepiece for the first time in history. Jordan is taking part in the World Cup qualifiers for the seventh time since 1986, but has never gone past the Asian group stages. They had an early first-round exit from the World Cup qualifiers in 2004 and the FIFA ranking has plummeted ever since.
Many observers had attributed the team’s slump on an ageing lineup which was not sustainable for the long run, thus the incoming U-23 players from the Olympic and youth squads.
As the team regrouped on the weekend to leave for China, the 5th Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup match schedule created a conflict with Jordan’s upcoming training camp.
The issue related to Wihdat’s four players on the lineup with Jordan’s league champs having had their last return leg match against Lebanon’s Safa rescheduled by the AFC after it was postponed last week due to the security situation in Lebanon. With life around Lebanon returning to some resemblance of normalcy and the airlines resuming flights to Beirut, the AFC rescheduled their May 14 match to May 21.
Wihdat are third in Group B and a win over Safa will take them to Round 2. The team suggested that the four key players join the national squad after their AFC match, while Vingada insisted that all players attend the training camp. It was also not clear when Theeb, who plays for Bahrain’s Rifaa, would join the national squad.
Defending champions Shabab Urdun were eliminated from the AFC event.

The 1st half was really disastrous Jordan didn't reach the Korean goal, but everything changed in the 2nd half and the last 20 min. :cheers2: that teaches the Korean coach not to be arrogant and underestimate the opponent (he said that Jordan is not a threat and he might play with the 2nd team):bash:
yazm1991 June 6th, 2008, 07:47 AM Jordan versus South Korea

Jordan Versus South Korea!!!!
yazm1991 June 8th, 2008, 03:08 AM Jordan 0 -- 1 South Korea
Jordan played very well hitting the post at least 4 times, Jordan still haven't lost hope, if they beat North Korea and Turkmenistan, and North Korea either loses or draws against South Korea they make it past the group stage.
yazm1991 June 14th, 2008, 03:51 AM Jordan versus North Korea, tonight
they have to win, to have any chance of passing the group stages
yazm1991 June 14th, 2008, 12:02 PM Its my sad duty to announce Jordan will not pass the group stages for the 2010 world cup, after todays 2-0 loss to North Korea in Pyongyang.
Still some positive signs from the Jordanian team, maybe 2014?
