only 52,000? That's very small for a stadium in a huge city that loves football...

The Corinthians' Stadium is a reason of jokes here in Brazil. Maybe this is the 10th project for the Corinthians' Stadium, but never these projects go ahead.

I like the interior but I don't know if the oval shape of the 3rd tier is practical.
The exterior is surely something different, haven't seen another stadium with a similar shape/facade.
I really hope it will be built.

In my humble opinion, Is necessary be careful with any kind of brazilian projects , independently of the club that plan to built it ,being Corinthians, Sao Paulo, Palmeiras , Flamengo and etc. Despite I am brazilian, I know how the things work here and I am not sure if the most the projects of the stadiums that are appearing now, will go head. Any way, I also hope that many of them will be built.

Those who say the stadium won´t be built are all jealous of Corinthians. There are many people in Sao Paulo who can´t stand the fact Corinthians has the second largest group of fans in Brazil after Flamengo and one of the most popular clubs in the world...most of these unhappy people were born fans of Palmeiras and Sao Paulo FC, they try everything to demoralize the team and its fans, fortunately these attempts have never worked, for more they try, they cant fight the Corinthians nation. Now we have a concrete plan to build our stadium, the anti-corinthians are all desperate, claiming it´s only another "joke" project.

I really like the design philosophy with having a circular/oval upper tier, which gives good sightlines for those who are not seated in the middle, and a lower rectangular tier, that preserves the atmosphere.

couldnt agree more!! They should be very happy and thankful cause sao paulo is not going to be a joke in 2014 WC with the old fashion and ugly Morumbi Stadium.

Speed_demon the Corinthians is neither an unpopular internationally, never won any title South American and no world, and it is very unlikely that the project will be built, after all are about 40 years of promises of a new stadium and was never built. I project (or projects) are the joke of the stadium Corinthians that is never built.

Great stadium more than half the size of Morumbi, but I don't want it to become a World Cup 2014 venue.

It's probably the 11th project presented by Corinthians...
Unfortunately, it's not going to become real...
Even the mayor said that it is impossible to build a stadium in that spot, especially one with 50,000 seats.

Would it be possible to add a bottom rectangular tier to Morumbi?
