In the thread "87 Commissioner Street" we seem to be getting quite serious about a Joburg meet. Also.. We've been talking for yonks about having one but just haven't gotten around to it.

SO......

I thought I would make an official thread where we can organise this. Naturally anyone can come, whether you're from Jozi or not. If you're up around that time, we can infuse you with a good dose of Joburg pride.

We will have it at Picasso's on Commissioner Street, which should be opened by now. And I propose we have it on the 8th of March (Saturday)at 13h00. Of course we can work around this date if needs be.

I don't know if we'll have time to do the helicopter ride as well cos it's based at Gold Reef City. Maybe we should just meet for now, have a drink at Picasso's, and then walk around the city a bit with a aim of going up the Carlton?

I went to Picasso today and they said they will only open next week, therefore we need to choose a different location for chowing.

I think Black or Sophiatown in Newtown will make it. Guess will give us the same feel as Picasso. Lets check it out.

My vote is for black... It is in the CBD - its new - and then we can get a feel for Mapungubwe as well.

Jakes and Joburg thanks for pitcing up gents. Luf and other you are forgiven gents and thanks for having the guts to notifying us that you won't make it. I will leave everything to Jakes and Joburg to comment about our day in Joburg, its a pity that we cannot cover the whole lot of it in just one day and the sad thing is that we couldn't cover the whole of Hillbrow as it was already late but we need to strategies the next time.
