Located on club road, it offers tennis, squash, billiards, and has a swimming pool, dining room, and excellent library. Set in lovely gardens, and favoured for business entertaining, it provides residential and transient accommodation for adults only. There is a strict membership criteria.

Frere Hall: one of my all time favorite buildings in Karachi. The architecture is such that it doesn't have a back side. A must see if you are visiting Karachi. Plus, the Book Bazaar that happens every Sunday. The best bargains on the best books. Heaven.

Purple Haze
The reason why the restaurant is called 'Purple Haze'. It has UV lighting all over the place (which can be seen in the background). It serves some of the best desserts in Karachi and also 'Shisha' (Arabic Tobacco). Plus, Karaoke nights are usually fun too. :)
For those who'd like to visit it, it's located on 26th Street, Clifton in the Basement of 'Evolution' restaurant.

ZAMZAMA
Zamzama, home to a raft of Wonderful restaurants and coffee shops; sadly also where the lanes are narrow, making parking a nightmare, where the rubble hides the wonderful restaurants despite paying heavy taxes to the Federal government and where the so called food and coffee connoisseurs gather. Well, thankfully the interiors - and the food and coffee ofcourse - of the restaurants and coffee shops (for the most part at least) make up for all that. And today if you want to have a good meal or a snack, or even just a (overpriced) cup of coffee, you have to head for Zamzama.
As far as restaurants are concerned. there are many, and many to choose from. From Okra's delicious range of delights, to pompeii and Limon Cello's Italian fare (sadly, a serving of spaghetti bolognese is still missing here), all can be head at Zamzama. And with other restaurants nearby like the Mediterranean, Ban Thai and even the Nawab restaurant, Zamzama, is, perhaps the most, ahem, cosmopolitan area of Karachi........as far as food is concerned.
And then ofcourse there is a spate of coffee shops. While many had stayed loyal to good old Espresso (and rightfully so!) especially for the wonderful All Day Monday Breakfast, there are many others that also have a fair fare of succulent delicacies. Ciao is another Coffee shop that is always packed boasting of the best chicken salad sandwiches in town, and not to mention Paninis that would give another coffee shop a run for its money. And then you have Lattetude, Costa and Deja Vu that have their fair share of loyal clientele.
And once you're done with all the gorging you can possibly do in a day, you can walk off the calories by going shopping in the multitude of shops located in Zamzama, which includes designer clothing and shoes for men and women, as well as a few spas here and there......although the rubble, as mentioned before, not to mention the pothholes and open drains may keep you from walking across!

That roundabout thing is the Jinnah Bridge leading to the port, on the left of that is the Native Jetty bridge (abandoned look).

The white building near the bridge is the PNSC building which caught fire a few times.

Karachi really has improved under City Nazim and visions of President Musharraf... I recently went to SIngapore and then 6 months later to Karachi, and I was amazed how our city has transformed. It left me proud! Only the electricity problem needs looking at.

I know about those Dawat-e-Islami guys(Faizan-e-Madina), They pay KESC in advance a lumpsum demanded by them. I've seen a copy of their bill paid to KESC in advance 3 years back.

Not all but 60-70% Jaahil awam lit streets on Kunda. Ulama and religious leaders declare this as illegal and unislamic practice. The question of celebrations, however, is much debatable, so leave it :D:cheers:

I've never seen that flyover before though. How does traffic coming from Karsaz whishing to go east (towards PAF Faisal) merge onto Shah-rae-Faisal here? It looks like if you're coming from Karsaz you have to merge onto westbound traffic towards lal qilla and turn into the mohammad ali society street to finally turn around and go back towards the base.

I used to drive everyday to Princeton Review center via Karsaz. For someone like me the flyover would only increase the travelling time.

Whose bright idea was it to put that hugeass electronic in the view of an entire 3rd of a stand? i don't care what the name of the enclosure is or if it's those Rs.10 enclosures full of laborers (thought about the Urdu word for this for 2 minutes straight but can't remember) during matches. What matters is that the view of a significant portion of the stadium was blocked, depriving many people from seeing the matches in the future and depriving the PCB of revenue.

I've seen a lot of retarded shit in pictures of Pakistan, but this one takes the cake.

There are actually two of these, one is Anum Estate and one is Anum Centre, and their opposite to each other. I believe that City FM 89 something is based in one of them.

Yeah, I believe those buildings were first constructed to be residential buildings but ended up being majority commercial.

Some A-hole name Gabol from PPP is planning to abolish city goverment. He claims that areas like Leyari are neglected and the funds are distributed unevenly. (As if flyovers and underpasses are restricted for people from Liyari). I swear Pakistan is cursed because of illitrate and retards from PPP who keep causing trouble whenever country is moving forward.
