Its like a tutorial school although they took pains in explaining that it is not but thats the closest i can think of. Emphasis is on development of character and independence of a child starting with his/her study habits. Focus is on math and english. its a worlwide institution founded by a Chinese (i think) guy whose family name is Kumon. Also called the Kumon method of education. its not an extension of school (thats why its not tutorial) but a specific program designed for students. Check them on the web filino.

UNSAY KUMON RAL?

Kumon was created 50 years ago in Japan by a father and teacher. It is just one of the many programs available that help children improve their reading, writing and math skills outside of the school system.

The Kumon system is self-taught. The work is illustrated on the worksheet and the student is given assignments to be completed over several days. Cebu Pacific (CEB) will fly to more local cities from its Cebu hub and will base two more ATR72-500 aircraft in Cebu on top of the current Cebu-based of four Airbus aircraft.

CEB will fly from Cebu to Dipolog, Ozamiz and Surigao. It will also start operating a Manila-Busuanga service.

Lance Y. Gokongwei, CEB president and CEO, said, “With the arrival of two more ATR aircraft, we will be able to continue adding new services to airports that cannot accommodate our bigger jets. This will also mean that we will start offering our trademark low fares in these markets, making travel affordable for every Filipino.”

The budget airline will introduce the Cebu services to Dipolog, Ozamiz and Surigao with a P688 one-way all-inclusive fare and Manila-Busuanga with a P988 one-way all-inclusive fare. Sale period is from August 29 to September 1 and are good for travel from the start date of the particular service until December 17, 2008.

Promotional fares are on a book-and-buy basis and are non-refundable.
The seat sale fares are up to 57% lower than the fares currently offered for these routes by other airlines. After the seat sale, CEB’s all-in year-round fares are still up to 25% lower.

“We also hope to bring economic development to these new destinations as we have done in the areas we currently serve. Development in these areas cannot be achieved overnight but by careful planning and cooperation from all sectors, we expect to be a major cog in this effort,” Gokongwei added.

The Cebu-Dipolog service starts on October 3, 2008 and flies thrice weekly. The flight departs Cebu at 1:20pm and arrives at 2:10pm. The return flight to Cebu leaves at 2:30pm and arrives at 3:20pm.

number one disadvantage sa chicke ati-atinhan is the location, very isolated sila and to think na pang masa ang ila target na mga clients. ang PENG U pang "S" unja mahal pero kusog pa sila sa ati-atihan.

The Cebu-Surigao flight is scheduled four-times weekly starting November 13, 2008. It departs for Surigao at 10:20am and lands at 11:10am. It leaves Surigao at 11:30am and arrives in Mactan Cebu International Airport at 12:20pm.

The daily Busuanga flights start on October 6, 2008. It departs for Busuanga at 9:05am and lands at 10:25am. It returns to Manila at 10:25am and arrives in NAIA Terminal 3 at 11:25am.

there are rumors that the construction of this mall will only push through when nonoc nickel mining revives its operation.

mcdo is more expensive though compared to jollibee. As regard their customers/diners, jollibee is more masa whereas in mcdo medyo sosyal.

i hope the 2nd branch of jollibee will be put up near the pier or near the public market or even near grandstand and surigao high.

The conversion of 18 municipalities (Bayugan, Tandag & Cabadbaran included) into component cities last year were strongly opposed by the League of Cities of the Philippines due to non compliance of the requirements provided for in the LGC. A petition to nullify the conversion of this municipalities into cities was filed in the Supreme Court. These are the requirements under LGC and RA 9009, to wit:

Aussie firm keen on investing in Siana gold project

MINING FIRM RED 5 LTD. OF AUSTRALIA is expected to invest $40 million in the Siana gold project in Surigao del Norte.

Red 5 holds a 90-percent beneficial interest in the Siana gold project through Greenstone Resources Corp., which manages the local operations through a joint venture with JCG Resources Corp.

Mines and Geosciences Bureau Director Horacio Ramos said officials of Red 5 had visited the bureau the other week to reinstate the company’s interest in pursuing mine operations in the gold district.

Ramos said the visit was prompted by the MGB’s decision to remove the Siana gold project from the government’s priority mineral development and exploration projects.

“They complained about it and said they are still interested. We asked them to update their feasibility study, submit all requirements and we will help them out,” Ramos said.

He said the firm had already finished its exploration and was set to begin development of the mine site.

The project, which is under a Mineral Production Sharing Agreement, covers 2,023.74 hectares of in Siana, Mainit, Surigao del Norte.

The MGB said the Siana gold project was expected to bring in $45-million investments and generate gross sales of $15 million yearly.

Red 5 earlier said the premining gold endowment at Siana was estimated to reach 2 million ounces.

It said past production from underground and open pit operations in the Siana mine reached 4.9 million tons at an average grade of 6.3 g/t gold.

A narrow vein underground development was carried out from 1938 to 1960 and produced 1.6 million tons at an average grade of 11.8 g/t gold. Open pit mining from 1980 to 1990 produced 3.3 million tons at an average grade of 3.6g/t gold. (Inquirer.net)

i do agree, most particularly the contingent from SJTIT, but considering the economic situation kuman, maybe we should understand na lang at least the spirit of participation was still there.

Yes, back in the 90's Surigao High was a consistent grand champion of Bonok Bonok. Now they are a consistent 4th placer, not bad, at least they are still winner and what is important is that they joined and offer their dance to senor san nicolas de tolentino.

yes, all school or barangays in the city should have a contingent. i think in the early years of bonok bonok festival san nicolas college used to have a contingent but dont know the reason why it was discontinued.

bonok-bonok once joined kadayawan sa davao ug always end up a champion, dont know lang kung nag join sila kuman. pampanga once joined bonok-bonok festival together with davao, mandaue city. yang gingoog city, jabonga and butuan city always na sila nag join. new comer ang cantilan i think.
