guys, i missed your discussion in previous pages about a funeral parlor to rise beside NOVO. kataw-anan...sige ra ko ug katawa sa inyong mga reply.

i guess it all started when someone commented that he saw Mr. Board Member, an owner of a funeral home, being present in the construction site. As far as I know, this man is the administrator of all the real estate properties of the Cortes Family here in Surigao. The prime lot beside NOVO is owned by Cortes Family (now under lease-to-own contract to UNICITY for 20 years) including the ancestral home of the late Vice Governor Marcus Cortes, where Square Toes and D' State Merchant previously held their businesses. So rich yet so elusive, the Cortes Family still holds the key to the future development of Barangay Luna. Since they have much much money, waya sila magkinahanglan na mamaligya nan barato na lupa para maka-kwarta.

so it's UNICITY jed?

FINALLY, it's UNICITY. With two stories and a parking lot, this new and another Chinese store will surely rival NOVO with cheap China products. Welcome to China!

yup ug murag nadajon jud kay early this morning may plane naman nag land. hopefully invhictus will post some updates sa maiden flight kay invited man sija

Official statement from Cebu Pacific:

1. Why they sent ATR instead of airbus. Ans. it's because of the airport's runway limitation.
2. Do you handle chartered flights? Ans. It depends, but we don't have chartered flights as of this moment.
3. Can they compete to AirPhil? Ans. We are the largest airline in the country. We also captured 51% market share, more than PAL and Airphil combined.
4.What urged them to open new flight to Surigao? Ans. We want to promote tourism and economy in the area, as it is our commitment to promote the destinations we fly to.

Rank City Local Income Total Income Dependence on local income

70 Surigao City, SDN 105,984,272 442,209,021 23.97%

^^ i think its the other way around. the city's local income is less than 30% of its total so the city is dependent on IRA or the national allotment for as much as 76%. :(

Ans. We want to promote tourism and economy in the area, as it is our commitment to promote the destinations we fly to.

anyway guys, it's my observation lang, not unless our local leaders will come to realized how advantageous for us to have a bigger and better airport and air services then our city will remain as what it is today for the coming years.

as for tourism, we will remain as an option only and not a destination.

as for other investment opportunities, those opportunities will remain as a golden opportunities not unless we will learn to choose a good leader who knows the real meaning of being competitive.

These are the cities in the philippines that have reached above P100 MILLION local income. ika 70th an surigao. this is good. it just goes to show
that the LGU is working hard to reach this mark considering that we don't have any large scale industries doing business within the city. pacemco, is not that large. btw, what is the base year of these figures? di ba demoted na an surigao city to 3rd class because it hasn't reached the P100 Million mark na local income? am not so sure...

btw also, I'm sure jaoy sad ranking para sa mga MUNICIPALITIES with more than P100 Million local income. what is interesting in this data is that mas daghan pa an mga MUNISIPYO na mas dagko pa ug income kay sa mga SYUDAD.

anyway guys, it's my observation lang, not unless our local leaders will come to realized how advantageous for us to have a bigger and better airport and air services then our city will remain as what it is today for the coming years.

as for tourism, we will remain as an option only and not a destination.

as for other investment opportunities, those opportunities will remain as a golden opportunities not unless we will learn to choose a good leader who knows the real meaning of being competitive.

^^ i think the data is more recent maybe 2009 or 2008.

cities income classification by the dept of finance is based on a 3-year average and they have corresponding brackets. surigao i believe is now 3rd class during the last reclassification in 2008 and the base income considered is for the years 2004-2007. according to city hall insiders they missed maintaining the 2nd class bracket by only about a shortfall of P20million. :)

surigao's local income in the last 2-3 years has reached the P100 million mark if i remember it right during the city reports done by the city mayor every year. :)

here is a look at the cities income classification in the phils. from 1993 to 2005, they dont have figures yet for 2008.

tsk tsk tsk...sayang...if only those managers in revenue-generating departments and local enterprises worked so smart to reach the mark. in my observation, the public market is one area where revenue collection performance was not so good. many times i hear this one councilor complaining so many times about the low collection of the said market.

business tax collection is suppose to be easy to collect since the LGU can always close down those businesses that do not pay taxes on time. i wonder what the treasurer is doing 'though. :ohno:

anyway, the city's income classification does not affect the operations of businesses but it will affect directly the city's capacity to provide services and also the salaries of their employees.

diverting the surigao river if not expensive then it's the best thing to do rather than build a new one.

not unless our local officials will come to realize how advantageous to us having a bigger airport we will remain what we are today on the years to come. Surigao wll forever remain as an option and not a destination.
tinuod jud ng imo gi engun sir....surigao will not be consider to be a destination kundi option lang...............

somehow tana kung ma expand lang ni xa ug ma ca cater ug daku dakung plane lots of opportunity will be open here sa ato city....likewise kung magpabilin ra gihapon...well sorry nalang ta we will remain the same..............

i think the best solution is to just extend the existing runway suitable for bigger planes the best that we can do.. if the mayor can allot a budget for another 200m runway extension..

fyi, siargao airport runway is longer than of surigao airport.:ohno:

have you seen that straight line in the center? tha's the surigao city runway. now tell me where and how to expand that f*cking runway with the surigao river in both ends.

http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj246/lagat_bucket/surigaogoogle.jpg

Its their f*cking problem, because they have the f*cking money to extend the f*cking runway! Now if they cannot extend that because of the f*cking river, they have to find another beautiful f*cking place:lol: for another f*cking longer runway.... :shifty:  :applause:

good morning surigao!

white this is what i have mentioned on the previous pages. Sumitomo company invested in a mining related project at brgy. taganito in claver later last year. workers hired at the construction stage were more or less 4,000.00 workers. it's the biggest investment for the country last year i guess. and i hope that investment will translate into jobs more jobs and more jobs and will improve the economic condition of the province.

NBN is a government controlled TV Station thus they promotes PGMA's projects as a way of informing the public what has PGMA have been accomplished during her term. the other day ABS-CBN has this kind of a tribute to Philippine Presidents through Pilipinas Ngayon aired at Studio 23. The program shows our leaders accomplishments and the real situation of our country after a decade and infairness statistically PGMA's have done so much than to our last leaders in terms of infra and other social developments.

After watching the program, i came to realize that PGMA has done so much for this country but only a few were able to see and appreciate it. in our region in particular, we have the new Magsaysay bridge in Butuan City and this Sumitomo Plant project in Claver not to mention the completion of the Surigao-Davao Coastal road project and of course the Siargao Airport Expansion project and the Siargao Raod which was recently completed.
