Dont worry bro Im putting a big mall in Baltazar area, Mc Do, Dunkin Donut, Pizza huts, Movie Houses, Banks, Etc. Im going to provide internet connections and Telephone lines also. Cable Tv is already existed in most of the islands. Electricity will be 24/7. Airpor in Bagumbayan area will be upgraded. We' re having an expressway also that criss cross the whole islands. The expressways will be named I-76, I-95, I-66, and I-85. All barangays and towns along the expressways are having their exits. Manufacturing companies will be establish along the coastals and mid-islands. Major Town Ports will be upgraded. A state University will be created also, majors in fisheries, Agriculture, Engineering and Medical courses. A Camping Park will be created in Loreto areas also. Beaches, Resorts will sprouts in eastern islands w/ scuba divings, and islands hopping centers. Whew, Kulang pa ba????

I totally agree with all these suggestions raisey. regarding item number 3, we'll just wait na mahuman ang ato Sanitary landfil. the first and only in Mindanao.

In fairness the pier of Surigao City is one of the cleanest ports...

this is our 21st thread @sajaw ta. the furom started last year pa. it started with two members only. me and cokelitro. cokelitro created first the siargao thread then i guess two years after i created the surigao city thread then since na inactive ang siargao, we decided to merge rakan ang duha ka furom.

surigao thread is one of the most active threads in mindanao. bagan jaon ta sa top 5 sa the most number of threads and yet last year pa kita nag start.

amo na gajud ton raisey. anyway, we really have to develop another commercial area to decongest the city and reclaiming that area might be the best option. bringing the business district in that area is the best solution in decongesting the city proper.

MANILA, August 9, 2005 (STAR) By Rudy Fernandez - The "hanging habagat" or southwest monsoon has arrived in the country, so the public should expect heavy rain for the next several weeks.

Exactly what is the southwest monsoon?

In a report prepared by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), this natural phenomenon gets its start during the summer months in the northern hemisphere, when the Asiatic continent becomes warmer than the surrounding seas.

As a result, a low-pressure area develops over the continent. This happens when a large mass of air rises, causing low pressure in the area the mass left empty and inducing air from over the ocean to flow towards the continent.

The winds, rushing toward the low-pressure area, carry heat and water vapor which, when passing across the Philippines, becomes the prevailing winds in the country.

"This is what is locally known as the ‘habagat,’ the southwest monsoon," the report said.

The "habagat" refers to the flow of very humid wind, which ranges from a perceptible amount of moisture to the point of being oppressive. The phenomenon occurs from June to September.

The airflow is sometimes strong, especially when a storm is over Taiwan. The accompanying rains last for many days or even weeks.

The report said it is the country’s western portion that receives a substantial amount of rainfall while the southwest monsoon holds sway over the Philippines.

The DOST said the onset of habagat is usually first noted in Palawan, followed by Negros and Panay. Much later, the phenomenon reaches Laoag City in Ilocos Norte. This happens around May 6 to June 19.

Meanwhile, the early peak of the southwest monsoon has been observed between July 5 and 9, while its late peak is over Coron, Palawan between Aug. 30 and Sept. 3.

The monsoon recedes, at the earliest, in Dumaguete City between Sept. 14 and 18, and at the latest over Coron between Nov. 7 and 11.

"The arrival of habagat is a gradual process starting with a transition period," the DOST report said.

In the Philippines, the transition period before the onset of the monsoon could vary from March to May. After these months, the atmosphere will change from extremely dry to highly humid, and light rains occur. Thunderstorms are also prevalent during these months.

"When the southwest monsoon starts to blow, we say, ‘Tag-ulan na naman (It’s the rainy season again).’ It’s the season to bring our umbrellas and raincoats. Unfortunately for our children, it is also the start of the school season," the DOST report said.:ohno:

She may only have been a "tool" used by the brains of the 1986 EDSA Revolution to propel the movement to ouster a dictatorship regime, nevertheless, she has done her share of doing something for the country...and for that...she deserves her place in Philippine history...

Philippines ex-President Cory Aquino dies at 76




Aquino, the first woman to lead the Philippines, had been battling colon cancer since March 2008 and died of cardio-respiratory arrest at 3:18 a.m. Saturday (3:18 p.m. Friday ET), said Mai Mislang, a spokeswoman for her son, Philippine Sen. Benigno Aquino III.


Funeral arrangments were being set up, Mislang said. And Philippine President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo has announced a 10-day mourning period for the former president, said Ray Donato, the country's consul-general in Atlanta.


"She was the agent of change in Philippine democracy, and almost all the Filipinos I know revered her during her presidency," Donato said.


Aquino had been born into a wealthy family and was educated in the United States. She had not been involved in politics before her husband, opposition leader Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr., was gunned down at Manila's airport in August 1983 as he returned from exile.


The political novice took over the leadership of her husband's movement after his death and challenged Marcos in a 1986 election, making a yellow dress her trademark and bolstered by the support of the country's Roman Catholic churches.
