The said program was dubbed as “PDI Patrol” which caters news, current affairs, updates and developments of the National Line Agencies, Local Government Units from provincial, municipal and down to the barangays. Inubanan sa hiniusang pakigtambayayungay sa Department of Education ug Ayala Foundation Incorporated, si Gov. Ace Barbers mipirma sa usa ka Memorandum ug Agreement nga ipadayon ang DepEd Internet Connectivity project (DICP) dinhi sa lalawigan sa Surigao del Norte.

Ang maong proyekto nakahatag ug dakong tabang sa pipila ka mga kabatan-onan dinhi sa atong dapit nga walay halos kasayuran sa nagkataas nga panginahanglanon karon sa gitawag nga “advanced information technology”. Court junks appeal of ‘cult’ leader Ecleo

The First Division of the Sandiganbayan junked the reiterated appeal of former Mayor Ruben Ecleo Jr. of San Jose, Surigao del Norte, and leader of the Philippine Benevolent Missionaries Association (PBMA).

Ecleo asked the antigraft court to overturn his conviction on three counts of graft that was handed down in October 13, 2006.

In a three-page resolution promulgated on August 6, 2009, and written by Associate Justice Norberto Geraldez, the First Division denied Ecleo’s second motion for reconsideration and affirmed its February 17, 2009, ruling, which junked the former mayor’s motion for new trial.

The Sandiganbayan ruled that Ecleo presented rehashed arguments in his appeal. The ruling also pointed out that the arguments that were previously considered by the court were the same when it convicted him of fraudulent disbursement of government funds.

“I must be stated, at the outset, that accused Ecleo’s instant second motion for reconsideration partakes the nature of a pro-forma motion, which is prohibited under the Rules of Court,” according the ruling.

The court added that “after painstaking review of accused Ecleo’s second motion, the Court found no compelling reasons to change or modify the Resolution dated May 7, 2009, sought to be reconsidered.”

The other members of the First Division, Associate Justices Rodolfo Ponferrada and Alexander Gesmundo, concurred with the decision penned by Geraldez, chairman of the division,

Ecleo was sentenced to 31 years imprisonment, while his co-accused, former municipal planning and development coordinator Anadelia Navarra and private contractor Ricardo Santillano of PBMA Builders, were each sentenced to 21 years.

All three were ordered to jointly indemnify the municipal government for the P2.86-million worth of unlawful payments made to the contractor.

In the findings of the Sandi*ganbayan, Ecleo was found guilty beyond reasonable doubt of approving the full payment for the construction of a public market, a new municipal building and a guesthouse that government auditors discovered were tainted by fraud.

Inspectors found that the public market and the supposed new municipal building were mere concrete-and-steel skeletons, while the purported guesthouse turned out to be a private structure.

Ecleo is the son of Rep. Glenda Ecleo of Surigao del Norte. He is the “supreme master” of the Philippine Benevolent Missionaries Association, an alleged religious cult.

According to earlier reports, 22 missionary supporters were killed when they tried to block the police who stormed the group’s compound in Dinagat, Surigao del Norte, to arrest Ecleo, who was summoned to face trial in Cebu in relation to the death of his wife Alona Bacolod-Ecleo. Her body was found dumped in a ravine in January 2002, and the authorities found that she was strangled.

we were accompanied by a tour guide from this area, i can say na gana ini cja na falls kay mura cya ug falls inside a cave with approximate height of 10 meters ..the rushing sound of the falls bounced back to the two rocky walls, gamay ra nga light an makasulod and you will really feel a diferent energy and feeling inside..another intersting feature is the rock table in the middle of the falls...outside is a wide area for picnics..and from that level ,the water will fall to another 6 meter falls.

if i were part of the tourism council i will invite those professional surigaonon flickr photograpers for a competition during the bonok bonok 090909, buy their surigao, siargao best shots to be displayed in the luneta mounted on montrous tarpaulins all around.:lol::lol:

This is my picture maam!hehe ..i went here when i was in high school with my family and relatives....

we were accompanied by a tour guide from this area, i can say na gana ini cja na falls kay mura cya ug falls inside a cave with approximate height of 10 meters ..the rushing sound of the falls bounced back to the two rocky walls, gamay ra nga light an makasulod and you will really feel a diferent energy and feeling inside..another intersting feature is the rock table in the middle of the falls...outside is a wide area for picnics..and from that level ,the water will fall to another 6 meter falls.

I'm pretty sure Siargao doing much improvements in their place. Considering paradise beaches at its best! Look at their Sayak Airport it's very impressive... I guess what we can do is to help them just to promote our tourism but then again Siargao is part of Caraga so its all good. ....this waterfalls is said to have Seven Steps...I had an interesting talk with the good Mayor of Sison, the Honorable Lycester Fetalvero, that he plans to put in place the necessary infrastructures first (like all weather barangay roads) in his barangays to pave the way of the tourism potentials of Sison...

Good to hear that our LGUs are now working on it. I think publicity and financial factors are imperical to development, however, the readiness and our political mindset must go in parallel. I am one of the guys who were tasked to do a benchmarking in Bohol a year ago. When we reported that Bohol has offering a 5 to 7-year holiday on real property tax for fresh tourism investments, it narrowed the eyebrowse distance of some of our legislators.

We are very lucky that we are spared away from this supertyphoon strength weather disturbance in the northwest pacific. Currently, the supertyphoon is located to the north east of surigao and this will not affect any parts of the Phils. With maximum winds of 195kph and base from forecast will go up to 230kph in the coming days. The supertyphoon strength will last (base from forecast) for about 4 days. Refer to below satellite pix.
