View Full Version : Baton Rouge to get $4 billion traffic Corridor cajun504 March 8th, 2008, 01:37 AM Four lane, 60 to 120 mile $4 billion traffic "loop" brloop.com How do you feel about this project. g-man430 March 8th, 2008, 02:04 AM Wow. What a great thread. MasonsInquiries March 8th, 2008, 03:22 AM great news for baton rouge. looks like it's gonna' do that area a lot of good....... http://brloop.com/Img/ParishAreaWDoughnut.jpg SlidellWeather March 8th, 2008, 06:37 AM This has been needed for a long time. Everytime I've driven through BTR...I get stuck in traffic. lamsalfl March 9th, 2008, 01:40 AM It will create urban sprawl. Why don't they just build a rail system like progressive cities are, and locals wouldn't have to worry about traffic! There is a 50,000 city in Wisconsin building a rail system. TU 'cane March 9th, 2008, 04:40 AM Well this is a big development. Good for the area. SRG March 9th, 2008, 05:20 AM It will create urban sprawl. Kenosha has about 95,000 people. But I agree with you for once. 94th best place to live in the United States, according to Money Magazine. What is OKC ranked? Geaux Tigers March 9th, 2008, 05:49 PM I'm not poo-pooing this project, but I wouldn't hold my breath on most (if any) of this loop getting built. It's VERY MUCH needed, but enivornmentalists will tear this project up due the shear amount of swampland that will be "disturbed" with it's construction. Cannonized March 10th, 2008, 04:56 AM Yeah the title of the thread is misleading. This hasn't been approved. We're a long way from seeing this project come to fruition. The inner US90 loop and improvements could certainly be a possibility. The outer loop is too big. It would be traversing deserted wilderness. Baton Rouge is not that big. And building a loop to encourage development is a mistake as well... all it will do is guarantee a sprawly mess. cajun504 March 11th, 2008, 04:34 AM Sorry about the title. And about the rail idea, this is Louisiana here. You yanks would not believe how under utilized our cities are. |
