Danny21 March 8th, 2008, 06:37 AM dont know if there's a thread for this already....but thought this would make an interesting insight into the facade of this building...
Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences is a world-class building along the coast road in Kuwait City.

Working for Pilkington Architectural and in conjunction with Ohio Architects NBBJ, IOCHRE designed two separate facade structures on this project. Each of these was inclined, and curved on plan. The North Facade, at 30m high and 40m wide was the main facade for the Building with the South Facade using a similar design concept, albeit on a smaller scale.
The North Facade comprises 30m high vertical trusses and horizontally spanning tension rigging. The trusses had to be precambered outwards to allow for the prestressing of the rigging pulling the trusses into the building.

The South Facade, on the rear elevation of the Building is smaller in both height and width but is an elegant structure in its own right.

eva357 December 24th, 2008, 09:08 AM Hi everybody, I am 20 years old and too heavy. My cholesterol level is 242 (LDL cholesterol 168). Besides this I don’t have any other health problems. The doctor gave me prescription but I didn’t take them. Now my cholesterol must have increased even worse. What should I do? Should I begin taking pills again without asking my doctor? What is your opinion?
Danny21 December 24th, 2008, 01:32 PM ^^ eva357... ahem.. this is a website about skyscrapers not a diabetes or any health related blog.....
but since u asked, i shall give u my opinion...
A total cholesterol of 242!!! my my!!... that's above what's regarded as high(>/=240) , and an LDL level of 168 , that's in the range of high too (160-189)...n ur just 20!!
and u dont hav any health problems?? .surprising... if nt now latr u surely will.... these levels are high risk for heart disease, artherosclerosis, pancreatitis,n so on...
i would suggest only one thing, u get bac to ur doctor, n take the prescription pills plz!!
no use f complaining whn u rnt taking corrective measures... n u describe urself as "heavy", plz be on ur way to becoming "LIGHT".. that would help... restrict fats, oils, n evrythin u probably already know... stick to a strict diet regiment... and next tym, for opinion on health matters, plz apporach ur doctor..or a health related blog atleast, not skyscrapercity!!!:ohno:
