Consists of an 12 storey tower on Palmer Street and a 2 storey shopping centre on Palmer street aswell on the site which has been sitting empty for a few years now. There will be 66 apartments, and to be developed by Sydney developer Glen Alpine. Will get more details soon.

Wow, excellent. Seems like they've kept the same concept as Symphony, the original proposal for the site (remember - "Symphony...the excitment begins" - yeh well it ended pretty quickly). It still consists of a low rise complex at the front for retail and restaurants, with an arcade running through it, then an apartment tower at the rear of the site. Except Glen Alpine have improved the design and increased the height. Win win!!

^^ nice one. The new design looks much more promising. I can't believe how these projects keep on coming amidst the current economic doom and gloom. Awesome stuff Townsville.

Site is now for sale (http://www.ferryproperty.com.au/pol/property/search.asp?f_PropertyID=1407862&f_AgentID=2393&xsl=2393&f_st=1), We weren't really missing out on much anyway, very cringing and bland architecture:

Site is for sale again, with the current DA expiring in July 2012. Thought I'd post this aerial which provides a good perspective of the area. A shame, we were just one lot away from that entire block being urban renewal.
