It's ok for me as long as they are compensated by the gov't with right amount. :)

They don't have to. They are government owned land.

You mean it will go as far as the arrow points?

Not exactly. The airport perimeter is shown exactly on the map below your arrow. Did you not find it strange there is no house there on the opposite side of Gampis road?

It will extend up to that point. The runway will be extended up to the oval of camp hamac only. Its where the 2.5K mark ends. Probably at the edge of the road markings illustrated above. The next 200 meters further is the mandatory clearway.

While the Gampis road will be relocated soon when they eventually will make use of that area for future expansion to accommodate wide-body aircraft such as A350 or B787 should the need arise. But a 2.5K runway can accommodate as big as B748 or B77W for domestic or regional run. So it is future-proof.

I'd read an online article ( can''t find it now) that the runway near the river is prone to erosion. Is the gov't taking action about this matter?

Yes. There was in fact a riverbank protection there. You can clearly see it while standing at the fishport. They were damaged before due to previous floodings and is being repaired as we speak. I think the brown area on the map shows the mark and how the flood has eaten away some portion of it.
