well, its the lang spoken in school because of the "ROC" thing... but for lang used at home taiwanese is still dominant. the official "bussiness and school language" i suppose is mando, so more people NEED to know it, but for home and informal situations TWnese and hakka still dominate.. its true the younger ppl are losing their ability slowly though.. Its actually quite different now to how it started as an amoy min nam dialect in china, its changed quite alot with many new jap words.. and that dialect is now extinct in china and anywhere else, it died out, hence it is unique to taiwan..
