As of March 2011 it's still completely dead. The site looks disgusting from the Metromover after a rain. There's still a lot of construction in Miami, it's just all in 5-20 story buildings scattered all over the place.

Like this building you probably didn't even know about way off the beaten path on the west side of Miami beyond Little Havana.

Basically, it was the most interesting designs for Miami that didn't get built. Or maybe spires are just illegal in Miami.

Is Miami's construction boom starting up again? Or has it leveled-off? .

It never leveled off. It completely died in 2008 and has not started up again. The pictures I am posting now show how the sites are still dead.

America is best ;)

God damn right it is. Guaranteed within a few years something is going up here. And it will be a quality development, not built out of greed or for show. Miami is only third world to the US. This is also way on the outside of the downtown district, across the street are two story residential houses and a several acre park. This being built would expand the urban area significantly. It just wasn't time for that much growth all at once. But it is now :)

I didn't mean to sound like some short sited, overly patrioitic, backwoods conservative american flag waver, even though that's how I came accross. I'm just saying that at least for now it's a little more ecelectic and stable than most other countries who can only be jealous of it. For now no other nation seems to have as much as the US to offer.
