View Full Version : Venezuela - One Place Per Day
MARACUCHisimo March 23rd, 2008, 10:16 PM Hey guys! This is the venezuelan thread for posting some pictures of a place every day. You and me are going to show this magical country in the souther extreme of America.
Let's enjoy Venezuela!
State: Dependencias Federales (Federal Dependences)
Name: Archipielago Los Roques (Los Roques Archipelago)
Info: Los Roques Archipelago are a federal dependency of Venezuela located in the Caribbean Sea, consisting of about 350 islands, cays or islets. The archipelago is an atoll located 80 miles (128 km) directly north of the port of La Guaira, and is a 40-minute flight from Caracas. Being almost an untouched coral reef, it attracts many visitors, especially from Europe, some of which come in their own yachts and anchor in the inner, protected shallow waters. However, development and tourism are controlled.

The height of the falls is so great that before getting anywhere near the ground, the water is buffeted by the strong winds and turned into mist. The base of the falls feeds into the Kerep River which flows into the Churun River, a tributary of the Carrao River.
