The textbook glass-and-steel American skyscraper slab takes a simple, yet elegant twist with this blue glass and white aluminum tower. At its heart it is another boring block, but with its leading and trailing edges curved, it is different from other less interesting buildings that have come before it. The 50-story building is one of the icons of the Houston skyline, and in the blazing Texas sun it reflects light in all directions, only serving to draw more attention to itself. The building stands out not only for its appearance, but its stance. Unlike the buildings surrounding, it deviates from the downtown grid to greet people head-on and show the world its glittering expanse.

9/10...I can't name any other scraper that has such a smooth and reflective facade with a unique shape that really soars. I love the reflectivity the facade provides as well.

I like the rounded shape of the building, and the shiny blue glass. The only thing I feel that lets this building down is that it has no particually distinctive features, like a spire for example, or a logo on it.

The way the concept was worked out is good, no doubt. And the concept itself is -although simple- worthwhile enough to apply to a structure.

I don't like the vuilding much, as I find it to be too "80s" in feel. It just looks like a very dated design, which was gussied up with modern chintz.

Sleek looking. I was surprised that it was built in the early 80's. However it doesnt look like it's nearly 700' tall. Looks quite squat. Maybe it's just these angles, though.

This type of architecture is far from being my favorite, but this one does it quite nicely and integrates very well with its surroundings. I like the attention put into small details that bring the shape out, such as the varying thickness of the lines and the very small, almost unnoticeable setback at the top that "finishes" the tower very nicely.
