These are some photos of Cartagena (Colombia's 6th city), as you will see Cartagena has both colonial and modern zones that makes it a very speciall city.

I visited when I was 5....... so of course I don't remember much of it. Though the city looks cool, typical carribean latin american city, you shouldn't be afraid to show the less sparkling parts of the city though ;)

I'm not, but why would i show poor places if many people dont know the good places. By the way, I've never seen Paris's poor zones so you shoudnt be afraid of showing them either ;).

It all depends on what you wish for this thread.

Do you want to give foreigners an occasion to discover this city.
Or do you want to give a false image like they do in tourism ads. Pretend the city is something it is not, at least partially.


I think it is good to show the totality of your city, not only because I personally find this much more interesting, but also because only showing one side is a form of propaganda, it's just bullshit in the end.

Of course some people only want to see the nice and shiny.

But those who only want to see that are not worth loosing time over, they are generally those who afterwards engage in mass tourism, not caring about local cultures, staying in massive resort towns.


PS: I never hesitate to show all sides of Paris, good and bad ;)

First of all Cartagena is not my city. And, as I didnt go to Cartagena's poor places because like all tourists I like to go to the good zones, I didnt take photos of them.

Besides I bet that if I put poor zones photos anybody will see all the pics, in fact...this are photos of the best zones in Cartagena and nobody replies.

Very good pictures! Cartagena is a beautiful city, should be one of the main tourist destinations in the caribbean. By the way congrats Alejoaoa you did a great job capturing the tourist district of the city
