Spent a pleasant Easter weekend in Richmond, VA before traveling on to D.C. Visited VCU campus and strolled around the Fan District taking these pics. It was a very beautiful weekend. Enjoy.

Next stop Union Station. Richmond to D.C. was approx 2 hours.

Wasn't it once the capitol of the South? Anyway, nice city!

^^ During the American Civil War, Richmond served as the capital of the Confederate States of America
Anyway the city looks very historical for an american standards

^^ indeed ... and there aren't many railways like in the last pic, I guess

probably not because the real americans drive their massive cars

Its kind of weird for me to be able to know exactly where you were standing when each of those pics were taken. LOL

I love the pics from Franklin Ave. and the Fan district...i love that architecture.

I love Richmond. It's such a beautiful contrast of a big city and the old South.

It's only an 17 hour drive from here, and the trees were blooming on an early Easter. Our blooming season is in early May. It's still frigid and snowy here.

Not really of any talls but there is quite a bit of construction going on. Mostly downtown (not really seen in any of those pics). Also quite a bit of restorations of older structures....frustrating to be downtown sometimes...but its worth it.......:)
