View Full Version : Ajanta Cave Settlement | India
b3ta March 31st, 2008, 07:43 AM Built in the 2nd century BC. The whole complex was basically carved out like a sculpture of a giant rock. This picture will give you a sense of scale. (look at the bridge)

While not as impressive as the Ellora Caves, they are still one of the best examples of rock-cut architecture. And in excellent condition considering they are over 2000 years old.

Koobideh December 9th, 2009, 04:20 PM This is amazing. I don't know how anyone could rate this below 10..
desiguy66 December 11th, 2009, 07:58 PM This would be huge challenge in today's times. To think they did this 2000 years ago....imagine the architects, engineerings, craftsman, and especially the tools they had to do this! 10/10
