Behgjet Pacolli is an albanian billionaire, President and owner of swiss based Mabetex Group (Head Quarters in Lugano), and leader of the biggest party in opposition ("AKR") in the Parliament of Republic of Kosovo. Mabetex Group has an impressive portofolio, such as the renovation of The Kremlin in Moscow, The Precidential Palace of Khazakistan etc...

The project is designed by the world renowned architect Zaha Hadid, and will have 20 floors - each floor consisting of a single 600 m2 luxury appartment in "Ponte di Melide", Lugano. The project will cost 120 milllion euro.
G.C.F March 31st, 2008, 07:18 PM I'm was woundering, that why Behgjet Pacolli doesn't do nothing in Kosovo, because my opinion is that kosovo needs more projects than Switzerland.

He had many projects for Kosovo and Albania. The problem is, none of them has been approved!! The tower-complex in Tirana, i guess wasnt approved because of the french masterplan. The projects in Kosovo, well the former government was jealous of him and didnt want him to buy popularity in Kosovo (they knew about his ambitions to get involved in politics)... What will happend next with the new government, only the time can show... Thaci and Pacolli seem to get along pretty well

Money, money, money!!!
CrazySerb March 31st, 2008, 08:09 PM Great...a thread about a Swiss billionaire building a tower in Switzerland.:|
What does this have to do with Eastern Europe/Balkans?:?
SkaNdErBeG March 31st, 2008, 08:13 PM its about an albanian politician and billionaire building a tower in Switzerland... Its the kind of thread, that would have given you an online orgasm - if the investor was a serb...
CrazySerb March 31st, 2008, 08:18 PM The guy lives, works and pays taxes to Switzerland. Like you already said, he has never done anything in/for Albania.
bgrs March 31st, 2008, 08:20 PM Луд сърбин, how does it feel like to have some competition :)
vari k. March 31st, 2008, 08:35 PM The guy lives, works and pays taxes to Switzerland. Like you already said, he has never done anything in/for Albania.
Last time i checked he was Albanian
A better question is WTF are YOU doing HERE? serbs have their own little section in the forum now, so get out.
PyRoMaNiAc March 31st, 2008, 08:35 PM I wouldn't exactly call the Kremlin renovation an impressive project. Wasn't that considered one of the largest corruption scandals in Russia?
SkaNdErBeG March 31st, 2008, 08:40 PM The guy lives, works and pays taxes to Switzerland. Like you already said, he has never done anything in/for Albania.
He is an albanian politician and businessman, leader of the biggest party in opposition in the Parliament of Kosovo. Obviously he lives in Kosovo
Yes he pays taxes in Switzerland and has swiss citizenship because that is where he started his career, but also in Khazakistan, Dubai, Russia, Italy and many other places in the world later on. So what? He is obviously a world citizen, since his companies activities are of international character. The absolute majority of the projects done by Mabetex, are not only designed by albanians, but also executed by albanian engineers and albanian workers (Yes, including the Kremlin...)
Who said he has never done anything for albanians? I just said none of his big projects from early 2000 has been approved by the previous government in Kosovo.
He employs thousands of albanians - have built the american university of Kosovo - donated tens of millions of euro for various purposes - he lives and works as a politician in Kosovo - co-financed the albanian lobby in the US - have invested in hotels, banks, media companies etc. in Kosovo - and plans to invest more in the future.... If that is not contribution than what is?

I don't understand why fucking they have to be jealous, if kosovo wants to be nice city have to use Pacolli's offer and its help. It doesn't mean nothing is thaqi and pacolli get along pretty well.
And sorry my unnecessary post. I think that pacolli will build kosovo in 4 years very nice.
paral0c0 March 31st, 2008, 10:54 PM Sarik Tara the owner of Enka(http://www.enka.com/) is the second richest man in Turkey and he is a Bosniak from Macedonia:)
So what?
3tmk March 31st, 2008, 11:10 PM I don't really like Hadid (on the other hand most guys on the french forum adore her, go figure), but this project is like so many of her other works, weird
Reminds me of one weird project that sprung up around 2000 for LD, luckily it was never realized, because it was even uglier than this
will the Swiss approve?
Kapedani March 31st, 2008, 11:30 PM So what?
So what?? This means our penises are waaayyyy bigger than yours...
Why are people so stupid?
3tmk April 1st, 2008, 12:02 AM actually I just realized this project is in Switzerland
Küsel April 1st, 2008, 10:56 AM Does this project really have a serious chance?
Greg April 1st, 2008, 11:06 AM Does this project really have a serious chance?

Not really :ohno:
Tony Resta April 2nd, 2008, 12:39 PM If Lugano were to have its first "true" skyscraper (not like the 17 floor residential buildings ruling the skys) then i wouldnt want it to be so far from the actual centre, something like this would be nice to have in the centre of Lugano, near the lake.
Küsel April 2nd, 2008, 03:09 PM I am not sure... a cluster maybe but a single skyscraper wouldn't fit in the center. I think it's not even that misplaced. But cooler would have been a "lakebridge" 100m above the water surface parallel to the dam ;)
Tony Resta April 2nd, 2008, 07:05 PM How tall is this anyway?
SkaNdErBeG April 7th, 2008, 12:43 AM ^^ It is located near the lake, and it is 20 floors tall. My guess would be somewhere between 80m - 90m. It contains 20 luxury appartments - one for each floor, each appartment 600 m2..
railcity April 7th, 2008, 08:47 AM ^^ It is located near the lake,
Yes, but it's in Melide, at the railroad and highway embankment, 6km outside of Lugano. Basically every child in Switzerland knows this location because the open-air park Swiss Miniatur is located there. Downtown Lugano is what you see on the picture at the end of the Lake.
Another view on Melide: http://medicalmurals.com/Gallery/albums/Client/switzerland_melide.jpg
The tower would be quite a landmark within such beautiful nature. It better be nice. ;)
Kumanovari May 17th, 2008, 12:54 PM Cool.
donTrauma November 15th, 2009, 11:19 PM I'm was woundering, that why Behgjet Pacolli doesn't do nothing in Kosovo, because my opinion is that kosovo needs more projects than Switzerland.
the reason that he doesn`t invest in kosovo is that nobody votes him for a president or prime minister , and the state is corrupted
