View Full Version : Your predictions for the future of Brum!
Brummyboy92 April 3rd, 2008, 02:35 PM And I dont mean building that have been rumoured or proposed, I mean things like expansion of Birmingham city centre and the suberbs, maybe a new big football team, maybe a new main train station etc etc
My predictions are that Birmingham city centre will expand down to the east and the area by opal. The outskirts of Birmingham will expand in the North and the west eventually making places like Walsall and Dudley part of Birmingham, and maybe even solihull in the far future.
I reckon the airport will have three large terminals by 2030 and a fourth on the drawing board, a new main train station will be built either in the east or by the NIA. New street will still be a main station however with a newer station it will take stress off New street.
I also reckon strongly that in the far future maybe by 2035 a possible underground would have been built as in the end it will have to happen and the longer we wait the more expensive it will be to build.
I have many more predicitions but I cant think of them write now, but whats yours?

:puke:
I don't want to live in Birmingham! Near is good enough. Imagine if Birmingham became part of London - I'm sure a lot of people would have something to say about that. :|
I like town living, not city living.
Telfordboy April 3rd, 2008, 03:30 PM It can sprawl this way, save us from those rural folk and their pitchforks.

You could become a celebrity if you became a farmer - a very unique-looking farmer indeed. I'd buy it.
Telfordboy April 3rd, 2008, 04:12 PM Nah, don't like the stink. Although I would consider my own herd of cow assassins. That would be cool and it would make a great cartoon.
Erebus555 April 3rd, 2008, 05:09 PM I reckon Druids Heath will have been demolished and regeneration scheme will have taken hold by 2030. I also think a massive phased regeneration scheme for Chelmsley Wood and Smiths Wood will have also started by 2030 too.

How about a pirate then? Pirates are way cooler than farmers. Pirates and farmers have remarkably similar use of speech in many cases.
For example:
Pirate: Arrrghhh!
Farmer: Ooooh Arrrrggghh!
No?
Forget it ;)
Telfordboy April 4th, 2008, 10:32 AM I could do with being a Pirate. Pirates are so cool, then I could drink loads of Rum and then do my Captain Jack Sparrow impression
mk61 April 4th, 2008, 11:00 AM Arrgghhh!
Telfordboy April 4th, 2008, 11:14 AM I wonder where I can get an eye patch.

i'd hopefully like to see the ring of :puke: around Brums centre dissappear altogether, i'd also like to see most of those cruddy cul de sac estate housing in central BHam gone, and replaced with something better
