It's flat. Going west on I-70 you rise 4,000 feet in elevation, and you'd never know the difference.

Downtown Wichita looks pretty low but dense. I have noticed that in suburban areas of Wichita, there are a lot of housing developments centered around small ponds or lakes. Also Wichita is a very industrial and blue collar city, as the "Air Capital of the World." It also features the Old Town warehouse entertainment district. The Wichita Waterwalk mixed use project looks promising:

The Kansas side of the KC suburbs also do quite well, especially Overland Park.
