500m is a good landmark if you have 200-300m towers around, not 100-150m.

Liuzhou is one of city in Guangxi Province. Guiyang is the capital of Guizhou province which is the poorest province in China. *it might not be now but it was 3 yrs ago*

You're right, but I wonder if Shanxi province (way up north) is now poorer than Guizhou, given the fact that the neighboring provinces of Guizhou (Yunnan, Guangxi and Sichuan, to summerize) are really improving. Liuzhou is quite an example. A secondary city, between Nanning (Guangxi's provincial capital) and Guilin (big tourist hot spot), it reflects the booming developpment of southern provinces.

(Actually, if anyone has any info regarding Nanning's developpment, I'd like to know more. I haven't been there for a decade, and it must have changed a lot !)

yeah well 3,6 million says wikipedia and 303m is right above the magic mark. so its not like its another shanghai tower rising. in the skyscraper section you see a bunch of other for chinese standards rather small cities with building of about 250m.

Very true, all major Chinese cities appear to be stepping up. I wish them all well. Skyscrapers are also great for big populations, more efficient use of land. :cheers:

it is so far up already :cheers: buildings you do not check very often always have a lot of visible progress when you come back, i should stop checking a lot more towers so it doesn't seem slow to me as well

Definately the best tower in the whole city.

Look at Liuzhou on the up and up. Haha, if anyone ever goes there you NEED to eat the Luoshi Fen, or snail broth rice noodles. Absolutely one of the most distinct and delicious flavors in the culinary world. I really miss Guangxi and Southern Chinese food.
