May be someone should go for the Bernstein advantage. (Call a lawyer firm if you are affected by Asbestos and sue the IR.) :)

+1.
I am guessing it would cost next to nothing to replace those with something more contemporary and a darn sight more attractive.

Damn, even after spending a few million $s for a unit you don't get a central A/C. That sucks.

individual units is probably more efficient and more convenient in case of a breakdown

Excellent shots!

The close up of the exterior is amazing & so is the quality.

I like the way the AC is hidden away so they dont ruin the asthetics of the towers.

What is all the blue fencing around the building? Another building?

I guess practically that makes sense but that's just unheard of in this part of the world especially in the buildings which were built after 70-75. Even the old rickety rental apartments have central a/c in them.

Heh, just be happy people aren't hanging them out their windows. I'm sure laundry is bound to appear though.

BTW, do you have an example of an old rickety apartment with central AC?

Well you live in Austin, just pay a visit to any old apartment building in a crappy part of town. There are good chances that they will have a central a/c in the apartment unit.

Well, I have yet to see one in NJ. There are so many old apartment buildings in north jersey but never seen one with central a/c. Even I have lived in two different highrise buildings in the past but no central a/c there neither.

Thats true! I live in a pretty old condo - no external A/Cs!! No hanging laundries either - despite the fact its crawling with desis!! :D

i went to nyc

most apartments there even in posh areas like Greenwich village and Chelsea actually share washing machines.

So I guess each country has its own little quirks.

The flats in imperial are big and I expect them to dry their clothes inside.

This building looks prettier every time you see it!!

Also the fact that the entire face is clad and not painted gives it an even better more neater look.. Paint jobs in the city start to look worn out pretty quickly. So this is great. More builders should consider skipping textured paint and clad the entire building, even if residential.
