The buildings have fancy Italian names like "Bellissimo" but the design and shape are more of the Soviet-era. It prolly should be renamed Lodha-Vladivostokova.

If you are implying that these look like "commie blocks" well then i beg to differ.Bellissimo might not be oozing italianess from everywhere but it has a nice shape especially the "wavy" design plus a respectable amount of glass.

I agree with Avishar....the design is simple, refined and the impact on skyline is quite graceful unlike many candy box compostions one see's sprouting all over the place)

Ok. Moving on.... the first tower is completed. This would have been a completed tower if we were still under the perception that Bellissimo is single. But now, thanks to grape wine, it has found a mate and looks like soon they will live happily ever after. :)

I think Bellisimo looks pretty cool, however, nope most of the apartments will NOT be facing the sea as Minerva is coming up right in front of it.. So infact in about 4 years Bellisimo will not even be visible from Hajiali at all.. You will just see a part of he A wing.. Rest will be covered..

I don`t know guys. Maybe I`m just biased and this is just my opinion but I actually think even though the facade design is very bleak and almost mediocre - that overall the structure makes quite a statement. Simply by virtue of its scale and presence! Its a very powerful looking edifice!!

I say keep the race course, and beautify it. Lets not kill Mumbai's rich colonial past. Besides, which city has a race course in the middle of its downtown?

it is owned by MCGM and leased to Royal Western India Turf Club it is home to 5 Indian derby teams and an important landmark in Mahalaxmi rather in whole Mumbai
and according to RWITC website Grandstand off the course is a heritage structure!!!!

I think the idea of the a race-course in the midst of south Bombay is hot!! The idea of making it into a central park set up is even better but in this country one needs to be careful coz chances are as soon this goes into complete control of the BMC it may be out the window.. and you`ll see builders vying for patches of land here.. so its better off being in control by a private organisation as is now..

Nice - Quick question : That curved rooftop looks different from the original render. While the original render shows it spanning the entire Belissimo top surface - in this it looks like it will terminate where its currently at - the other side seems to have tall pillar like structures. Even if they put the curve on the unfinished side - it will rise as opposed to flattening out in the original structure. does that seem accurate?

Correcto.

They've also gotten rid of the bridge-room that would have connected the 2 wings:

btw the construction contractor - BE Billimoria (http://www.bebanco.com/ongoing-projects-residential.html#Lodha-Bellissimo) puts the number of floors at 53. Title changed from 50 to 53fl.

this building only looks good once you get close to it and see how they used glass panels for the balconies, and the window details. It's quite an ugly building from far. Good thing the monstrosity will be hidden by another building soon.

These are from last week. Never got down to uploading them then.
You can see the Minerva cranes and rehab buildings in front of it.
It looks really nice up close.

Wish they would hurry up and finish the last wing.

Anyway thank you Ashbaggin!

Yeah, I can't wait for it to be done too! Any idea if they are planning to connect the wave/crest things on the roofs of the respective wings?

I dont think so.

Nothing to indicate that they will be joined at the top.

The towers will be seperate however, im just speculating.

Lastest renders can confirm this although they too can be unreliable.
