RNA Mirage -- Worli, Mumbai

The 40-story residential RNA Mirage is one of the first modern skyscrapers to come up since the Indian economic boom. Developed by RNA Builders and designed by architect Hafeez Contractor, the retro-futuristic art-deco design is a homage to Mumbai's rich art deco architecture and has influenced many newer towers with its throwback look and falling water podium.

I love the design, but the tower's original design was actually a bit funkier, which to me looked more like a designer purse than a tower, so good thing it changed.

RNA Mirage is one of the first groundbreaking skyscrapers to come up at Worli, paving the way for increasingly taller buildings that have culminated in the numerous supertalls proposed in the area today. It is located next to Raheja Legend, also u/c:

That garbage TV tower has got to make way for Oriental Pearl Tower or CN Tower like structure soon.

it looks so ugly & ruining the view of all the highrises coming around it.

I actually like the way it looks. Besides, it is symbolic of Bombay & Maharashtra's foray into television and radio.

I agree as i been thinking that for sometime now.

Something better can be designed & built now as it juts looks dated and an eye sore.

Something like CN Tower, Sydney's TV Tower or even Oriental Pearl.

not until the tower is there. oberoi had to change his building from 90 stories to 65 stories because the GoI objected to it

I have a question for you; how far are these two apart from each other, and have you come across some height details about these two? Meanwhile at it, how far apart are these two from the Beaumonde project? Pheww....more than one question, but hey pal I have to ask....curiosity doesn't kill this cat ;-D, besides I must know since Mumbai has changed so much since I was last there in 2004.

Wow, alright...

The two buildings are about 2 blocks apart from each other, and about 750 metres from Beau Monde, by road.

The height of the buildings (including car-park levels) in terms of floor count is clear in their respective thread titles, but I can only make an educated guess on the actual height of the structures. :)

I must say when it comes to getting a project designed K.Raheja always goes somewhere good. They know whos a good architect. Whoever designed Atlantis is very good a choosing a cladding. Nice and shiny.

Will certainly stand out!

View of the tower from the BWSL. When it opens up to traffic, we will be guaranteed a constant stream of updates.

the design is truly what makes the mirage stand out , gives more credence to the fact that Design must always have precedence over height , the sooner mumbai developers realize this the better it would be.

Man, that does look nice. Very impressive. That spire somehow completes the picture.

Oh yeah, and separately, seeing that 50km/h speed limit sign in the picture with Coulthards car also brought a smile.

Anyway, it doesn't really look like the render.

It is just me or this one just feels more than 40-fls tall. something like 48-50 fls.

Im happy its "TO", looks good.

Just need more close up better quality pics thats all.

Its the building next door "Raheja Legend" which concerns me. Wont be surprised if the design of the glass facade has changes yet again!

Not really. The building looks like a cell phone to me (an old cell phone with the antenna sticking out). That does not mean it looks bad, cell phones are good things:)
