One thing we seem to have plenty of (amongst other things) is lovely public realm work - statues, sculptures, fountains, paving etc. Maybe even murals? Lets get some pictures up!

Derby has some right oddities, notably in Friar Gate with these little sculpted stones around its trees...

Another one is the 'signing hands' which is related to Derby's large deaf community, these are cast iron slabs.

A more recent installation is based in the Allenton district of Derby which was recently extensively refurbished with new car parking, paving and street furniture. It is related to the fossils which were found in the area prior to its development in the 20th century.

That mural on the pub is brilliant. I wish we had more stuff like that in our cities.

Nottingham is one of the main cities for Graffiti, along with Bristol and London - that's something Nottingham should promote rather then condemn. The Nottingham artists are often doing their work in Derby and its brilliant.

Ladybay Bridge is a good place to see quality grafitti. Some of it looks amazing.

I remember the classic 'Stop Wars' mural in the Lace Market when I last visited Notts - isn't that something of a national legend? I see pictures of it everywhere.

Here's part of the railings around Derby Midland Station's car park....

Looks like a great area, Stefan. The quality and volume of art is probably on par with the derelict Friar Gate Railway Warehouse in Derby.
